  • This second video on Spencer's safety beliefs is designed to remind us that even the best intentions to control risk will be challenged. Life comes at us from many different directions. When it does we react. Sometimes how we react increase the risk in our lives. This is what this safety belief is designed to control as 'You Cannot Be Safe on Your Own'!
It is designed to allow for others to help us when we fail these tests life gives us. By allowing others to help us in controlling risk we accept their knowledge, skill, ability, experiences and perceptions. Their added skills then helps us to control risk, do a better job and a safe job.
People, however, do not like help. It reminds us of our limitations. Sometimes we feel like we are being attacked or belittled. We even feel like help is controlling our lives. When it comes to safety though, none of that is true. By controlling risk it aids us where we do have limitations. It does attack us but supports us to prevent an injury. It controls the energy in a task, not our lives. Accepting help in safety only improves how we do things. Even when life challenges us to take on greater risk then necessary.
    The last safety beliefs is:
    Safe work always gets done
