NAOSH Week 2022

NAOSH Week 2022 video is a reflection on why we have safety policies in the work place. This need came from millennia of death and loss that was accepted as part of the job. When safety legislation was passed in various countries, it changed production. Production now included safety into how we did things. This improvement worked as incidents and fatalities started to decline. These improvements occurred as safety legislation controlled the occupational energies associated with working. After 50 years of controlling energy we now are measuring plateaus in incident claims rates and fatality rates. This means that controlling energy works but is not enough. The future of safety will look to incorporating peoples behaviors to breakthrough these plateaus. This will add up to reducing incidents and fatalities to levels never seen before.
