I'm going this year for my 50th Birthday! So excited
Stop recommending people to order special meals / it’s beginning to become a nightmare for cabin crew. People are ordering SPMLS to do just that - to eat first rather than a required dietary meal like gluten free etc…. It takes the cabin crew longer to distribute- and they all have to be labelled individually and handed out prior to the meal service. They are a pain in the ass! Stick to the normal menu please / special meals are a huge inconvenience! The problem is now with passengers (having flown for 18 years) everyone thinks they are the only person onboard - you’re not! You’re one of 155! In 2006 you would maybe have 5/6 SPMLS on a 747, now you have 40+!!!!!!
Thanks for the review. Flying LHR to Buenos Aires via Frankfurt with Lufthansa. Not looking forward to 14hrs in the air non-stop but have booked row 27 for the marginally extra legroom (could just make it out from your vid). Think I might have to pop a few sleeping tabs!
freebies brilliant
Middlesbrough is not a big city, it’s not even a small city, though it probably should be; it’s a large town. I spent a few days holiday there just before the pandemic and I like the place. I seldom fly; to Newark New Jersey in the early 2000s and before that to Russia in 1974. I really don’t like the biggest airports, prefer the medium sized ones, though Teesside is probably a bit too small, with only a few flights and a very limited range of destinations. The airport’s biggest claim used to be it’s totally useless, and now closed, railway station. It had one train per week in one direction only. Even when it had more of a service almost nobody used it as it was a long walk from the airport entrance, with buses providing a better service. In some years it was Britain’s least used station with just a few tens of passengers per year, mainly rail fans just wanting to visit the station. Maybe the airport cafe should sell parmos!
The addition of Parmos would certainly upweight it as a destination airport!
Just be aware. This only applies to 787/8 and 787/9. 787/10 has three rows on twin seats and the very back ones don't recline.
I’m shocked the back in the -10 don’t recline. Any reason for this?
@@JTsJourneys They are tight up against the bulkhead.
BA's long haul service and food to Asia is honestly laughable...
Agree, so much capacity to the US but so so limited to Asia. Wish there was a better way of earning rewards / companions on klm / Lufthansa to use for Asia based in the uk
I did LHR - HKG with BA, they served sweet and sour chicken... It's very Brit stereotypical, because it's an Asian route then sweet and sour is the only choice... Cathay does the same route serving British customers, but they are at least adventurous on the food... Don't think you've done a Cathay review as yet?
Great if you trying to escape the 😂crowds are you want to have a quick rest but paying for no bathroom is not good
Bathroom is right next door so not to far, but not ideal brushing your teeth surrounded by those using the facilities I agree
Great vid
Thank you!
Those wings look like they need a paint job! lol
Plenty of repairs by the looks of it
What a plane! I've only flown on the B767-300ER and it's much different from this B767-300.
I could see too many differences. The main internal difference might be the cabin style, but I’ve flown on -300ers with this cabin too. It think it’s the launch version which was updated when the 777s launched to have the same look and feel. Almost like when Boeing launched the sky interior on the 737 following the investment in 787 cabin design
My condolences to hear of your lost of your grandfather,
Thank you David. Thanks for watching the video :)
WHY DIDNT U GET ENGINE VIEW SEAT I love arvo its engine view is beautiful
I tried, back when I flew this the only real engine view is at the front 2 rows which were sold as business unfortunately
Great trip report. Wish I could take that flight! Thank you.
Thank you!
Michelob ultra is fine on a hot day in Florida. Not on an airliner
Can't say I've had it on a hot day in Florida, but not sure I'd want it there either
Thought London newyork is only 5 hours behind us
5 hours yes
Hi Jamie Taylor..... am watching from New Zealand, your awesome flight review, hope you both enjoy all your up coming future world travels., i have only flown on B.A once from LHR to LAX but in business class / more leg room and better food.
Hello! Thanks for the comment :) ah yes much much better when you're at the front rather than right down the back
Amazing video! Really informative. That breakfast looks incredible
Thank you!
I’ll be taking the same flight in March 2025. It’s my first time flying solo so I’m a little nervous but seeing this has helped ease my anxiety so thank you!
You got this! I’ve only done solo flights locally in Europe, but I can safely say it’s quite freeing doing it alone. You only have to worry about yourself, which is a blessing in disguise.
Hope all goes well, you'll have a great time and they'll look after you
so true!
My first flight on a wide body jet was a Britannia Airways Boeing 767-200 from Alicante to Luton in March 1987.It was a 2-4-2 configuration, smoking was allowed on board in the front cabin only, there was in flight entertainment but it was a large screen at the front of each cabin like a cinema and the provided headphones were rather like a doctors stethoscope. I live in Luton and I remember one day in late 1982 that Boeing sent both it's 757 and 767 demonstration aircraft to the airport to demonstrate to the staff of Monarch who had ordered the 757 and Britannia Airways the 767.I have only ever flown short haul on the 767 with my longest flight being UK to Cyprus.
Fantastic stories there, Britannia 767-200 I think was my first one too although I wouldn’t have remembered much given I was a tot. I remember Britannia 360 tv (or something to that effect) and just endless shows repeats of dinner ladies on a crt tv!
I’m flying this route and flight in January but WTP. But that compensation was a bit of a joke tbh
Have a great time. The extra room in premium will be so worth it on such a long flight
When will it be retired?
End of 2024 was the last I heard but could be extended
The Boeing 767 is an iconic and underrated airliner! I did 11 flights with British Airways around Europe on their Boeing 767 flights before they retired in 2018. I've also flown the 767 with Icelandair, American & Delta, I'm pleased that cargo airlines will likely keep them flying well towards 2050 at least!
A good variety there! Yeah hopefully flying for a few years yet to come
Do they hand out landing forms on the plane?
Yes they do, bring a pen
@@JTsJourneys Thanks very much
Great video Jamie. My favourite 767 memory was a Ryan International N637TW from RAF Akrotiri to Brize Norton. Has 2 seats to myself next to the PW engine.
Thanks! Now that’s a flight I definitely couldn’t book onto.
Another great video JT. Like you, the 767 holds a special place in my heart being one of the first heavies that I flew in - long haul.
Thanks! I've only travelled on one long haul twice, Latam from Miami to Lima, and United Lima to Houston.
Looks retro inside that cabin but it's also been really well maintained. Asiana are a fantastic airline- I flew with them between Seoul Gimpo and Tokyo Haneda and the inflight service was amazing. Sadly when I visited Jeju I flew on a 737-800 with T'way and back with Eastar Jet. Not an exciting aircraft type but two cool airlines to experience nevertheless. Hope you had a great time in South Korea, I loved it there.
Really cool inside with the retro feel. That's what I mean when I say it's like a time warp, the cabin feels 'new' given how well maintained is
Great video mate 👍🏻
Thank you!
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
I am scared of heights but I’ve been on hyperia Thorpe park can you give me any advice when I got to Japan when I’m older
Throw yourself into the culture to get the best experience
@@JTsJourneys thx
awful airline
Капсулу для сна нужно бронировать заранее или же можно это сделать по прибытию в аэропорт?
I think both options are available however there’s limited numbers so I’d recommend booking in advance
I had a flight from Krakow (Schegen) to Houston via Frankfurt (Schegen) with just one hour. By just pure luck, I made my flight at the last minute before boarding closed. This was only because there was absolutely nobody in line at the TWO passport controls I had to pass through (yes, if you are going to the US you have to go through a second passport control near the Z gates). Honestly, with this airport, I would have a minimum of 3 hours between flights.
Very tight connections. That’s madness you had to go through twice, especially when they sell such short connection tickets
Better enjoy it as i hear new rules regarding travel permits come. I planned a last trip to heathrow before the British ETA comes into effect 2nd april 2025 for mainland europeans.
I think it’s a more or less reciprocal thing between 3rd countries as I understand it for next year?
Great review mate, please keep up the excellent work! You are right up there with the top guys like Sam Choi etc . . . .
Thanks for the great comment! Plenty more filmed I just need to find the time to put them together!
Really good to watch a positive travel blogger, keep doing it.
Thank you! Appreciate that a lot
Reminds me of a twin engined BAe146 - I used to fly regularly in Germany years ago in a twin prop very square bodied Dornier, a 228 I think, the pilot was separated from the cabin by a sliding door which was invariably left open in those days - you could literally tap the pilot on the shoulder when in the front seats.
Sounds like the good old days!
Dornier 228s operate from Southampton to Alderney, on a 30 minute flight.
Wonderful airline, very comfortable and enjoyable. I did notice they’re registered in Ireland… maybe leased aircrafts?
I think yes, they're leased and then registered on the Irish database. Not sure if it's a holding company there SAS Ire etc
Just been on a ATR 72 TO Belfast and loved the BA AVRO RJ 100 To Madrid from MAN, Happy birthday Dad...
Thanks! RJ and the ATR are much bigger aircraft
If I am not mistaken from power up to take off was about seven seconds!
around 20 seconds - full take off here ruclips.net/video/BKLz2hO0xW8/видео.html
wow i thought these were retired i didnt know they were still flying
The last one in Europe (I think!|)
600 quid? You could go transatlantic for that! (Or a train from london to scotland!)
You could make it to Australia for that i think
Did they lock the windows? thats what hate about them
Yes, windows were locked for most of the flight
@JTsJourneys i hate it when they do that I actually complained to BA and said it's not fair on people paying for a window seat
Nice to see, and for the £ per Avios, one of the best value redemptions out there! In my world, Meraki is an IT networking product made by Cisco - never heard of the soap thought!
Maybe they've diversified into hand soap now....
I saw a 328 at Manchester airport in about 2017, I didn't recognise the aircraft type so did some googling to identify it and the route it was flying. I was going to book flights to Billund just for the flight experience but ended up emigrating abroad so never got the chance to try it. Great video, I enjoyed watching your flight.
Thank you! I think Manchester was the first place I saw it too, really rare to see it there back then. Anything good and interesting to fly where you are now?
@@JTsJourneys I haven't seen any interesting civilian aircraft here in the part of Cyprus where I live but we get quite a few military. At the moment we have Ospreys whizzing around quite a lot. Flying on anything interesting is pretty much out of the question, it's mainly budget airlines and tour operators.
Military stuff must be pretty decent to see
I've done that flight, though mine was Manchester to Billund. I love the window they had into the cockpit. It didn't see that there on your flight video.
I wanted to LCY-BLL-MAN but that stopped back before summer. They have a window ??? I missed this
@@JTsJourneys I didn't see a windows in the footage from the one on your flight. The flight I had did, so I assume it was a different airplane (same type). A big square windows looking into the flight deck. This was several years ago, so they could have changed them for more security by now.
If I missed this I'm a bit gutted!
@@JTsJourneys I don't think you did based on your footage.
Engines on the 328 do have reversers but they are such a light wieght aircraft that they have alot more runway left as the stopping distance is far less than usual aircraft, hense only need auto brakes.👍
Thanks! Must have been light touch, was a gentle deceleration
I best the airport breakfast cost as much as the flight!! 😂😂
Thankfully its' on priority pass!
@@JTsJourneys we flew back from Majorca airport yesterday - a “full English” breakfast (if you can even call it that) was £15.50 each!! It was pitiful.
not worth it is it! In an airport now more often than not I'll try and grab a Greggs landslide before I go through, anywhere abroad some sort of toast / panini is my go to but even they can take the mick these days
