Nice video. I've flown myself both Aegean Airlines and Sky Express. I can say Sky is on the rise and has a lot more to offer than Aegean does these days. Aegean used to be a very good airline but they have been cutting costs the last 3 years or so. Hope you manage to get on one of their flights. Would be interesting to see a review on them too. When I don't even get a bottle of water on a 45 minutes flight, and Aegean does, then there is something wrong! It's not just the bottle of water, but there a lot of other things that won't let me put Sky Express higher than Aegean Airlines.

Very nice vid! These are ex- Air Asia NEOs but not all have the same slimline seats..Some have the older thicker padding resulting in reduced legroom (i think the ones doing the domestic flying) but still all in all it's a nice product with reasonable prices and on-board catering..What i love about them is that they offer Nescafe Gold cappuccino, vegan cappuccino etc And as you know Greeks love drinking coffee and esp. Nescafe..No other airline offers it! From what i 've heard they have more NEOs coming and recently they got the new ATR72-600s destined for short island hopping

I'm obviously out of touch, I'd only come across Sky Express as an airline that flew between Athens and some of the Greek Islands, I never even knew they had jets, let alone a flight to LHR!! Interesting to see that the document check was done at the gate. When I flew to Greece at the end of October with easyJet from Gatwick, the document check was done at the bag drop area. I think those metal loops are to help shorter people reach the overhead bins. 😊 Great video as always Jamie! 👍
Thanks Andy! They're only really expanded in the past year I think when they picked up the 320s. I think most passengers did have documents checked at bag drop, but as we never needed to drop a bag off they did ours as a pre board which worked fine. It's so obvious re the overhead bins now it's pointed out!
Quite recently they purchased a number of A320neo and A321neo aircrafts. I think they have around 9 of those these days. They have initiated flights to London, Larnaca, Brussels, Milan, Munich, Paris and maybe some other destinations. Have not flown them yet but would really love to at some point.
Sky express have upped their game in the last couple of years ... Can I ask a question ? How tall are you ? would this be comfortable seat option if you are 6 foot tall ..........? Just subscribed Thanks it was a great review ...
I'm planning a trip from London to Athens next June. Sky Express is significantly less expensive than Aegean and BA out of Heathrow, but there are lots of horror stories about lost luggage recently. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with checked bags?
Whilst we didn't check a bag and the carry on experience was good, I'd recommend an air tag or something similar in your luggage so you can track its whereabouts should it go missing
@@JTsJourneys Did you pay extra for your carry on or was it included in the price of your ticket? I wasn't sure if hand luggage and cabin baggage were the same. Thank you.
not by any chance sky is the best airline in Greece. Aegean ofcourse is the best...with new aircrafts and modernisation opf its fleet, wifi on board, amazing and friendly crew and itis bringing back the meals and the full service...and it has also an extensive network
Still planning on trying out Aegean soon. From what my expectations were though, I had very low expectations on Sky Express and they were far better than I expected
Definitely not the best airline in Greece. Aegean offers way more than them, although with a big price difference. And they will keep this title for sure.

The steps on the seats are for crew to look inside lockers. The steps are like that or cut out holes.

No seat back entertainment, and don't think there was any wifi either. Best entertainment here is looking out of the window

Hello, I had the flight ATH - JTR and it was really good. Also I had checked-in luggage and all ok! Not destroyed or delayed.

I'm yet to fly Aegean, I see them as more of a full service airline, maybe I should rephrase to 'best value airline'?

Wow, what happened in your experience? As you can see from the video, my expectations were exceeded pretty much all the way through
