I think they need to arm the teachers and others in the school. And they should wear body armor. As I'm writing this I know it sounds crazy but what choice do we have to protect our children. 3:33 Police officers arrived on the scene..immediately entered the school...not knowing what they would encounter. Let that be a lesson to UVALDE, TEXAS cowardly, selfish "cops" who waited while children died. Grateful for brave cops who selflessly serve and protect the whole public, not just themselves or those who support an agenda.
love the way the chief stressed that his officers IMMEDIATELY entered the school. definitely a dig at the useless uvalde "cops" who stood around useless.
Last time I heard about what happened in Ulvalde, the chief of police there who was in charge of giving the SWAT team orders in that incident, was in a trial and could face federal charges as a result of what happened. 1st time something like that could happen in the U.S. apparently.
Thank you, Chief, for a remarkable update on such a tragic event. Holding all those impacted in my heart, from those lost and injured to their families, to all the students and their families, to all the first responders dealing with the horror...so many traumatized for life.💔💔💔
When bullied students retaliate, no one addresses why. The lazy ass teachers usually join in with the bullying because they are cowards too. That was my reality as a child. “Popular” kids ridicule loners and never face consequences. It is usually bullying that triggers people into doing things like this.
@@spaghettiman600 I was a grade school teacher and not a lazy ass as you stated. There was zero tolerance for bullying and any student who did was either expelled or the like. This school was not a public school and so I don't know their regulations, but I can tell you straight up that a lot of students are bullied in the school restrooms or the cafeteria. The would be shooter could have been bulied or was a bully: It will surface. In the meanwhile, not ALL teachers are lazy or uncaring. Too many would lay down the lives for their students.
Spaghetti, I'm so sorry this was your experience, my granddaughter has been through what you are saying, with even the principle giving her mother my daughter a threat when she tried to discuss it with her, the bullies are rewarded "as encouragement to try and get them to behave better" it is sickening the amount of self preservation I encounter with people who are in authority, who can do something about it but don't, we had to move my granddaughter out of that school, she is now entering high school where those bullies will be going to as well, I dread it, so we are looking to move to another district
A 15 year old...another person falls thru the cracks because no one is talking about mental health, gun safety, and staying close to her. It was so painful she chose to end her life and other's lives. Had enough..yet???
@@luisa.acevedo3326 So there was obviously something wrong with her if she was in thetapy, yet her and her parents were allowed access to guns??? 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
How long has there been warning signs with this 15 year old??? I'm going there and saying... there had to have been some signs with this person. I'm so sorry for those who lost their lives and for those who are fighting to live. "Before guns", there IS mental illness that has gotten overlooked and left to fester... This is when it gets out of control. Those individuals...parents, teachers, peers, who see fit to indoctrinate young minds also need to be held accountable for these horrific outcomes. Things, events, were surely happening, in play prior to this 15 year olds decision to do this. Whether we get the full story or not---this is happening way too often.
Yep. The female that shot up the Christian school in Tennessee had a long history of mental illness. The focus should be on that and not political opposition to something else.
Sad but predictable. Also, the US has been murdering children around the world for decades but because they tell you it's ok it shouldn't count as sad, should it?
God bless all in Madison, WI. Chief, you have been so fantastic in reporting transparent intelligence on this situation. Please advise if I can assist in any way.
Amazing response. It ran like clockwork with all the different agencies working together in a coordinated effort to mitigate the threat and treat the wounded. Very impressive. Condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
I lived near Madison growing up. It has a metropolitan population of around a million people, give or take. It also has a huge variety of both socio-economic statuses and racial groups. The police are good at responding to calls because they have a lot of practice......
There goes the movement to have students lock their phones in lockers during school hours. Maybe just have the high schools enforce that and let the elementary school students do the work of adults.
Incredable police chief.thank you for being so clear and professional.yet being so. Concerened. Great job on handling the unthinkable. Thank you for trying to prepare for. Such desasters in such a small community school
Investigate the parents. These teens usually get the guns from their parents. Parents need to be held accountable. Teenagers are totally out of control. Where I live in Las Vegas, it's as bad as it can get. No punishment just probation.
this is because the government took away the parents ability to discipline their own children. You do much more than tell your kids no CPS is called and takes you to jail BUT yet when they do something like this everyone says blame the parent! You can not have responsibility without authority.
My nephews daughter goes to a Christian school in Las Vegas, she is 14 and has been bullied relentlessly for years. The teachers/admin and parents have done nothing. I am not condoning the shooters actions whatsoever, but if bullying is involved I do understand what could push a child.
@@shirleypoplo-ej7lz Then you both are idiots with nothing better to do. It's a developing situation. This is why its so common for people with authority to not comment so early in the investigation. Who did you hear that from, and who did they hear that from? You have no idea so just sit down and chill until the cops have a chance to take statements.
And thats why this happens people like you who ignore red flags because its nice to them ,, if the problem was delt with properly no none would of died sick of the woke agenda making out a dangerous mental illness in people are a victim. they should be in a hospital getting treatment not given a community to cover up the illness they have . and whats worse is we are made to bow to the demands of these people and if we don't this stuff happens .. trump needs to fix this clear weakness in the USA . 2 more people died because we don't want to upset a ill person
This 15 year old didn't just sit down and decide😢 to do this. There had to be issues that were not delt with by that school. Never ignore someone that has be bullied to the point they would do this!

If you think this is medication related why not go a step further and ask why was she being medicated. This victims shot were more than likely not random. Secondly this was a private “Christian” school so if she was having psychological issues it was addressed through prayer since most religious folk hate psychiatry. If it makes you feel better to blame it on her being medicated and no other reason than that then sweet dreams.
I’m so sorry for all those killed and May they Rest In Peace🙏. I’m sorry for those injured and I hope they recover quickly. I’m also sorry for the shooter. She must have been under mental duress and may see to Rest In Peace🙏
I’m in a prayer group where we pray for our children and it’s scary how evil can manifest so quickly! Jesus’s second coming can’t come soon enough !! God rest those poor kids and I applaud their bravery 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
It's so stupid to blame "Satan" when this kid was raised Christian. In fact, Christians are involved in more than a few mass shootings, and a LOT OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CASES TOO. Shut those stupid pieholes about how we need Jesus. It's completely stupid.
Society in general is to blame for all this mental illness, it's been ignored the liberals rather keep the mental ill amongst the rest of us so that they can prey on the weak.
You obviously know nothing about the brain and mental illness. You also obviously are going to do nothing about the pathetic mental health system in the US.
This is a society of our making, our actions or lack thereof have, at least in part, caused this to happen. The reality is that while we see the tragedy unfolding in front of us, we accept it over any kind of change, so you should brace yourself because it's going to get worse. In 2024 there has been 323 school shootings resulting in the deaths of 69 victims and 12 shooters in the USA alone, while the remainder of the globe in totality has experienced 24 school shootings resulting in 8 deaths. This is a uniquely American issue.
It’s really a reflection on how the perpetrators process their own stress. Some people can’t take teasing or bullying. As humans, we need to learn to deal with our feelings better. Violence is never the answer when you’re upset. Parents need to do better. I blame the parents/guardians.
That's what I've been asking!!! Everybody talking about all these other random speculations, but nobody addressing where she got the weapon to carry out this horrendous crime???
Parents, if you have children and keep firearms in the house, please talk to your children about respecting firearms. Firearms should never be handled by a child without a responsible adult present. They should not be left where children can get hold of them either. When I was growing up even from a very young child, it was impressed upon me that children did not handle firearms and I was never to touch one. My grandad kept a rifle in his closet loaded. From the age of five, I knew it was there and I could have easily taken it from its spot. I never did because it was ingrained in me that I was not to touch it ever. A lot of us grew up this way and we didn’t have all the children and youth shootings we have today. Teach your children guns are not toys and to never, ever, point them at anyone unless they are planning to pull the trigger. Make sure you talk to them about the consequences of pulling that trigger. If you have a troubled teen, keep those firearms completely out of their reach unless you are there with them. Please love your children enough to be responsible with your firearms.
agree but parents and grandparents were respected because disrespect was feared...because we got punished and the law didnt go after them. parents hands are tied after a certain age. and teacher/counselors actually have more allowances and respect in that front from the state. double edge sword
This wasn't some "accident"!!! This teenager set about to go out and actively pursue to end other peoples lives. There should not have been any weapons allowed anywhere near her or her parents, "locked up" or otherwise.
Out of all the job opportunities out there. To be a first responder takes a special person. Gid bless all of your love for others as well as yourselves. We don't always get answers but we certainly get the service each and every one of you offer.
Heartbreaking, I feel so saddened for the families. Kudos to the chief he did an excellent job getting the facts out. He spoke like a true leader the delivery of his statement was calm and clear.
Cell phone bans in schools will put students of all ages in danger. Thank fuck for this smart, brave kid who had access to a phone and called for help immediately
Agree. Both my kids who attend school have cell phones they keep on silent in their backpack when they're not allowed to use it. But it stays on and near them in case of emergencies and to track them
Was the shooter on any mental "health" medications and/or receiving therapy??? If so... WHO prescribed them and WHAT kind of therapy was she receiving??? 🇺🇲
Or was she being denied mental health care cuz her parents believed "prayer" would solve it? None of us know and it's never this simple. My first question is where did she get the gun? I'm tired of parents having a dozen guns lying around the house with kids and not being held accountable.
We know you have no idea what you're talking about why do you always assume that someone will shoot up a school they have a mental health issue of their medications like are you a doctor you're the main reason people do nonsense because you have no idea what you're talking about and you think you on the internet that gives you more knowledge it does not stop acting like that😮
Chief Barnes, I commend you and your department's, for your concise and succinct update. Hats off for swift action, which unfortunately should be modulated. Was horrified at recent news of inability for law enforcement allowing murder of children to occur with police within the building?
Prayers having to deal with another senseless act by someone in school. So horrible at this present time of vacation for holidays, for kids, the parents and friends its so tragic of all, an all the people that help out in these circumstances. so sorry for you all.
The times of the report are off ‘ I was watching a live show on daytime TV when at around 10:30 it was interrupted by breaking news but in this briefing it said the 2nd grader called at 10:57 when the news had already been broken on TV
If a metal detector would have been there NO student would have had to call. If school would have security so No psycho can bring in weapons 2nd graders would NOT have to call anyone. Duhhhh
Sorry. But I live in Chicago. My kids went to public high schools that had metal detectors. Come to find out, they don’t always use them. Just sporadically. I came to learn this when a kid who was gun happy threatened my daughter’s life.
The young are doing things that in any other country you'd not see. It is an American problem. Parenting, bullying, maybe any type of abuse. And sadly in many cases mental problems. Many people will take advantage of these cases to go against the 2d Ammendment. It is not about guns. The problem is deeper than that.
Yes it is about guns AR-15's esp. can wipe out many in seconds. Guns can be made on computers today like the gun made by the shooter of CEO of Health Care Org. Anyone who knows how to use a computer and can read can make a gun!
@@robindelude3787 Perhaps the US empire's insistence on "full spectrum domination" (Wolfowitz doctrine) and imposition of so-called "free markets" to hyper-exploit labor and strip-mine humanity and the very planet we live on for perpetual privatized profit for a handful of individual sociopaths via the use of mass globally expansive instrumentalized violence has something to do with the _actual_ root of the problem (a feature, not a bug to "too big to fail" wall street demonic arcons). The divine right of "the market", the management of savagery, a means to no ends. As Malcom X noted (before he was of course killed by the FBI), the chickens are coming home to roost. The empire feeds off the republic. Since I clearly have nothing better to do, if anyone actually cares, here's a broader historical _continuity_ grounded to tidal _material_ interests (ie class war, the engine of history) that will very much explain the social miasma of normalized violence (ie historical materialism), merely one missing segment of the centuries long history of colonialism/imperialism that we very much refuse to reconcile with or simply ignore entirely: The US has positioned itself as the "consumer of last resort" at the end of the global supply chain to absorb inevitable overproduction of capitalism through cheap consumption or of course through our favorite activity of war/arms sales (military Keynesianism, the only button we can push at this point clearly), launching itself to hegemony post-WWII via imposing the Bretton-Woods international financial system with the US dollar as the "world reserve currency" using the leverage of being the only industrialized nation-state _not_ bombed to shit and taking the imperial baton from the British and their pound sterling, creating the World Bank and IMF which trap nation-states into dependency relationships to perpetually extract rent and maintain "full spectrum domination" (see: Wolfowitz doctrine) over the global working class for the benefit of transnational corporate/finance capital (maintained by regional oligarchies in subordinated nation-states). As Nixon's treasury secretary John Connally succinctly put it, _"The dollar is our currency, but _*_your_*_ problem."_ See: "washington consensus" and its "structural adjustment" policies (hence the emergence of BRICS broadly aligned _against_ this global financial coercion and all that it entails). NATO is an arms distribution network for the military industrial complex and essentially the public face of a European sphere of US domination, covertly enforced by a "strategy of tension" of violent social control mediated by corporate-controlled technology (check out Chomsky/Herman's Manufacturing Consent or Inventing Reality by Michael Parenti) seen in things like Operation Gladio in Italy (see: "years of lead", Aldo Moro assassination, Bologna bombings, etc.) with parallel operations in _every_ NATO country (and even non-NATO countries like Finland and Sweden, their recent officialization being purely perfunctory) where the CIA directed explicitly fascist paramilitary insurgencies (so-called "stay-behind" armies) to stoke public fear toward particular goals favorable to US corporate/finance capital and continued US hegemony. Its internally recognized geopolitical functionality or raison d'être as succinctly put by its first sec.gen Lord Ismay was to, _"keep the Americans in, the Germans down, and the Russians out"_ and hey, what a "coincidence", it appears to continue to enforce this state of affairs, especially obvious when noting the industrial sabotage of Nord Stream II clearly perpetrated by the US against Germany (a callback to interwar Germany and its imposed separation by Western powers to prevent a socialist-aligned industrial base which the Bolsheviks were _explicitly_ counting on for the USSR project to have any chance at success). To list just a few more "regime change" reference points for the expansion of US empire: Iran in '53 overthrowing democratically elected Mossadegh to prevent nationalization of oil and installing the Shah as mentioned earlier, Guatemala in '54 to prevent democratically elected Arbenz from mild land redistribution, Sukarno in Indonesia putting in Suharto who would invade East Timor backed by the US, Lumumba in the Congo, the _first_ 9/11 in '73 overthrowing democratically elected Allende to put in Pinochet's military dictatorship, Operation Cyclone funding/training the mujahideen in Afghanistan to provoke the USSR into invasion in the 80s (almost a 1:1 of Ukraine), to _"give the USSR its own Vietnam"_ as psycho natsec cold-warrior advisor to Carter & Reagan Zbigniew Brzezinski put it - the mujahideen infamously fracturing into the Taliban and Al Qaeda (which eventually fractures into Al Nusra and then HTS in Syria which just overthrew Assad), "oops" - my god this is merely the _tip_ of the imperialist iceberg - and this is of course _besides_ the overt depravity of Korea (killing ~20% of its population - hence why they set out to acquire nukes for deterrence/leverage, Gaddafi serving as example of what happens when nukes are voluntarily given up ie NATO bombing in 2011...Operation Timber-Sycamore funneling weapons from Libya into the hands of Syrian "moderate rebels" of Al Qaeda that just took over - it's all connected is the point here, so-called geopolitical "grand strategy"), Vietnam (including Cambodia, Laos), etc. etc... _"We'll know our disinformation campaign is complete when everything the American public believes is false"_ - William Casey, -demonic arcon- CIA director under Reagan Surely he's giving two thumbs up in hell, which is probably not too dissimilar from the world he helped create. It's no coincidence in other words - it ain't "broken", it's _fixed!_ War is a racket, as Maj.Gen. Smedley Butler famously put it, upon reflecting on his role as a _"fixer for the gangsters of capitalism"_ , staunchly backing FDR/New Deal and firmly opposing capitalism, which organizes material reality in terms of ownership/control, dividing society into two classes (capitalist class/employer v. working class/employee) that benefit materially at the others' expense, ie share an inherently antagonistic/zero-sum relationship. Thus inevitably over time one class is necessarily going to entrench their material interests over the other - as some guy put it 150+ years ago, _"The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie_ [ownership class]" Nuclear apocalypse is the ultimate destination of endless escalation which thanks to the material interests staked in entrenching global bourgeoisie dictatorship over the global working class achieved under the pretext of the "cold" war (not very "cold" when, say, engulfed in napalm...) happens to be the raison d'être of the US natsec state since its inception; where all possibility is strictly bound to profitability and everything and everyone, including the very planet itself, is for sale for the privatized profits of insatiable individual psychopaths who despite having everything only ever want more... To echo Rosa Luxemburg from interwar Germany, before of course being executed by the freikorps paramilitary (later becoming the SS, shocker) at the behest of Freidrich Ebert's ostensibly _social democratic_ SPD party (a storied tradition of selling out the working class with Scholz at its helm today), almost immediately resonating the truth of such a succinct political dichotomy to this day: *_Socialism or_* [continued] *_barbarism._* *_sorry for screed of consciousness if anyone manages to read this, jesus lol_*
When you say that "only God knows why this has happened" you are quite literally implying that God had a hand in this. Did God instruct her to do this or was God just an accomplice?
I find it unlikely a school would be any better for being labeled 'Christian'. Plenty of that faith worship their right to bear arms as important as scripture.
Comments like this are a reflection of just how deranged Americans are becoming. "Let's punish innocent people that had nothing to do with the act! GUILT BY ASSOCIATION!!!"
Something has to be done to stop this . Parents must lock weapons. And hide them from teens and anyone else who may take guns out .
Exactly. Those cowards.

love the way the chief stressed that his officers IMMEDIATELY entered the school. definitely a dig at the useless uvalde "cops" who stood around useless.
🙏

WHAT MEDS WAS SHE RECENTLY PRESCRIBED??!!!!
Her father was taking her to a gun range. Why would anyone give a mentally troubled person who is being ruthlessly bullied a firearm?
If you think this is medication related why not go a step further and ask why was she being medicated. This victims shot were more than likely not random. Secondly this was a private “Christian” school so if she was having psychological issues it was addressed through prayer since most religious folk hate psychiatry. If it makes you feel better to blame it on her being medicated and no other reason than that then sweet dreams.

The sickness in this country keeps getting worse.

This chief is an amazing orator. Seems very thorough and caring. Well done. Prayers to the community, this is horrific.

Since I clearly have nothing better to do, if anyone actually cares, here's a broader historical _continuity_ grounded to tidal _material_ interests (ie class war, the engine of history) that will very much explain the social miasma of normalized violence (ie historical materialism), merely one missing segment of the centuries long history of colonialism/imperialism that we very much refuse to reconcile with or simply ignore entirely:
The US has positioned itself as the "consumer of last resort" at the end of the global supply chain to absorb inevitable overproduction of capitalism through cheap consumption or of course through our favorite activity of war/arms sales (military Keynesianism, the only button we can push at this point clearly), launching itself to hegemony post-WWII via imposing the Bretton-Woods international financial system with the US dollar as the "world reserve currency" using the leverage of being the only industrialized nation-state _not_ bombed to shit and taking the imperial baton from the British and their pound sterling, creating the World Bank and IMF which trap nation-states into dependency relationships to perpetually extract rent and maintain "full spectrum domination" (see: Wolfowitz doctrine) over the global working class for the benefit of transnational corporate/finance capital (maintained by regional oligarchies in subordinated nation-states).
To list just a few more "regime change" reference points for the expansion of US empire: Iran in '53 overthrowing democratically elected Mossadegh to prevent nationalization of oil and installing the Shah as mentioned earlier, Guatemala in '54 to prevent democratically elected Arbenz from mild land redistribution, Sukarno in Indonesia putting in Suharto who would invade East Timor backed by the US, Lumumba in the Congo, the _first_ 9/11 in '73 overthrowing democratically elected Allende to put in Pinochet's military dictatorship, Operation Cyclone funding/training the mujahideen in Afghanistan to provoke the USSR into invasion in the 80s (almost a 1:1 of Ukraine), to _"give the USSR its own Vietnam"_ as psycho natsec cold-warrior advisor to Carter & Reagan Zbigniew Brzezinski put it - the mujahideen infamously fracturing into the Taliban and Al Qaeda (which eventually fractures into Al Nusra and then HTS in Syria which just overthrew Assad), "oops" - my god this is merely the _tip_ of the imperialist iceberg - and this is of course _besides_ the overt depravity of Korea (killing ~20% of its population - hence why they set out to acquire nukes for deterrence/leverage, Gaddafi serving as example of what happens when nukes are voluntarily given up ie NATO bombing in 2011...Operation Timber-Sycamore funneling weapons from Libya into the hands of Syrian "moderate rebels" of Al Qaeda that just took over - it's all connected is the point here, so-called geopolitical "grand strategy"), Vietnam (including Cambodia, Laos), etc. etc...
_"We'll know our disinformation campaign is complete when everything the American public believes is false"_ - William Casey, -demonic arcon- CIA director under Reagan
Surely he's giving two thumbs up in hell, which is probably not too dissimilar from the world he helped create.
It's no coincidence in other words - it ain't "broken", it's _fixed!_
War is a racket, as Maj.Gen. Thus inevitably over time one class is necessarily going to entrench their material interests over the other - as some guy put it 150+ years ago, _"The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie_ [ownership class]"
Nuclear apocalypse is the ultimate destination of endless escalation which thanks to the material interests staked in entrenching global bourgeoisie dictatorship over the global working class achieved under the pretext of the "cold" war (not very "cold" when, say, engulfed in napalm...) happens to be the raison d'être of the US natsec state since its inception; where all possibility is strictly bound to profitability and everything and everyone, including the very planet itself, is for sale for the privatized profits of insatiable individual psychopaths who despite having everything only ever want more...
To echo Rosa Luxemburg from interwar Germany, before of course being executed by the freikorps paramilitary (later becoming the SS, shocker) at the behest of Freidrich Ebert's ostensibly _social democratic_ SPD party (a storied tradition of selling out the working class with Scholz at its helm today), almost immediately resonating the truth of such a succinct political dichotomy to this day:
*_Socialism or_* [continued] *_barbarism._*

In my home state. The parents should be held accountable for this
A lot of blame to go around. A LOT.
Yesssss
Do you know them personally? We have No clue how that girl got a gun.
Comments like this are a reflection of just how deranged Americans are becoming. "Let's punish innocent people that had nothing to do with the act! GUILT BY ASSOCIATION!!!"
@@rickydalebradford3384how else would she have access to one sherlock
Not sure how a 15 year old could be so full of hate... maybe it was another transformer
Maybe you're just an evil person making a nasty uninformed comment.
Something has to be done to stop this . Parents must lock weapons. And hide them from teens and anyone else who may take guns out . This little girl was deeply troubled. ..someone should have recognized her plea for help. ,
Lock your darn guns up this is so out of control in america and could have been prevented. Its so sad it breaks my heart. 😢😢
So tragic.
Prayers for all 🙏
Another child that can get ahold of their parents gun???
How did this 15 year old get ahold of a gun & ammo???
Sounds like she's been trained???
By who, her parents???
To learn, anyone starting out in learning, needs an adult???
Why would anyone bring up anyone in this way???
Whatever it is, it's certainly not love.
Show the proof that it was her parents gun. You do not know that yet just like the rest of us.
Funny, in any city in the US 14 and 15 year olds are arrested carrying guns EVERYDAY!
Tragic for sure. I want to know where this young child obtained the weapon.
Does it matter?
Really?
Now she's 15?!

God bless all. Hugs ♥️ 🤗
Amazing response time from police and hope they can share with other communities how that can be done. So sorry for the victims of all who were lost or injured. 🙏🙏🙏☮️☮️☮️
And this Chief is an excellent communicator.
4:32 Wait, What? Why did Madison police department post about the incident before clearing out the school?
How was a gun made available to this child???????
Locked cabinet in her Home, reports I have heard. She broke in, & used 1 or 2 guns in this shooting.
How can someone with such mental health problems be ignored.
