    Thanks for posting this. I just got back from Japan flying on All Nippon Airways who are always brilliant (though, because I'm disabled, booking was a nightmare) and I maybe flying on BA to Haneda in the future so it's good to see this sort of review.

    Good detailed vlog, I've paid for one of those rear seats for a night flight back from America in June. Leg/foot space looks terrible but all in all, glad I've booked that seat (39B).

    • @JTsJourneys
      @JTsJourneys  10 месяцев назад +2

      Leg and foot room is okay, on the overnight I think it's more about that 'slouching comfort' position which I could manage okay. The major plus is the space to spread into & it's much easier to get out and move around. Have a great flight!

    As always, a comprehensive and enjoyable trip report. It actually didn't look as bad as I was expecting from BA. As you explain, the seats are great for a travelling couple although I would also find the light from the galley annoying and if people were queuing to use the toilet. Sounds like the crew were attentive and BA catering from Tokyo looks good compared to other outstations. The coolest thing in my opinion is that you got to fly the "wrong" way home from Tokyo and cross the international date line. Living in North West Scotland the HND to LHR and CDG flights often fly above my house and they are great to see. Keep the trip reports coming please, they are always brilliant!

    • @JTsJourneys
      @JTsJourneys  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much for the comment! The flight was really good actually, and the galley light was annoying for a bit but given the day flight I wasn’t trying to sleep through. (I had an eye mask too!). I was initially worried about the toilet, but we didn’t hear it with headphones on, and because you need to enter the toilet from by the rear exits the queues if any went into the galley. There were no more than 3 or 4 people waiting at max and that was just after the trays were cleared after meals. Check out the Lufthansa ones, they seem to go the furthest north, not sure if they come in over Scotland then or further out towards Amsterdam on their way into Germany

    I am a 14 year old in Japan(I have a British citizenship) and I used this flight when I went to the UK on my own.
    Since I was a child flying on my own, I was escorted to the plane by the crew at Haneda before boarding even started.
    But at Heathrow on a return flight, they did not care a single bit about me😂
    Huge difference between Japan and the UK.
    But whatsoever ba6 was a memorable flight for me and I really enjoyed it.

    My policy when airlines ask for volunteers is that unless I really nneed to get where I'm going, I'll offer to be bumped if they upgrade the ticket on the rerouted flight (eg if I was in Premium economy I'd be happy to wait for the next day/reroute if they upgrade it to business class). Wouldn't ever be interested in £200 for a rerouting like that though in the same class, especially since if they reroute me involuntarily they'll have to pay far more compensation anyway (£550 iirc), unless the reroute arrives within 2 hours of the originally booked flight, which it almost certainly won't.

    Hiya! Great video! Really useful to see BA's offering. I'm hoping to go to Tokyo in March/April next year. When did you book your flights? At the moment a direct return flight is around £1000 but Air China is offering £650 for only 2 hours longer a journey (seems too big a difference to justify the extra cost!)

    • @JTsJourneys
      @JTsJourneys  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I booked a year out to get the redemption seats. Direct is usually better but the Chinese airlines do offer some good value fares, just don’t expect them to operate the same as western airlines. I’ve a review coming up soon on China southern for a trip to Korea which will highlight the watch outs

    199,000 JPY one way in Economy, err no thank you. I paid 228,000 JPY one way in Business on Singapore Airlines NRT-SIN-LHR. That's £1179.
