- We are so excited for this trip!! We are leaving Alexandria, flying to Atlanta… and then hopping a flight across the pond to London! It is our first time ever in the United Kingdom and it has been on our bucket list!
We have a long flight… with no sleep and the jet lag set in hard!! We got into London and went straight to our hotel and did exactly what you are not supposed to do… went to sleep… then we woke up and went exploring!
We absolutely fell in love with London! We are staying in the Fitzrovia part of the city and it just feels right to us. We walk over to Charlotte Street which is home to over 80 restaurants! I think we should be able to find a good dinner here!

You do realise that the THE most expensive way to get from Heathrow to Central London is a black cab. Next time, my advice is to use the Elizabeth Line train to Paddington.
We do now but we had no experience with underground transportation so we were a bit leary as one would be. So instead we decided to go the traditional route which was expensive…yes, but now that we’ve experienced the underground trains we absolutely love them and would definitely travel that way next time!
@@EECCTravels - come back and see us soon.
Tell fellow Americans.
@@arnoldarnold4944, I just did it above: ruclips.net/video/d1T5hyhuoAo/видео.html&lc=Ugy7ceRmOVCEODwjJwR4AaABAg
Or ( for future reference) you could use the tube into central London, depending upon where your hotel,is located. The downside of the tube is at the time of the morning you landed the tube would get very busy as you headed to the centre. As a Londoner and often travelled from the US back to London, I would never take a black cab ( unless someone else was paying).
Love it when Americans check out the UK, I'm obsessed with watching this kinda stuff. I used to live about 15 miles outside central London and went in maybe 15 weekends a year, felt like a tourist every time because of how vast the buildings and roads are. Other UK cities tend to me "smaller" in that regard. Highly recommend you guys visit Manchester and Bristol one day!

Manchester is on my bucket list.
No doubts London has always been one the best places for tourists attraction, great people, food/resturants, pubs the list goes on. GREAT FOR VACATION TOO. Left there recently, definitely would recommend.
@@saanvi848 You think so right? …. I haven’t been to London tho but my family and I plan on spending our next vacation there next year.
@@steffan683 Mine wasn’t even a planned vacation, I made profits from an investment so I decided to take myself out, toured around London and dined at some of their top restaurants such as The Araki, and Dinner by Heston to name a few. I really enjoyed myself there, you should definitely try it too. ☺
I’m English and I recently travelled to America for the first time (to Atlanta, Georgia) and it’s so funny that he couldn’t stop doing an English accent because the whole time in GA I couldn’t stop doing an American accent either 😂 visiting the other side of the Atlantic for the first time feels so weird like you’re in a film where everyone you meet is acting haha, also the jet lag from the US to the UK is a w f u l fair play for you guys powering through 🙌🏻😅
I live about an hour outside of London, and watching this vlog has made me feel like a day in the city this weekend - I really LOVE how you guys have painted our country - thank you, and you're welcome back any time!
Snap
I'm from England (but I live in Kentucky) and am flying into London on Monday for the first time since before Covid to see my MUM and Family!! I can't bloody wait!!!!! Have fun you lot!!!
That is wonderful! Enjoy your trip!!
Would love to go back to London, best vacation we ever had in our lifes.
For future reference, the best way to get foreign cash is to get it in the country you are visiting at an ATM machine. Either at the airport or at a bank near your hotel. You get a much better exchange rate.
Or use credit card wherever possible. Use a card with no foreign exchange fee. One Euro is equal to one US Dollar at the moment.
The funny thing is that we haven’t used a bit of the cash as ApplePay is accepted everywhere! Even on the Underground!
Also if you use the ATM choose do not accept conversion to US stick with local you'll get a much better rate
@@lingham2099 Great advice. Best exchange rate in 20 years! Those foreign currency exchange booths are the biggest rip off.
@@lingham2099 they said they got 1.27 euros for a dollar. Isn’t that better than getting 1 euro for one dollar?
Thank you for this video. My husband and I just booked our London adventure for May 2024 and are so excited!!!
Not long now
Not an early Autumn but a record-equalling drought stressing out trees to the point where they shed leaves early to survive.
Good comment, Dean. In fact, those who know these things call this a 'false autumn', due to the reasons you give.
I came here to say exactly that, it's the trees trying not to die by shutting down early in the hope of rain during the real 'fall' or winter
Yup, well said Dean.
@@daz222 Admittedly I am "only " 68 years old in London but I really don't know enough about how Trees operate.
Silly question but do they have a "brain" as such and feelings?
@@Isleofskye admittedly I am not a botanist, but I can bet my bottom dollar that if they do, then the vegans would tell us! So no, I don't think they do. Even though vegans don't realise for avocados and other crops are only possible through the death of millions of bees used for pollination and are driven thousands of miles caged up for such activities. It has been shown that plants/trees do possess the ability to display pain, but they do not contain a central brain
You look absolutely beautiful with short hair! The short style gives you a younger, modern and fresh look. Rock that short hair!
Welcome to the UK. London is one of my favourite cities. Tons to do, places to go. Black cabs are expensive from the airport as Heathrow is on the outskirts, Uber’s a bit cheaper, but for very little you could have got a tube train right into central London for less than £5 each. Enjoy the rest of your stay. 🇬🇧
The hotel you stayed in is on Tottenham Court Road, the same road I work on! Also the reason there were so many leaves on the ground isn’t because it’s autumn, but because recently the UK has had very hot temperatures with next to no rain, which means the trees shed their leaves to retain as much water as possible. Autumn isn’t until September/October.
I love watching people come to London especially when they immerse themselves in our culture 😁. It was cool how much you were digging the pubs. And Soho is an amazing area to explore!
Good to see you two having a good time in London and with your entertaining version of a London accent. If you travel around the rest of Britain, there's another 55 reginal accents you can try.
Being English, I'm loving these London videos. You also look incredible with or without the wig! ❤️
Our Fall (...or Autumn, as we call it!), also starts in October/November. However, due to the extremely long hot dry spell this Summer, deciduous trees dropped some leaves early.
Wow this trip is going to be fantastic! So happy for you both living the best life you can, traveling and cruising. Enjoy every minute and can't wait to see more!
Can’t wait for the next vlog! You all look so happy enjoying the sights in London!
I enjoyed every moment of that - you have waited a long time for this trip and so have we - Enjoy what UK has to offer and the rest of your Adventures
So excited for this!!!! I am so jealous and can’t wait for all y’all’s great tips! Enjoy!!!!
I loved this .
Watching flights your excitement was palpable! !!!!
I'm from England and this is how I'd feel visiting the USA
EXCELLENT VIDEO
I really loved the genuine nature of this video (being very familiar with the area) - London is so full of sites ! Couple of things, the leaves dropping in late August was due to drought earlier in the year - autumn is late Sept.
Your "Harry Potter" accent is fabulous, especially if you're 13yrs old ! You'll be fine to use it in London b/c no-one is English - if you go outside of London (esp to the North of England) they're likely to think you're mocking them (imagine talking like Forest Gump all over the US) - anyway welcome
I was thinking "Your English Accent" is better than Dick Van Dyke's in Mary Poppins 🙂 ... and probably better than my American accent - but Renee Zelwegger does a convincing English accent in Bridget Jones and I believe Hugh Lawrie is a convincing American in House.
Well I’ve been slaughtered from the accent by now and it was really meant to be lighthearted…lol!
@@EECCTravels Stay true to yourselves please. Your wonderful southern accent reminds me of a fantastic holiday and wonderful people.

Awesome first day adventure out and about! Love your vlogs - ya'll are AWESOME! Happy Travels!
London is amazing, it's my fave city ever. I'm taking my 4th trip over in Dec but it'll be my first solo international trip. I'm so excited. I recommend anyone whose heading over to research before they go to ensure they can navigate the city well and "live like the locals". It's the best 😄
It is amazing. I'd meet you for a coffee!
I’m taking my 3rd next year! For summer
You two sure do a great job of showing the feel of the places you visit! Never been there so really enjoying this! Alisa you look so dang sure with your little grown in do! Love it💕
My wife and I just returned from London (12 day princess cruise around British Isles) and it was our first time over seas. It was great seeing how much you were loving all of the interesting architecture and general attitude that we loved so much. Can't wait to go back and enjoy another proper pint of Murphys!
How was the Princess cruise? We have been researching this for two years, and I think we’re going to do this for our anniversary next year. Any tips?
" A proper pint of "Murphys " , you will only find that in Ireland , the same goes for Guinness
Did you visit the Channel Islands?

This is truly inspiring. It's very soothing and relaxing to just play it after coming back from a very stressful day at work, and I feel so moved by the journey. As someone who has lost connection to himself for a while, I am finally getting a bit of it back, and watching you also gives me the extra drive to make this given life special. I'm exhausted watching this! You guys are troopers! Loved it!!
I used to work in that area of London & loved seeing it through the eyes of a tourist - I used to just rush past most of those places, either in a hurry to get back to work after lunch or on my way home.
It really is gorgeous there…I miss it - but not the job 🤣
I'm sure someone has already mentioned, but it was not fall when you visited. We've had a pretty intense heatwave and drought this year which has made a lot of the land quite dry, and many of the trees lost their leaves 🤯. Hopefully it'll recover soon
The recovery has started😀
It’s recovered now, innit?
Omg so excited for you London is so awesome!
Fantastic day and lots of fun getting to go with …. Thanks!
London. One of the great cities of the World.
In my youth I never liked beer until I went on a trip round the Samuel Smith's Brewery in Tadcaster, Yorkshire. They still brewed (possibly still do brew today) their beer in square vessels made from slate called "squares" in a traditional way. It was on that day in about 1994 when I learned that beer can be a wonderful drink
Yes they do I live about 20 minutes from tadcaster and know people that work at the brewery!
I loved every minute of this video… Brought back great memories of my first trip to London

This is the first travel vlog of London I've watched all the way through.. I moved away from London a few years ago and this brought me right back there! Great to see it through visitor's eyes and so pleased that you liked it there!
So glad you enjoyed it!!
Looks like such a good time. We upgraded to business class on the plane so we could sleep on the plane and stay up the first day. Really helped the jet lag. expensive, but worth it.
Wow this is awesome! Very nice video. Looking forward to your journey. Thanks and take care.
Really enjoyed your perspective! Good fun to watch.
Hiya Guys! So pleased you're enjoying our Capital City, also the fact that you're loving our Beers & Ciders. London Pubs & Restaurants are pretty expensive, however, I guess that's down to the fact it's so popular with tourists.
Awesome, love seeing what people choose to do when they visit here. There’s lots of choice and you can’t do it all like most cities especially with history or famous landmarks etc… you could spend weeks there and still miss a lot!
Loved seeing this. Lived in London for 8 years love it and love seeing your reactions
I love London. Many great adventures to come I am sure. Have fun!
If time permits I would always advise a first time traveller to the U.K. to try and see something beyond London, even if it’s just a day trip, you don’t need a car, public transport will get you there. Seeing London and thinking you are seeing the U.K. is like going to New York and thinking that is the USA. Consider places such as Oxford, Cambridge a little further out Norwich, Winchester and if you can stay for a day or so outside London maybe York, Edinburgh, Cardiff and if you can Belfast.
i live in London and watching you two makes me see it through fresh eyes! you are both such a joy
Love watching you enjoy London, have fun!
Nice to have you visit the UK, hope you get to visit again and explore the many other interesting Towns and Cities around the UK. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
I live in the UK. The leaves normally fall in September/October but we had a heatwave so the leaves have been falling earlier this year!
I am excited for this one!

When I visit other cities in the U.S. & countries abroad I love getting a tour on the Big Red bus (where available) to see a layout of the city. Then the next days go to the sites of interest.
Absolutely love London!!! It’s such a great walkable place. Plus the bus system and the underground is fabulously user friendly! Just remember to “Mind the gap”!
P.s. Be sure and try a proper scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam…..I’m so jealous😂
Not just 'mind the gap'. Mind the druggies, psycho's, drunks, pick pockets and beggars.

Love London. Enjoy. Thanks for sharing your journey. 💖
The tall thin tower you saw was the BT Tower - a communications tower of height: 581 feet (or 620 feet, including the aerial rigging.) It was built in 1964, and due to its importance as a telecommunications asset, it's location was originally an 'official secret' (despite the fact it's clearly visible from miles around,) and in a court case in 1978, the judge ruled that it couldn't be identified by name and was only allowed to be referred to as "Location 23"
Welcome to London. Virgin is the best british airline so good choice. Only first time vistors use black cabs from Heathrow. Train is only £10 into town and quicker too.
Leaves are dropping because we are having a drought.
you are correct on all 5 counts.

Fantastic narration and a great video. Love you guys. Love from the UK.
Y'all be safe and have fun 😊❤️
14:30 fall doesn't happen earlier, there has been a drought this summer in London, so the trees dropped leaves early as they had no water. Trees usually loose leaves in November.
I have to say Alisa I love your short hair! I can not wait to get back across the pond. I am spoiled, we are home from a cruise and now I want to plan our next adventure. Y'all are cute! Have a fun straight away! Fall? Fall is November in N. Alabama!

Welcome to the Uk, hope you have the most amazing time. i love my country x
I live right by Heathrow airport and it can take hours to travel 14 miles from home into central London depending on how awful the roads are on that day. Living here all 48 years of my life, I love London and my favourite restaurant is on Charlotte street, MERE by Monica Galletti. Amazing food and people. Happy travels xxx
So did I for 25 years. The area changed so much during that period I began to think I was living in Mumbai.
48 years Emma? Bo youngsters,PLEASE😀
Loving your videos and so pleased you're in our home town...Hopefully you've found out by now that the reason no one was eating in the pubs, wasnt because the food was bad, just that its the time people mostly drink after a day at work. The food in London is excellent. Also the leaves are on the floor because of the extreme heat we've had these last 6 weeks and the trees have been shedding them before they would do normally! Keep up the great work guys and looking forward to more...
Err, maybe the lack of rain had something to do with it.
@@baylessnow of course, but thats the other side of the equation..the heatwaves meant little or no rain which meant the trees have been unable to support the continued leaf growth..so they shed them...
Oh I’m enjoying these so much thank you for sharing all of your travels you’re doing a great
I very much enjoyed this video. Thank you so much!
Looking forward to your vlogs from England but CANT WAIT to see them from the Prima!! We are loyal NCL and have booked her out of Galveston in early 2024 for our 30th wedding anniversary. So cant wait to see those. Plus i have a bucket list to hit Ireland and Liverpool so would be a great ship i think to do that. Cant wait to see the new deck and outside design for that deck. The layout of the ship seems cool AND loved that instead of making the new "biggest ship in the world" they kept capacity down and focused on guest common areas and the rooms bigger
Would love to be on this ship, the Viva is due next :) ruclips.net/user/shortsaQW7EXgSE7s
Great reaction to your first day in London. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
I want to point out that the leaves on the ground aren’t due to autumn kicking in. The trees have dropped their dead dry leaves because of the hot dry summer we’ve just had. It’s the way they cope with drought although to those who don’t know, it might look like autumn’s come early. Most native trees in the U.K.usually lose their leaves from mid October through to mid November.
It's so nice seeing you travel around my work area.
You two look SO happy!
"Get to know the local culture"... walks into Starbucks, lol. Seriously though, as a Londoner, watching your enthusiastic first impressions of London was great- I hope you enjoyed your trip...🙂
If you want to experience the 'local culture' head for the council estates in South London. TIP: Wear a stab proof vest inside your shirt.
Our 1st time to London was in 2019. We took the tube from the airport, with one change over, to our AIRBnB near Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. We did it with my parents who were almost 80, plenty of luggage and it saved us a lot of money. We were up for an adventure, and it turned out great, and pretty easy to do. I think it took us a little over an hour. The tube is a great way to get around. Next time, give it a try. They generally eat dinner later in the evening in Europe, closer to 8. We had great pub food like fish & chips, savory pies, bangers & mash. Also better priced we felt in the pubs then in the restaurants. There is so much to see & do in London, which I'm sure you're discovering. I see you also met up with Stef which is great!!!! Enjoy every moment of your trip! - Coreen
