I have lived in 4 different countries the UK being one of them, each country has its beauty spots that is the wonderful fact of our planet. I worked in the port of Piraeus Greece for 7 years & watched huge cruise ships coming in & out with the glistening Mediterranean as a back drop. I flew into Heathrow last summer & saw the Thames' brown water glisten, I smiled as despite the contrast I love London & love the Thames regardless. Sitting at a pub on the river be it Chiswick, Richmond is a pleasure.

I’m a retired hairstylist and I saw the video on your hair a few weeks ago. I have worked with many women whom have had to shave their heads due to cancer treatments. I have cut their hair about four times in the weeks prior to them losing it and ultimately shaving it. I start them with a bit shorter than what they originally had and each week I take it shorter and shorter so that they can see and feel what they have to look forward to as their hair returns. Many women keep their hair short as it’s so easy to care for. I just wanted to tell you that your short hair looks beautiful on you. It make s your gorgeous eyes come alive. So rock that short hair and give up the wig[ugh). Your beautiful without it
Enjoy the rest of your trip ,Mary.

    Just a couple of things
    1. It's perfectly acceptable to dip your chips in ketchup it isn't a wrong thing to do.
    2. The prices you got your food for in Weymouth can easily be found in London when you're not in the Central tourist area. Those prices (in Weymouth) are actually more expensive than I pay in my local area in the suburbs of Greater London

Portland is where much of the stone for important historical buildings comes from in England. The Victoria memorial outside Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral are built of Portland stone - pretty much any big important white stone building is made from that stone.

At 8:00 are shown the beach lifeguards with their 2 rescue boats provided by the charity the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The lifeguards are paid for the summer season, but most boat crews are unpaid volunteers. At 15:27 in the background is the ocean going 'Severn' class lifeboat. The new 'Shannon' class version costs a cool £2.2 million funded entirely from public donations (and money left in wills). The RNLI are a highly respected organisation and feature in a BBC tv series of their work called 'Saving Lives at Sea'.

Grew up on Pasty's in Michigan. Ours have rutabaga's in them, no potato's even though we have a huge potato presence. You can get them plain, ketchup on the side or gravy. The history of handpies, from all over, were hearty enclosed sandwiches that men would take to work that would be eaten hot or cold. Like empanadas that most people recognize. Or Polish peirogi Different forms of hand food eaten hot or cold.

I'm from up North and I went on a couple of holidays to Weymouth and Poole as a kid, which probably seems weird to someone who lives near them lol! They were good holidays though! On the way back up North, I think from Poole, when getting a taxi to the train station, I have a vivid memory of a taxi driver recommending a place called Rockley for the year after. I was only 8 years old at the time but I always remembered the name conversation, and I just googled "Rockley" to confirm it is an actual place in Dorset, and I didn't just imagine that interaction 20 odd years ago haha! We never actually ended up going though - it was Blackpool every year after that!

We like to have at least four weeks a year in Weymouth there is always things to do and every year we discover something new. You only scratched the surface of the area but that is the downside of cruising. But always leave with things undone and places to visit for the next holiday. hope we see you in the UK again. PS we live near Cambridge a place well worth a visit next time

Up until a few years back.Portland was the Royal Naval base where all ships did 6 weeks Work-UP before they joined the fleet(now done at Plymouth). It was hard work, and if you failed inspection day at sea.You had extra weeks until you passed. The navies throughout Europe sent their ships for training. And sometimes the USN ASWELL.

Glad you liked Weymouth. The band you saw on the Quayside was likely either a Brass or Silver band

I love your video! It is informative and interesting without annoying background music that so many people put in! I’ll be in Portland Weymouth in April so this gave me loads of info. I have also subscribed. Thanks guys!

As a regular visitor to Weymouth I really enjoyed your video.. A really good insight from the visitors who have been to the town from the cruise ships that visit.

I am a local taxi and tour driver in Weymouth. I drove some people from your cruise to Stone Henge. I'm so glad that you found and enjoyed so much of my home town that alot of tourists never bother with. With more time and transportation to get about there are loads of other places to visit so come back soon

Such a shame you didn't get to explore Portland. I live there over looking the port.
Portland is an amazing unique place with lovely coves and pirate grave yard to explore. There are thousands of cruise visitors missing out on so much on Portland .

I agree more should be done to allow the passengers to be at least aware of Portland uniqueness
