i first got to your channel cuz i was listening to your fear and hunger videos while folding laundry, you have such a particular way to do storytelling that i envisioned the game in a completely different perspective and manner than what it was, it got me OBSESSED with the franchise to an undescribable degree. and you're getting me hooked and reeled back into signalis after barely understanding it just like that. you're an incredibly talented and cool person, and you're getting a new backer reaaal soon. have an awesome day.

some ling-uistic pareidolia: Leng and Ling in English are basically the same word as Long, as in the fish ling and lingcod or words like Linger and Lengthen. Linger of course has connotations of staying unwanted or past one's time. Even more tenuously there's a connection to Stephen King's "The Jaunt", in which apparently instantaneous space travel takes 'longer than you think' and can lead to eye trauma.

Your theory is much better than anyone else's that I've heard, or at least I prefer it to everything else! One of them being that they're both just off in space and this is just some dream Ariane is having and transferring to Elster via bioresonance while they're both dying 😕 Loved the little cosplay/roleplay parts, they were very cute! This video took several more hours than the total video time across three days to watch, and it was well worth it (I had to pause and rewind severak times due to a combination of text on screen + can't focus on what you're saying at the same time + the density of information is very high at times, you just sort of have to pause to take it all in I think ahah)

I'm at 4 hours, 35 minutes! I really haven't enjoyed anything that's happened in this story, but i'm holding out hope that there's a happy ending of some kind.

Incredible video. i played the game at release, but really had no idea how deep it went. I think that if Adler's gender represents anything, it could be an explanation for why hes more resistant to having his mind overwritten by the Elster pattern despite being noted as particularly susceptible to bioresonance-- maybe we're meant to see him as more different to elster than the other replikas (all females with light skin and dark hair just like elster).

This was an absolutely wild experience. I have never played this game and only knew by cultural osmosis that it was a popular sci-horror game. The quality of your previous videos easily convinced me to take the 6.5 hour plunge. I was never bored and your depth of research was SO impressive. This game, with its dense network of themes and references, definitely deserves the video length. Excellent job and looking forward to more!

Others have probably said this far more eloquently than I, but thank you for both your fascinating analysis of Signalis and all the interesting work you've published in general

What I like about this game is that everything is experienced through a diegetic lense of what the penrose duo were reading, writing, and listening to. The music, the literature, the paintings, the *this space intentionally left blank* which really feeds back into the circular nature of the game.

Six hours and my takeaway is "Akira, but with Replicants" I feel like it hinges too much on the player seeing the synths as people, and that's not in my vocabulary, so I appreciate the excellent video, and the $20 I saved.

I fucking love this series of "what happens in these awesome games." Thank you.
