Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a turn-based survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Struggle to survive in a harsh, persistent, procedurally generated world. Scavenge the remnants of a dead civilization for food, equipment, or, if you are lucky, a vehicle with a full tank of gas to get you the hell out of Dodge. Fight to defeat or escape from a wide variety of powerful monstrosities, from zombies to giant insects to killer robots and things far stranger and deadlier, and against the others like yourself, that want what you have…

Who was quite proficient with the bow
there were zombies about
but the girl didn't pout
she dispatched them with a few arrows
since this has started they made more ferals in one of the patches and its made the mall experience way more difficult. the ferals will open the metal utility corridor doors and lead a horde to you.
That sounds terrifying.
@@mutantwormgirland a good chunk of them are the new “Feral Cop” variant which hits hard, moves fast, and blows a whistle to call more zombies to its position
Yeah... This forced me to live on the upper floors for a while. But hey at least feral cops drop bandages and good armor.
Oh right because malls weren't difficult enough. Now there are ferals there that can OPEN THE DOORS
Also some of the zombie mall cop still knows how to use their Beretta...
At least they don't know how to reload...
Yours is the only playthrough of this game that hasn't bored me to tears. Really love your RP style and commentary. Congratulations on the sub count, you definitely deserve it!
Have you watched Rycon? He has a similar style
@@YourPalKindred The little expository cut-ins worm girl does for both gameplay and reference obscura really help keep my attention, versus what I've seen from Rycon, although Rycon does have a nice wealth of content
I guess since Rycon's done so many series, it wouldn't make much sense to discuss basic mechanics, though - I do wonder if WG is going to maintain that element in future series
I do also wonder how WG is going to handle the first in-series character loss, since Rycon tends to be fairly easy-come easy-go with characters, at least as of recent

i was skeptical of "pivot to video" but this ended up being one of my favorite ongoing series

A kayak on the river... I stayed the hell away from water every time I played, but from your CDDA SSLP, I feel like I'd want at least a battleship between myself and the horrors of the black deeps.
Been waiting for this. Not sure if you are running this on a potato or not but I can never get enough of Rycon's videos and you are the ONLY other person that does this, even if you've only done it with CDDA so far. Heck I don't care if it's only CDDA or various other games as well, I just love this and I can never have enough CDDA.

Dont know if you have been told before, but you can use the favorite system to practically automate the inventory tedium. You just favorite the things you want to keep with you, then there is a key to drop all but favorite items. Hope this helps!
New here. Just binged this playlist over the last few days. Really enjoying it so far. Very helpful information. One thing I wanted to mention about using bow type weapons is you can set up auto loot/pick up for your arrows or bolts so you aren't having to loot corpses every time you kill something.

I think I am going for bows than guns for default long range.
While I would only use a gun to a mutated monster... since I just realized I have spent most of my 7.62×51mm and any .300 magnum to the standard Zs. And they are So rare that I only find them mostly in Military camps or untouched gun shops.
And with silence, I could shoot them far back without drawing the usual horde to me.
You may place glass shards as is or make caltrops out em for security and trapping matters

Is it possible to get parts from some of these cars and fix up the forklift? If you could fire the bow and steer with your knees, you'd become a forklift Mongolian menace!
Little tip: I'm not sure if I'm just being tricked with how fast you do things but I've noticed you seem to pulp zombies in dangerous situations before catching your breath and checking your surroundings. You have usually around 6 hours (I think it's varied and not a completely set time) before zombies get back up and getting your stamina back is way more immediate. I feel you though, the big symbol over the bodies tells my brain I must smash immediately
Yeah, I actually made a lot of little mistakes in this episode that started to add up. You can see me forgetting to switch back to walking a bunch, and I kept not looking at stamina before lining up a bow shot. Definitely some of my sloppier play, I'll need to be careful.

The tileset comes with the game. The soundpack is the music from cc-sounds and the sfx from @'s soundpack: github.com/damalsk/damalsksoundpack/releases

@@AbstractTraitorHero the "catapult" launcher can help you manage soundpacks, mods, and multiple Cataclysm releases, though if you want to work with cataclysm directly without the use of external tools, the folder you want to put the soundpack in is [cataclysm folder]/data/sound, so that you have the path "data/sound/CC-sounds" or "data/sound/@'s soundpack", or similar
