I once had a Utilitarian Movement. I accidentally walked into that room where Jeremy Bentham's stuffed corpse is stored, and it startled me so bad that I shat myself.
Also, I seem to remember that at one point Britain would turn EIC into British Raj either after the rebellion or when Britain reaches level 5 Colonial Institution. I don't know if that is still the case, but I kinda remember that happening to me once.
@@ardenwarwick1087 unless it's changed since the GB run that I did right before the update came out the requirements are: EITHER the EIC fails their journal event OR GB has lvl 5 colonial, it's only effects are the name change, setting them to puppet for free, and switching them to another bureaucrat law, all of which is very easily accomplished far earlier than either of the prereqs
26:30 apparently the British East-india company had access to armoured cars in 1884 I choose to believe the general just confused the hell out of everyone present by driving in with one of those wooden Leonardo da Vinci tanks
This was quite the enjoyable video to watch. Rather frustrating to see you just get forced to become the Raj without having a say in it but the fact that you managed to outdo the UK in every possible metric makes it quite the revenge.
in 1858 the East india company was effectively dissolved when the british crown found out how badly run india was after a number of massacres during riots. In the aftermath, in order to re-establish order and quell unrest, the crown took direct control and established the british raj. So yes the independance desire is probably what triggered it here.
19:45 As Qing or India or even Japan in some cases is that you basically just ignore the fact that you still 30 billion peasants everywhere and the only welfare you do get is Old Age Pensions for the -5% workforce ratio and try to avoid giving women rights as you want to keep the workforce ratio low so the population growth doesn't sweep you away, but fundamentally, industrializing as India or China will quite literally drain the world of resources long before you've industrialized much of the country.
I managed to complete that mission when the game came out, with a few tries. What worked was that I had to change a bunch of laws and that pissed off the landowners. They rose up civil war style but GB came in and pounded them for me. After that I had no trouble from landowners when it came to passing laws.
I don't wanna watch the full video but I wanna ask some questions. I am having A VERY HARD TIME increasing bureaucracy as india, the population grows super fast, nobody wants to become bureaucrats and everyone is a peasant or a slave... how did you manage to fix this in the video
what i strongly dislike about some events in victoria is that they just turn up at weird timing, I have no problems with the social events but whyyy does the krakatoa eruption keeps happening at random dates? Also i think there should be stricter conditions for dictate journal entries so it's a little more consistent, it's not eu4
they actually do! they start as "hindustan", a very small city with the empire government rank. they even have an achievement "Azadi: As the Mughal Empire, complete the Prisoner of the Red Fort journal entry, expel the British, and bring all of India under your control."

Today I learned they have a stuffed corpse on display.
Population growth outpacing job creation is still an issue for India.

Only 2 states have replacing pop growth
But those two have above 200mil pop
Not really, the birth rate is 2.0 now.
Have you tried not feeding them?
1 bil in the thumbnail and you actually got 1 bil gdp, impossible
had to give people a break from the clickbaiting
Novel idea. Can’t see it catching on.
@@Quarbit I do legitimately appreciate it
I remember fondly the September Revolution where Russia's two anarchist communes relegated the nobility to Karelia

49:54 oh yes, my favorite country, the Buton Nihilist Revolt
"Nothing really matters and we are mad about it"
Let's goo love me some Victoria content! Missing the hat and monocle though
"We want to encourage agricultural industry because it'll help people not starve" most ahistorical sentence in an EIC game
36:32 no the british just reached level 5 colonial affairs
Jamshedji Tata being the ruler makes perfect sense LMAO
Hell yeah! India superpower by 1920!

29:00 I’m fairly sure Gandhi leads the salt march, so not jailing him is probably for the best.
thank you for the video, i really really enjoy your long form content and even learn a lot from it ❤
I can't believe Lightning McQueen and Mater managed to seize control of Russia.
47:40 Nah they added a Jojo's reference?

That surprise Caste System came out of nowhere. Thanks for the video

Why did you never take Goa :( The idea of a global hegemon just not bothering with a colonial hangover like that hurts
I forgot they had goa
Love how a city in Turkey is in charge of all Russia now. Fantastic game!
You know who else you can turn into a superpower.... Vinland, its Vinland.

I am still unsure how you got 10 SoL so easly with high tax. I just can't cut it, and I have very low tax and go bankrupt :(
