If you gonna make a video about Venail to Aelnar then I highly recomend not to avoid the crisis and pick Calasandur, but marry Lithiel. That way you'll have both their mission trees after Calasandur dies
I recently played as Larankar and the story of Erankar is purely awesome, his homeland being attacked multiple times from every single side at once, he somehow managed to defeat the coalition thus earning the nicnkame "the Defiant" for defying Urvand's grim fate and throught steps of the MT you can see that world throws everything it can at him to stop him from existing, even the Oracle that told Laskaris his future, did show Erankar only grim fate. I hugely recommend everyone to play as Larankar, hella fun.
Absolutely, while Laskaris is big on fulfilling his destiny of conquering Taychend and accepting his death, Erankar goes against this, when it seems like he should succumb to Taychendi warlordism, he instead survives, hence "the Defiant", as he defies his destiny of failure. Doing a Larankar playthrough rn, its so fun.

I think you are mistaken, ship engagement width is the strongest naval mod. Edit to clarify: Unlike in land battles, engagement width is independent, thus having a higher engagement width is a massive force multiplier. English Man-o-wars, flagships, etc, they all give you a benefit where your ships can engage while the enemy can't
Naval engagement is yea but I think it increases the ships individual width by 1 so it's twice the size of a regular galley. Which would make sense given that it's 100% larger

That Socrates reference in the Troublesome Debater event also has a Diogenes reference with the chicken bit. Dude was a genius crazy homeless person who burst into Plato's Academy with a chicken who he had plucked the feathers off of and proudly proclaimed "Behold! A Man!" to own the student of Socrates for trying to describe man in as few words as possible and arriving at 'featherless biped'. Dude also insulted Alexander the Great to his face, and he loved it.

@@k_aesar I thought that Jaher of the Phoenix Empire was Anbennar's version of Alexander the Great. With how he came from the west, conquered the entire Middle East/Bulwar really quickly and then it collapsed into a number of split states led by his generals after his death.
Ameion is essentially an alexander the great type of campaign, it's often referred to as it in the community because it takes inspiration real life macedon of philip II and his son Alexander.
Man, Anbennar has changed to much, i have been playing it since pre-Haless update, and i put easy over 1k hours into just the mod it self. Really happy you are doing more Anbennar!
Yeah this is a pretty fun start. I'll probably pull it out in an MP with some friends, I've been getting it down to a science. Larankar is giga difficult though. I genuinely don't know how you are supposed to get the missions done before Erankar dies, and when he does, you're probably going to have to fight an enormous coalition, and you will have drained all your manpower fighting Ameion and the other Taychendi warlords nonstop for 20 - 30 years straight. And Erankar doesn't have a guaranteed time of death so even though he's younger than Laskaris he tends to die sooner.
Larankar missions are kind of brutal and rely on getting good luck with alliance chains and your rivals conquests more than anything else, even with good luck (after my 1st Ameion war one of their neighbours took the rest of their Tachyend land so I could quickly grab only their islands for the 2nd) I just barely completed it in Erankars lifetime with a little bit of save scumming and it left me almost bankrupt and fighting hordes of rebels for years. Towards the end you basically need to be declaring on everybody on the subcontinent at the same time. One thing that's definitely worth doing is vassalizing that green nation to your east, their war wizard can be super helpful.
@@NileP2804 Yeah, it makes me wish they had some sort of life extension mechanic for Erankar because, despite his whole thing being he rejects the notion of destiny, and he's constantly striving to make a name for himself by his own will, you're totally at the mercy of "oops, training accident" 5 years in. Should be something like Erankar refuses to die until he loses a battle that he is leading, then you have a lot of actual control over the situation, and it is a neat inverse to Laskaris who himself becomes grievously wounded if he loses in battle to Erankar. Or something to that effect. You should be able to get a good, long life out of Erankar, its no fun when you don't even get a decade with him because of complete RNG.

Humbly submitting for your consideration for the Elf video: Azkare > Sunrise Empire. Yes, they are a majority human country, but hear me out: that makes them the most perfect encapsulation of the essence of anbennar Elves. I mean, their presence is a relic of an old, morally questionable empire (Phoenix Empire), they are in a foreign land, yet they decided that they know what's good for the locals than the locals themselves. They embark onto a campaign of "liberation", build a "democracy" that is still elf-diminated, and all that despite there being like, 3 and a half of them on a good day. If that's not elven as fuck, idk what is
I'm quite interested in the elves living in the big mind-controlling jungle north of where you played here. I really hope they'll get content in the update.
Fun Fact: the ward elves lived in warded cities, because they were prisoners, the reason their cities are so different is because each was a separate prison with different types of prisoners in them, rebels, thugs, scammers, scholars/mages/"influencers" that did a bad or run afoul of the government and so when collapse happened they revolted took over the prisons and survived the apocalypse before things cooled enough to venture out
Have you ever played Urviksten? They're basically the viking heirs to Black Castanor, and they have ebonsteal armored units which basically ignore a lot of fire damage. They're definitely fun, but you do have several rather difficult fighhts at the start.

Just go with whatever race you like. The only universal advice I can give is don't play the dwarves if you don't like disasters. Cause they have a lot of them. A lot of them. Or play the dwarves if you like the challenge of dealing with multiple crippling disasters in one campaign 😅
It worked nice when showing some parts of the map, when Quarbit was explaining the lore at the beginning, but was completely unnecessary when zooming on the menus.

I think it increases how much width the Degárikes take up. If it increased it like a flagship, they wouldn't take any width, which seems overpowered.

Which elves are you planning on? Ibevar has space marines but plays pretty tall and The Jadd is still probably my favorite anbennar experience.

To hand off provinces to vassals quickly hold "c" or whatever your accept button is down. It's also useful for boosting monuments late-game.
