"To be fair, every time I boot up EU4, I'm basically playing humans." Well, yeah, but those are just crummy old people in a real world history full of war and crimes against humanity. We're talking about humans in a cool, magical fantasy world full of war and crimes against everyone.
The fact that the game is basically punishing you for killing a pretty decent heir, all things considered, is actually hilarious. Regarding those things, it's not like finding El Dorado because, as I understand it, in EU4 you have a percentage chance to find them and they could just not spawn in a playthrough. On the other hand, the God Fragment and the Pillar of Heaven are just things that are guaranteed to spawn each playthrough.
I was interested in Eborthil, the nation that found both the Pillar and Fragment. They seem to have Viking flavor but also seem to be in a poor spot to explore, is it normal for them to go west and expand a lot?
33:40 I actually did play Jaddari as my first anbennar run. The economic situation at the start is a bit dicey, I found myself repeatedly invading the gnolls to my south for cash for the first century or so. It's really fun, and the harpy-fucker memes are funny, but the mission tree is *so long*, probably best to start with a nation that doesn't feel like a 9 to 5 if you wanna see all the content.
Dude, you introduced me to Anbennar, and I haven't stopped playing it since. Would LOVE to see you play Iron Sceptre -> Esthil -> Black Demesne, but that'd be a long game. So anyways, here's to you, Quarbit, for introducing me to this amazing mod!
@@Quarbit I was thinking that maybe Québécois are metric supremacist (it would be on brand for them to try be as different from English speaking Canadians as possible), so I am quite surprised. :p
Canadians are kinda stuck with random bits of freedom units because our economy is too integrated with the USA. So, like our raw lumber is in feet, so our construction industry uses feet. Canadians think of height in cm, feet/inches, and stories (depending on the scale). We know it's dumb. Metric better. The stores also sell measuring cups and such with American definitions of units, which makes following any recipe a guessing game. "Do they mean Canadian cups (250ml) or American cups (235ish)"
These events your getting with the god fragment and the gateway to the stars are very much determined (the provinces themselves are semi random but are guaranteed). Fun fact: The god fragment event puts a MTTH event that triggers near the end of the Age of Unraveling (The Ravelians spawn, aka the Cube Worshippers). The gateway to the stars is just one of many precursor elven ruins that are found as Alentir gets reclaimed. Once the Victoria 3 version is fully released, you'll be able to go colonize other planets and possibly find the descendants of the Precursor Empire.
@@Bleilock1yeah the map is mostly finished. There is also a lot of lore added on such as the Star Elves being super racist and being banished to the middle of nowhere in a floating city and a huge war called the blackpowder revolution just happened which was artificers vs mages that shook up Cannor.

I once played the previous version of this mod on the older Crusader Kings game. I played a Kobold nation, united all the different Kobolds, and went on a crusade against all humanity and subjugated them while enforcing the religion of thinking dragons are cool.
Calling Lawgiver neutral feels off considering having any integrated races gives more autonomy to a province. At least for this country it’s probably not too needed but it’s pretty useful for this mod in particular overall
definitely useful as a modifier (especially when it's permanent), but less so as a leader trait when there are more impactful things to get in this moment imo
Company of the Thorn into Luciande is a unique and very interesting campain I absolutely recommend. I won't spoil much but it might involve some bloodthirsty creatures that hide among humans.
I used to do that, but I found that I prefer sorting by autonomy because sometimes you end up reducing autonomy from like 15 -> 0 when it isn't necessary, if you spam click through it the other way (it doesn't sort all actionable provinces by autonomy, which is annoying)
if you're going to play as humans please play as esthil, they are starting in Castanor as adventurers called ''iron spectre'(i probably wrote their name wrong) you get a woman called Varina as your heir after forming esthil, she can become a lich(basically immortal) and leads an undead army. After forming esthil you can form a 3rd country called black demense, it has a lot of lore and a lot of missions/things to do
Other Tags I'd suggest: Conquest Heavy: Venail The Command Lake Federation is quite unique too, depending which culture you are you have 3 total splinter tags for options, or keeping the federation together starts a WC through diplomacy and for democracy. You even start the Revolution very early. Any Dwarf with a MT (Arg Ordstun is newest) Northern Goblin into All Clan (All are interesting, but Spiderwretch is weird and doesn't quite mesh)

Centaurs respect your time as there are no wait untill 1600y missons and only time gate is 1500 to form mongol emprie on crack, I mean literaly, those guys are hun atilla from roman nightmares. Pure cav carnage as centaurs do not have infantry at all and gameplay style that demands war above all, starting missions are all about uniting forbiden plains giving you manpower for sieging centaur forts, uniting centaurkind, becoming scourge of iradeos (make sure to pick trampling option in gozlamoir system). And then you hit year 1500 become the great storm and things become juicy as mission tree gives huge rewards for murdering people, by the end of mission tree stacking all the battle scars those guys can take on rest of the world at once and win, good thing considering size of coalitions that are after your ass.
@@xzardas541 Quick question: Is murdering people even good or viable in this game or should you just play wholesome Chungus 100 reddit multiracial playthrough? It seems like you get a lot of bad events and dev loss for purging races and integrating races is way easier and more worthwhile. Kind of wanted to do a human purge campaign as Khozrugan (Orc), but just ended up accepting everyone because the purge was taking too long. Humans are now like 80% of my realm lmao
@@Hotasianchick Not worth it, not worth it at all, event tick for majority purged is 5475 days 50% with focus and reduced up to 90% with amount of provinces with purged culture 90% at 100 provinces. Always great to see more Anbennar! As for humans, the only nation I've played was Wineport. They have a somewhat tricky start dwarfed by Lorent, but the mission tree is pretty chill and funny, being all about producing and trading in wine. I also found that missions are sometimes whacky in this kind of mods. I remember one time when I played as Asturias in Ante Bellum and was doing a reconquista against Andalusia. But I didn't follow the conquest order from the mission tree, instead I focussed on the best provinces first (trade centers, gold mine, forts) and cleared the rest later. So at one point I took Cordoba (Andalusian capital) and still needed 2-3 wars to fully control Iberia. Then, when I finally did it, I could complete the mission that triggered the fall of Cordoba event. It reduced its development by half or so, gave it a bunch of devastation and moved my capital there. It had been under my control for at least 30 years at that point, yet apparently the joy of destroying Andalusia caused my people to sack their own city -.-
well Quarbit, just so you know, the God Fragment thingy is related to the Ravelian Church, a late-game 'reformed' faith which crops up in the 1650's that's basically Catholicism (cardinal and curia included) to match with the first reformation faith of Corinite. The community also calls it THE CUBE and it inspires rabid hatred or worship in a segment of the community.
A good human species to play would be Order of the Iron Scepter in West Canor. They are an adventuring band that do umm.... Necromancy stuff. Definitely unique in terms of humans because there's a heavy amount of magic usage and gameplay.
Would love to see a second part, or a stream that continues them, played the other religious gnolls lately and they are super interesting even though the religion will get reworked, the current is still super cool. Would recommend you try them out, and try to form the greater xahk or so by summening the demon.
