I really like how you weaved character dialogues in between gameplay and decision making, like saying Kirk should rest up for a day then having his portrait pop up and say "nah I'm good." Really adds a lot to these characters and makes them a lot more likable than a lot of other series like this
I think what I love most about this series and your approach to roleplay is how it replicates the tone of Romero's first three dead movies, especially Dawn before the bikers show up. The way things sit on a razors edge between horror/violent outburst and genuine levity. I havent seen many pieces of media in general manage to capture those same feelings and i absolutely love it.

Haven't caught the last few episodes but I LOVE what you are doing with this series, the little character moments really go a long way. Your narration is also much more relaxed than these RPs typically are which I really appreciate. Do you narrate as you record or after the fact?

I started playing Cataclysm a few months after Whales’ first public release and had zero interest in any of the lore for years, until reading your screenshot LPs. Thank you for all your work on them, and for this series. Can’t wait to see how things go for this crew!

Jabberwocks are the new players run enders... Unless the aftermentioned Jabberwock walks into a landmine... It strangely has happened more than once to me... At least the quest giver never asks how it's dead, only wants the result...
Mines are a cool little location and I like how the desk drawers are all personalized but man they are way way too common (and there should not be random veins of lava in the modular mindshaft lol). Still it's one of the nicest places to settle in when you're a scared early game newbie survivor since they typically do not contain jabberwocks.
Riot armor suit can't be repaired as a suit, but it can be disassembled into components like arm guards, leg guards and chest guard. If it's condition was not too bad you might get lucky and get all the components which you then can reassemble into full condition riot armor. But there is a chance that some peices will be not recovered on disassembly.
I think my play was a little sloppy in this episode and the next one. I noticed a few things like this during editing that might make life a lot easier in future eps.
@@mutantwormgirl no worry at all. C:DDA is full of those minor and non obvious things easy to miss. Also... I just love how at the end there is a demonstration how this game is evolving. Like when you ventured into formerly unexplored area to hunt the Jabber there was a better map gen with actually gradual road bends, and when you got closer to the start where the map was already generated by less sophisticated algorithm you got choppy 45degree turns again.
I love your series; I watch several, and this is probably the one I like the most. I hope you had time to make it more frequently. By the way, do you use the undead people tileset? The times I've tried it, the characters came out bald or always blond... Is that why your character is blond?
It's one of the scenarios. I believe it's "large building." You can select your specific starting spot on the far right tab in character creation, where you see your character sheet.

@@mutantwormgirl Zomboid is pretty good but struggles to keep me occupied in the "end game", though that's a common theme with most Early Access games that I've played.
I think part of it was bad play by me, I had him following at 4 tiles and didn't realize I wasn't moving up far enough, so he sat there a bit longer than he needed to.
just can't enough of this series great little interactions just make the characters feel so much more real and you do a great job at it.

I improv the lines while recording gameplay, but I usually redo them after. I'm not very good live.
