That 2 AM feel where you're packing in the middle of the night and have the (ir)rational fear you forgot something important just as you're leaving. Even in the zombie apocalypse some things never change.
if your planning to live in the mall long term, it might be worth setting up an electric grid, you can use the building window with pliers or a multi tool to reveal wiring, and can then plug in some solar panels from the roof and a battery through the build menu as well (a car battery will do), then set up a fridge or freezer, a standing light will let you turn on the room lights, and you could connect a hotplate to the makeshift grid to cook with as well.
Wait what, I question always why when I check the fridge or any electrical unit and they always had an option to attach at something, so it has an actual use? Man, This a great find.
Now it can be even more flexible with extension cords. Extension cords can be daisy-chained and walls with wiring are completely optional. And given the changes with regard to how cables work, you can now charge some electronics with grid power. You can activate a smartphone, select manage cables and then select the grid and the smartphone will draw power from the grid (at a certain rate). This works with devices that can swap batteries so you can charge batteries.

Adore Kirk & Mel, super awesome to see that Mel finally having an actual friend so she won't go insane alone in the utter darkness of the mall. Maybe she can even try to clean up all the blood around her living space, get some lights or something set up. Would love to have her homeifying her little backroom & making space for Kirk in there as well honestly.
I’ve been waiting! I gotta say the visuals have grown on me over the series. And I’m appreciating your storytelling even more, works well with my ADHD brain.
Wow I just finished binging this series after starting it 2 days ago and not only was it a fun and well told story, but also it worked really well at getting me, someone who has only had fleeting interest in Cataclysm: DDA in the past, into the game. I really hope you do more content on this game in the future :3
First time to the channel; this is exactly the kind of lets play I like. Not blasting loud, screaming, over the top energy - I like a nice chill session, very relaxing almost bordering on ASMR. Excellent stuff, subbed. 🙂
It'll be hard when you got emotionally attached on a survivor, specially in a CDDA gameplay.. specially when the time comes when their luck runs out. Either fighting to death, accidents or anything that the character would be perished by. However, It is fun when Mel is doing Progress and getting more proficient than what she had started when she just got out the normal life as a model.
fantastic series so far, its a wormgirl special, the title totally got me i thought i know after the whole explenation about NPC's getting bad rep and then the death at the end that never happened. great way to fool people :D.

One thing I noticed where I might even have a tip you don't know about yet: when you were looking for the item around you that had the sawing quality, you could've searched in the item menu (CRTL+V, then /), and typed "q:sawing". The filters for crafting work in the item view as well!
Whenever I jam a gun safe I bring a welding torch to it. You don't have to worry about ammo cook-off if you pick it all up really quickly! It's safe I swear...

Oh man, If only I knew the settings, I always got my NPCs die when we go in the area with huge population or a very dangerous enemy, they sometimes even throw their melee weapons or their firearms when they don't have ammo, they rush ahead just to loot, to stomp the dead and they follow me without shutting the doors, which is why in the most part I go solo without experimenting further, but with this I guess I can try to resume finding more survivors with me, i heard that there's also bandits but, I still never met them yet.

Rycon's style is like a Monologue and with a deep story of a survivor and a Narrator not attached to a single character but in a third party. Worm girl's style is like playing an LN game with records of diaries for the RP, though sometimes she goes for a third party, she also and mostly go for the first person's perspective of the reactions, while the Narrator is somehow well versed at Firearm's details. It is a cool difference and I like it both.
You'll get the difference when you watch a lot of CDDA gameplay stories, the way they interact, they RP, they plan and how they express it. There's a lot of CDDA stories not just in the Video media but also in Texts of the players who survived the near impossible to the simplest thing as being a starter, that's how i get the difference of the story telling of the two creators @@billyhelbert6686
Hello! I play CDDA too so i have a question-How to open a safe? Previously, this could be done with a stethoscope or a jackhammer. I have both, but the game says that I "do not have suitable items with enough charges"
Jackhammers got a little screwy with a recent update, their fuel isn't providing enough power for them to do basic tasks. Try a gas-powered one with a full tank, and if that's not working, go get a heavy sledge hammer or other high-damage blunt weapon and try bashing the safe open. You can also use an acetylene torch loaded with a welding tank, but beware this will start a small fire in the safe. You will need to use a fire extinguisher to put out the fire when you're done, or the ammo will begin to cook off! Stethoscopes only work on regular safes, not electronic or gun safes. A gun safe uses a traditional key lock and requires lockpicks to open.
Surprised you haven't moved into a bigger space in the mall yet. I'm like...95% sure it's been cleared out. Especially if you get a few solar panels back along with the resources to throw together a "vehicle" used to power your base.
Does Mel actually know any places personally that she'd feel safe moving into though? She's been here a while & worked really hard to clear this space it feels.@@mutantwormgirl
Noticed "Will not bash" in traits. 🤔 The version I'm running has the new personality traits. Hopefully this indicates more JSONification of NPC behavior. There's a lot I want to do in that regard. Right now I just dump NPCs in the apartments I set up, though. Yesterday I was struggling trying to get the NPCs to use some safe mutation-causing items I made. I still have no idea what the deal is with that. I can only add mutations through existing mutagens (with high trust) or the debug menu. I'm using the NPC_SAFE flag for the items, but that just eliminated the trust requirement. They seem to think the pills I'm giving them are a weapon. I've also tried using spells in the past but it made them hostile.
@@mutantwormgirl yeah, it's a use_action type: effect_on_condition. effect is a u_add_trait which is a mutation. It works fine for me when I activate it. Gives me the mutation and everything. I don't mean to use you like tech support 😂 I actually have a host of things I can't really figure out (yet) and many of them probably don't have a solution in JSON, like my character weight problem (since weight is scaled to strength, if I have a character with superman strength they can't ride motorcycles).
As a firearm enthusiast I am legally obligated to inform you that you used the wrong image for the Lee-Enfield and your comment section must now be filled with messages pointing this out for all eternity. (the image you used is an SMLE Mk. III, but the game names the rifle as a No. 4 Mk. I) :P
Huzzah! Now we’ve an extra buddy! Twice the combat potential; but also twice the food and ammo consumption. With NPCs needing to be hand fed and even have their door privileges revoked; I don’t think gathering an army would be effective even if each additional body didn’t up our resource consumption.
Honestly when I've seen people do it, it's really useful. Also it allows you to build faction camps, you can farm easier using them & they actually do help with crafting & speeding things up, way more useful than one would think.
Accidental deaths are also frankly a lot harder to happen when you got five dudes with machine guns or the like. You tear through stuff. Also they can teach you skills you don't have & a lot more cool stuff. And if you die? You get a prompt to play as one of your companions!@@ZeRedSpy
Now the next mission. Probably the Nightmare. I don't think pistols would do the job. Shotguns, yes, but i'd prefer to use an automatic rifle to shred that thing off. Hopefully Mel's have this on her hand if she gonna recruit another with her.

I feel she keeps up with the action, I think her production quality & vibes are better than Rycon, even if I love him. Most people do live unedited commentary & I like the distinctiveness of having something more carefully considered.
I feel like I've said about all I need to on F&H for now. I'll put out another video when the update comes out, otherwise there are many other games to explore. I don't want to be one of those channels that just squeezes blood from the same stone for views every week.

We will probably ultimately move out of the mall. It's too big and too hard to modify, plus we've spent enough time there already.
Nowadays you don't need a vehicle, you can place appliances as Applicances and wire them together through the walls.

That is surprising! I guess when you have more than one around you care less about accidental deaths so the permissions don't matter quite as much.

i would love to play this game :c tried it a littlebit but refunded becouse it seems optimized for english keyboard :c I know i can probably rebind everything but feels like a too big of a hassle, especially when i dont know what most stuff do xd
There is a project to allow for different default keyboard configs in different languages. It is still just in the planning stage though.
Probably would of had more success if you used the better lockpick

I feel she keeps up with the action, I think her production quality & vibes are better than Rycon, even if I love him. Most people do live unedited commentary & I like the distinctiveness of having something more carefully considered.
