This game is so nuts, I used to live in the Sewers and it was pretty safe down there. I would sneak at night into the city above and grab a ton of supplies then go back down into my hole, Slowly I built a whole workshop down there and made a Railbike that I could ride on the rails real fast........I must have raided that whole city I had it all until I found a hidden door to a Science facility in the rail lines and opened up a HUGE spore event that slowly encroached on my settlement......I panicked grabbed my bug out bag went up through my sewer grate and Immediately got G-Banged by 5 Zombie hulks and 300 Kid zombies..... THIS GAME IS THE ONE TRUE GAME I COULD PLAY FOREVER AND NOT GET BORED!
I love this! I have never made a sewer base. They're a little scarier now 'cause they added some monsters to them, but I bet you could build a pretty cozy setup down there.
@@mutantwormgirl There were CHUDDs and Mutant Rats down there when I was playing, Not sure about now. Been watching since the first cataclysm tutorial. I really enjoy your little edits and how you present things. The cataclysm videos in particular have got me picking the game back up again after a few years of leaving it be. Keep going, you make good stuff and can only get better at it from here.
Man besides Rycon you seem like the only other person that role plays this game in a way that I enjoy! I can't wait for the next episode! Make your character into the Punk Knight! Only with guns instead of just a sword! 😁
"We can sneak around if we're careful in these shadows." That's exactly how my last attempt at surviving the hell mall came to an end. I didn't realize tiles weren't binary as you point out here and that ended poorly. Also, I love the PR-24; I honestly prefer it to the cudgel, especially as retracting it makes it way easier to store in your inventory.
Great content there, please keep them coming! I played this game on and off for more than 3 years now, and only from your previous video I learned that you can put pressure on wounds to staunch bleeding.
Yessss I'm so happy to open youtube and see an update to this! I've rewatched the first 3 episodes and your Fear and Hunger videos multiple times, the way you tell/explain stories is wonderful. I can't wait to sit down and see what Mel gets up to this episode.
So good. Relaxing with a few scares still. The roleplay/info mix is really good and makes the content unique from like the other person who does this. (At least if you search CDDA roleplay). I like how you are filling in the backstory of the world also. Please more of that! I think you could if you wanted take this style and expand it to other games as well.
I just finished reading your screenshot LP, and I really love your stuff! You have a very nice balance of engaging storytelling, and mechanics explanations. Looking forward to seeing more of your mall wall gremlin.
I think the age of LPs is over for now, at least on this platform. People really seem to want deep dives. I can do both thankfully - the CDDA videos are comparitively easy to make and keep the channel popping in between the big behemoth video essays.
Hey just a heads up I didn't actually change the thermal electric gear. I only did climate control (which only shows up on whole body equipment). The warmth enchantments are for the whole body, so they don't work well with the individualized thermal electric stuff and I have no clue how best to fix them. Sorry!!
@@anoobindisguise4337 That's good news for the CBM, but I think most of the cold-blooded mutants and definitely all the ectothermic ones are incapable of wearing any of that gear. The craftable stuff definitely needs XL versions. I will put in a note correcting myself in the video. Thanks for the fact-check!
This is great. That was a close call, but you managed to get away with your leg intact and it should be fine in a few days at most. I normally play with imperceptive healer, so I try to avoid injuries that much more.
Haven't finished the vid yet, so you might notice later, and not sure you care, but there's a military rucksack near the place where you get the workbench and sewing supplies.
Not gonna lie I’m genuinely in awe of how people can get so good at clean combat in this game. Just played my first run while reviewing yours and Unicorn’s tutorials and got mauled by a tough and normal zombie right outside the first house I visited lol. Starting up a new file tonight though!
@Worm Girl yeah, I ended up rewatching your first video and saw. Love your videos, you successfully both gotten me into the game and helped me survive my first 2 days.
Zomboid is heavily inspired by CDDA. They even include the "A Really CD DA" challenge start as an homage. I'd say Zomboid is much more streamlined and refined, though it loses some of the granularity in the exchange, it's sort of like comparing Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress. Both good in their own way.
You're really cutting it close with some of those fights. Are you playing a little more daringly because you're recording or does shit just go south that quickly?
This is just how I tend to play honestly. I treat HP as gas in the tank and get pretty fast and loose with it. The latest updates are pretty brutal though, they limbified some stuff involving zombie grabs, so getting hurt hurts more now. This is good, even if it makes the game harder. I'll have to be a lot more careful going forward.
