  • Chapter 6 of the 7th edition of the NASM Essentials of Personal Fitness Training manual dives into 3 major systems of the body: the cardiorespiratory, endocrine, and digestive systems. Each system is broken down so the fitness professional understands how each system works, but also how exercise will affect them.

These videos are amazing for someone who hasn’t done any types of schoolwork for decades. I just wish all these chapters were printable 😞 but realize the work you have put into this is awesome

I'm glad it helped. The new 7th edition book is great with more detail. I actually wrote chapters 13 and 21 for the new edition.

Chapter 5 and this chapter have been a huge help so far thank you so much. Is there a way to access these powerpoints? Or did you make these yourself? I learn much better from powerpoints than trying to read the text and take notes

hey jeff do u have any tips for remembering all these components of the endocrine glands

This is a tough one, but make sure you know insulin and glucagon very well for your test. As far as the rest go, I would focus on growth hormone, testosterone, estrogen, and cortisol as well. IGF-1, T3, and T4 are not as prevalent on tests. The others would be the catecholamines of epinephrine (adrenaline), norepinephrine (works with epinephrine), and ACH. Those would be a better focus versus trying to remember each. If you want to remember each, I suggest you make flashcards and state where the hormone is made and what it does, then on the other side, the name.
