Fun fact: His older brother Ryley made it to The Voice Semi-Finals under Team Niall! He never mentioned that his brother is famous. He wanted everybody to know him and him only. Bravo 👏
Shows like this won't usually mention if someone has a relative or have appeared on another talent show themselves. They want to maintain the illusion that they have no idea who is auditioning even though a lot of the talents are invited to "audition" by production.
For 14 years old! Impressive! That boy can sing his heart out. What an amazing rendition of You Don’t Own Me. This kid is gonna be a star in the making.
His voice is so high pitched that you might mistake him for a girl if you can't see what he look like. I think that would be his strength because he can tackle songs that is very difficult for most male singers to pull off like songs by female artists.
That's a strong song and a hard song to sing. He's going to be hard to beat, but even if he doesn't win, he's going to have a backer forever in one or two of those guys.
@joshuaamadeusishak1887 his voice hasn't changed yet. He's only 14, and it will probably change any time. My nephew just turned 15, and his voice hasn't changed yet
First, I was really impressed that he chose to sing "You Don't Own Me", which Lesley Gore had the guts to sing in 1963, when women were widely considered to be "less than" men. That choice of a song was bold and refreshing for a 15 year old male. Second, he had the courage and ability to make the song his own and not mimic others' versions. Bravo Reid!
This is Ryley Wilson's younger brother! Ryley was on the voice two years ago. He had a four-chair turn. I remember Reid from backstage rooting for his older brother. Amazing talent, both of them!!
He chose very deliberately to change just one word in the lyrics, and it wasn't the 'obvious' one... He's not only incredibly talented, but also a very brave performer. Something tells me he's gonna make his mark in this world.
@@_adg_1637 Good for you for noticing that. I guess he really didn't "make it his own" when it comes right down to it, although it is unique in that it is a male version of a song that has been overwhelmingly performed by females. I think that's what was making it unique for me.
You don't own me I'm not just one of your many toys You don't own me Don't say I can't go with other boys And don't tell me what to do Don't tell me what to say And please, when I go out with you Don't put me on display 'cause You don't own me Don't try to change me in any way You don't own me Don't tie me down 'cause I'd never stay I don't tell you what to say I don't tell you what to do So just let me be myself That's all I ask of you I'm young and I love to be young I'm free and I love to be free To live my life the way I want To say and do whatever I please And don't tell me what to do Oh, don't tell me what to say And please, when I go out with you Don't put me on display I don't tell you what to say Oh, don't tell you what to do So just let me be myself That's all I ask of you I'm young and I love to be young I'm free and I love to be free
AGT has had many great auditions, but this one stands out to me. I've watched it many many times. His performance was exceptional! Like wow! For a 14-year old kid, ‘‘twas a very good performance. What an awesome rendition of the song. He just made the song even more beautiful. This song brings back old good memories. Thanks for singing this song, kid! Aabangan kita!
I knew he was gonna be great seeing his instagram reels. Him and his brother Ryley Tate from The Voice both are superb singers. What an incredible moment and he so deserved that golden buzzer.
Right on Howie!!!! This was totally the right call.... and the hug was wonderful. I am glad you let that come from the boy.. as I think that was the right call.. and it let you know he was comfortable to allow that exchange!!! This kid is so cute.. polite and talented!!!!! What a great audition!!!! 🤩 What a superb outcome!! 🥰🥳
I heard this song when it first came out, and I love it. I REALLY loved his take on it, especially the opening. Wow, it was the intelligence how he arranged the song, coupled with his unique voice, those runs, just wow. I love it and hope he is able to keep his focus as he grows up because I think we could be hearing his name in decades to come. I hope mom protects him from the worst of what the music industry can do, because he’s a treasure.
He was incredible! Seemed very comfortable on stage, and he was well rehearsed. He hit those notes, and the smile at the end showed he knew it! 🎉 Congrats!
The interviewer was out of line to tell him not to call her "Mam". She obviously has not knowledge of Southern manners. He was showing respect to his elders.
If you do not like being called something, then you should tell that person so they can stop calling you what you do not like to be called. No matter their age.
14 years old?! Oh My Goodness, that voice is crazy good, he’s got that retro old soul unusual voice, plus I love the song choice for him! I absolutely love it, definitely a Golden Buzzer moment! Congratulations!
Well, obviously no one will ever touch Leslie Gore's incredible original version, but Reid did himself proud and I hope for great things for him in the future.

How do you get in the audience of AGT? I would love that! You are so fortunate! are the judges really watching these performances for the first time? I’ve always wondered that.
The delivery of his “no” when asked if his parents have good taste in music was adorable and timed so perfectly.

Yes,just so compelling
No way its pish
That's very strange. Seek help.
It was great that Howie not only gave him the Golden Buzzer but a hug as well
That is usually what judges do.
single mom creates another que*er monstrosity. No more (real) fathers in the household.
Howie has always given hugs. His OCD affects handshaking, not hugging.
@DavidWinsteadhe doesn't like shaking hands due to OCD.
I love how mom waits just a moment to come out on stage so he can have his moment, then comes out to join him. Fantastic voice!
Such a polite young man that sang his heart out! Well deserving!
Yes!! Loved how he asked permission to hug Howey instead of just doing it. So polite.
@@jules3048 Yes. Especially since Howie is a germaphobic.

I’m from Alabama and I am so proud of that young man! He represented Alabama well. Funny, talented, and mature. Great job dude!
Too bad it's a girl and not a dude.
Amazing that a 14 year old kid could take a Leslie Gore song from the '60s and make it his own. I do think Leslie would be proud.
Except he borrowed heavilyyyy from Kyla jade’s rendition, some of those runs are note for note
