  • Chapter 9 of the NASM Essentials of Personal Fitness Training manual discusses all things nutrition. We dive into macronutrients, micronutrients, hydration, nutrition strategies, digestion, absorption, and many other topics that would normally be taught in a complete nutrition course. Also, remember the most important part of this chapter, scope of practice and not doing things your CPT certification would cause for liability.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I was going rather fast till I hit chapter 7. It does take longer to absorb all the information, and fully understand it. I think these chapters should take at least a week each.

I'm so glad I came across your channel! Your videos have been immensely helpful to me in the four weeks since I started my NASM CPT journey. Are there any ways that I can access the powerpoint slides you have created?

Where does the NASM CNC certification fall on this chart?

The CNC falls in it's own category, or potentially close to the CISSN. It is not a dietician (RD) or a nutritionist. RDs require a board certified license. If you look at the CNC requires, there is a scope of practice in there, but also you can look at the 4th slide on this presentation and the left side of the slide gives a description of what you can do.
