In Severance, Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.
In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
Season 2 reunites its ensemble cast of stars including Emmy Award nominee Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Emmy Award winner John Turturro, Academy Award winner Christopher Walken and Academy and Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette, and welcomes new series regular Sarah Bock.
Severance is executive produced by Ben Stiller, who also directs five episodes this season in addition to directors Uta Bresiewitz, Sam Donovan and Jessica Lee Gagné. The series is written, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson. Severance season two is also executive produced by John Lesher, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman, Beau Willimon, Jordan Tappis, Sam Donovan, Caroline Baron, Richard Schwartz, Nicholas Weinstock. In addition to starring, Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette serve as executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio.

It was a good cliffhanger, but let's chill out on the hyperbole. It was a show that demanded that you pay attention every episode, from start to finish. Let's celebrate it for that accomplishment
I think they gained more viewers by making us wait, lol. But yes I agree THREE years is long. Sure it will be worth the wait …now I patiently wait another 6 months 😐 Will rewatch S1. I’m sure I’ve missed a few details. The fun part will be discovering them so I’m excited either way. 😊

Did you notice they tweaked the melody a tiny bit? It doesn’t resolve right, making it a bit more haunting. Love it

@@kevin.m.rif you think about it, for those who watch the reboot planet of the apes series, we're waiting a lot longer per movie. So, might as well for Severance too 😂. I gotta say tho, even so, I'm still far more hungry for the next Severance. Every Planet of the Apes movie feels like a surprise happy treat, but the Severance wait feels like being withheld a meal :P (anyway not really trying to compare the two, I like both, differently. I just think its funny how long those have between each of them, and probably cause I watched it the other day haha). Anyway its important and great that they (Severance) held off for the strike. Tho that aside, waiting is still so hard haha.

@@DragonKeeper69 Actually, Ben already said that the strinke didn't chance their schedule and that the series is made at a slow pace because the producers focus on quality, not demand

Severance is definitely a winter show though. it's definitely going to take some of the cold off of the post-christmas depressing beginning of the year

Silo and Severance are their 2 best shows, both were basically 10/10 for their respective first seasons IMO. After those Apple has a handful of other good shows (in the 7-8 out of 10 range, such as Dark Matter and For All Mankind) and then a lotttt of shows in the 6-7 out of 10 range.
It would be nice if they stopped churning out the 6-7/10 shows and focused all of that into more silo/severance level shows. But I guess asking them to be perfect and make zero mistakes might be a bit much. They're already doing better than most platforms in that they really don't make any BAD shows. Nearly everything they put out is at least watchable.
Well, they've got Silo. It is almost as good as Severance, they are both just incredible

If we thought that Patricia Arquette’s character was particularly villainous last season…that 3 seconds of Gwendolyn Christie at 0:25 - her character is going to raise that bar exponentially.

Outside of wearing a metallic mask on a space ship, she hasn't done much since Game of Thrones. I would keep Arquette's outstanding performance on that pedestal until proven otherwise

Because they only greenlight second seasons if the first season is well received. It happens with all streaming TV shows now.

Hands down the best cliffhanger ever done in tv history. My husband and I just binged all 9 episodes last night! One of the greatest show ever, so glad we didn't see it in 2022 I dont think I could have waited 3 years!! Lol

There are NO special effects. NO crazy locations. NO multitude of cast. NO elaborate scenes or costumes. And yet . . . Even with the strike this should have been an easy production.
