Just as an aside, in prison ministry we provide books from many authors from various denominations. Guess which author is by far their favorite and the most helpful in pointing them to the Scriptures? Yep, EGW. That is just the facts 🤷🏻‍♂️.
By the way, my wife became an SDA after intense Bible study and was intoduced to EGW’s writings. She has read more of her work than anyone I know. She is a speed reader and devours about three books a week. She is very well read and EGW continues to be one of her favorite Christian authors. What can I say, facts are facts.
So let the debates continue. As for me, I’m leaning on the Bible for my knowledge of Christ. Other Christian writings, inspired or not are read with one eye in the Bible 😁

EGW never said Christ came back in the 1800s, so sick of the lies, especially when they haven’t even researched anything or he would have know that was a lie. As far as suing others works, she did sometimes use phrases that was from someone else, but not using quotes was the way things were done during that time and it was more descriptive and wasn’t prophetic.

Haters stay tryna say EGW plagiarized her writings. But this issue has already been dealt with by the SDA Church who hired an independent firm ( non-SDA) to investigate the accusations of plagiarism. The firm had declared that she did not plagiarize but borrowed according to the custom of her time ( this is key). Thank you for your ministry. Many blessings to you my brothers in Christ. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary has hundreds, if not thousands, of copies from hundreds of different authors to explain, illustrate or support as examples his definitions. Not one of them had been properly cited or referenced. When you read the definitions, it looks like even the examples come from his own pen!

I consider myself protestant but not currently affiliated with any Christian congregation, denomination or other religious organization.
I admire Martin Luther (the sixteenth century reformer) but without idolizing him. I admire John Calvin but without idolizing him. I admire the Wesley brothers but without idolizing them. So it should come as no surprise that I can admire Ellen White without idolizing her.
"In some cases where a historian has so grouped together events as to afford, in brief, a comprehensive view of the subject, or has summarized details in a convenient manner, his words have been quoted; but in some instances no specific credit has been given, since the quotations are not given for the purpose of citing that writer as authority, but because his statement affords a ready and forcible presentation of the subject."
This statement is from the introduction to the book, The Great Controversy. (Not the preface.)
I perceive that many SdA have read The Great Controversy but without reading the introduction and, as a result, are doing something Ellen White would not approve - i.e. they are accustomed to quoting from her writings and attributing those quotations to her, not only as a way of implying that such quotations are authoritative but that her writings are THE authority buy which the Bible should be interpreted.
I had no contact with missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and no information about that organization until 1959. That year, LdS missionaries gave me a copy of The Book of Mormon. By the time they returned a week later, I had read most of it AND I had formulated a way to explain something I had already believed but that I had not previously articulated. I told the missionaries I had decided to adopt “the principle of prior reference” - the principle that anything purported to be special revelation should be evaluated and interpreted by earlier revelation. I explained that the missionaries were doing the opposite of that, namely, they were evaluating or/and interpreting the Bible by what they considered to be later revelation.
If I correctly understand the above quotation from the introduction of The Great Controversy, Ellen White (were she alive today) would approved of people quoting from her writings but not as the authority by which the Bible should be interpreted - i.e. she would approve of people using the words she used but, by not saying she wrote those words, they could avoid giving the impression that they are making the same mistake as is made by many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

      Hello Edwin,
I just watched the introduction and part one, but I'm afraid I don't have time to watch part 2 right now. I think what pastor Morgan is missing from the opposing argument is that when Ellen lifts her material directly from other sources, it makes it unclear as to which parts, if any, of her writings are inspired.
For example, and I am referencing Test the Prophet's second video:
The beginning of chapter 84 of The Desire of Ages is taken thought-for-thought from a book published 28 years beforehand. (If anyone is curious, it is the second example in that video.) Ellen gives no warning that the section of her writing is copied from another person's uninspired book, and the original author gives no credit to divine inspiration. From what I can tell this is just his own imagery and insights on Biblical stories.
I can't imagine would write this independently, and it happens to be accurate, and an angel decides that that is what they would show Ellen, and she would coincidentally write with almost the same words, and organize it similarly to the original author.
And this is only one of dozens of accounts of her plagiarism.
The issue is not only that she plagiarized, but also that she presents this writing as divinely inspired when it is clearly not. If she only wrote to comfort and build up the Adventist Church, I would not find problems with it at all, but the Bible is very clear on how we should treat those who claim to speak in his name but do not.

Let's keep it as simple as possible shall we ?
    Matthew 7:15-20
“Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thorn-bushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions."
    Deuteronomy 18:20-22
"But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die. “But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the Lord?’ If the prophet speaks in the Lord’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared"
    Matthew 24:36
“However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.
In light of the above warning from Christ, the Deut 18 acid test, and the clear statement from Christ regarding the intellectual limitations of man, bold claims from EGW require bold proofs, and the burden of proof lies on the claimant.
Adventism has many lovely God fearing people but they are not the ones under biblical scrutiny here. Rather, it's the fruit of the denominations professed prophetess, who formed the denomination and is central to their doctrines.
Firstly, by Christ stating that 'NO ONE knows the day or hour... only the Father', it's fair to say that purporting to know the exact day or hour would elevate such a person over ALL of mankind, and by definition, making them equal to the Father Himself. Clearly this is a blasphemous endeavour that can be traced back to Lucifer, but in modernity it manifests itself as the luciferian intellect which Adam received from the tree of knowledge. I hope you’re tracking, if not I’ll spell it out. A statement about the limitation of mankind has been made by Christ in Matt 24:36, and the rebellious nature in mankind is then aroused and is in full rebellion to the statement in an attempt to be like the most high. “Pride falls in love with its own creations, and tries to make them absolute.” JBP

The great disappointment was testament to Matthew 24:36. The SDA error of rationalising the great disappointment into the 1844 heavenly sanctuary cleansing doctrine, instead of abiding in what scripture clearly states is the most worrying aspect of the denomination.
Secondly, the fruit of EGW should yield an answer as to what whether she is who the church say she is. Deut 18 & Matt 7 stand as the two scriptural acid tests everything else become secondary (plagiarism, doctrines…etc)

She stated that “In my books, the truth is stated, barricaded by a 'Thus saith the Lord.' The Holy Spirit traced these truths upon my heart and mind as indelibly as the law was traced by the finger of God, upon the tables of stone..." (EGW Letter 90, 1906)
    Failed prophecies
-Multiple prophecies for the return between 1845-1851
-The shut door of mercy
(There are many others but everyone should look into the rest for themselves)
Although she has some good fruit, Deut 18 clearly invalidates her as a prophet due to numerous failed prophecies, and by default, her writings as being directly from the most high as she stated. Some of the visions she professed to have had can be traced back to books she has on her book shelve (Paradise Lost, Sketches from the Life of Paul...etc). This is well documented and lack of acceptance or acknowledgment of her ‘borrowing’ is wilful ignorance. An internal SDA 'investigation' back in the 80’s found that there was more ‘borrowing’ than they initially thought, and at least 19% of the Great Controversy is from other authors & sources. ‘The white lie’ and many other sources put her writings side by side with other writings and the plagiarism become plainly apparent and some her visions have been pulled from the imaginations of other men, not the finger of the most high as she claimed.
    James White (Her husband)
“Who for a moment can regard her as a Christian woman if she gives her ear to gossip then writes it out as a vision from God. if Mrs White has gathered the facts from a human mind in a SINGLE case, she has in thousands of cases and God has not shown her these things but she has written these in her personal testimonies, the case is a clear one” James White

But why does Ellen be considered as inspired as the only one for 2000 years . A solution would be to include some of the writers in the past which could be considered as inspired on equal footing to Ellen including the ones Ellen copied from. What do you think?

This is debatable, so take it as you wish. I personally believe that there were other inspired individuals throughout history, including some of the reformers. Even though that may be true.
    1. She plagerized a full book Acts if the apostles that almost resisted in a legan case. No brothers how can that be insipirational .
    2. The fact is that she never gave credit who she copied .
    3. If you inspired by God it will be your own words by the Holy Spirit if you a prophet. She needed to copy to write and then you call it inspirational.
    4. She lied did not just copy she wrote from hearsay.
    5. Walter Rea was a specialist in the writings if Ellen G White as the church asked him to investigate there were that time already complained about her plagerism .
Like you brothers when the church were given the results of his investigation Walter Rea was rejected by the church that led him to write The white lie book was the result and it was that book that open the eyes of the church.
    6. What confuse me and you guys are ridiculous to try to defend a false prophet. When it come to Roman Catholics all you preach is that they are Mark of the beast but it is strange how your church run to a Roman Catholic lawyer to justify EGWhite writings.
Most people did not read all her work and more specifically where she wrote of weird things.
There are people on Mars like giants she saw in vision ...was that true.?
She wrote tower of babel was before or after the flood??
It is sad wharves idol she became to the church and I'd you defend someone who did wrong then you as guilty. Don't teach the people wrongly.
Many Adventists have discarded got rid of their books from the false prophet and bow focus on scripture and are no longer confused .

As far as I'm concerned, Ellen White was a human being who wrote extensively about Jesus and to bring glory to Him.
She made it clear that she regarded herself as a messenger from God and never referred to herself as a prophet.
Her writings, (be it of her own, someone else's or from an angel) are there to lead us to the Bible and the Bible only.
