Adventists would like us to believe that Christians were wrong about the Sabbath for 1800 years, and they came along to save us from heresy. It's so shameful the way they butcher the Scriptures. Its undeniable that in the case where there is a physical and a spiritual aspects of a commandment, both must be observed. However, there is no such commandment to the Church to keep the seventh day holy. Therefore, although the logic is correct, it is not applicable to something that is absent. And although the ten commandments are transferred to the new testament,; it is not simply a matter of copy and paste. It is a matter of how they are fulfilled by Christ and interpreted by him, and the apostles and there successors through the Holy Spirit. Therefore it is the apostles and the church that we look to for Christian instruction. It is clear from the new testament scriptures and church history that the church was not enjoined to any commandment to keep the seventh day. We see however an undeniable record of the observance the first day, not by legislation but by commemoration of the new creation. Those who want to enjoin Saturday keeping as a necessity, cannot prove their position from Scripture nor from church history. All attempts to do so are filled with irrational and downright butchering of Scriptures, and the manipulation of history. Take for example, the mishandling of the edicts and church councils associated with Emperor Constantine. And how sad it is that they deceive those who are not acquainted with the historical context of these things. Take also the example of the misuse of Jeremiah 31 And Hebrews 3 and 4. Jeremiah 31 does not say that the new covenant is the ten commandments placed in the heart, as they claim. Isaiah tells us though. In 42:1-7 we read that God will give his servant for a covenant. No doubt that this servant is Christ, and the nation's will wait on his Law, (no doubt the law of Christ). This truth is reflected in the fulfilment as interpreted for us by Jesus and the apostles, example Matt 26: Jesus says, this is the new covenant in my blood. Jesus of course gives to us his body and blood in which he is present. And 2 Corinthians 3 where Paul says that he is the minister of the new covenant not of the letter but of the spirit. He explains that he ministers Christ and the Lord is that Spirit. Check out his use of the word heart and the intimate connection between Christ and his body, Paul ministers Christ and the Corinthians become the epistle of Christ written in his heart, known and read of all men. As for Hebrews 3 and 4: the subject of the exportation here is to remain faithful to Christ through whom we enter God's REST. The writer demonstrates from the scriptures the certainty of God's REST by pointing to its inception in genesis 2, it's continuation, psalm 95, which pointed back to the wildernesses and forward to the present. It is clear from this that God's REST is that which He entered into at creation, which was still available in the wilderness, also at the time of David and at the time of the epistle, and even beyond. What is not true though is that this rest is a single 24 hour day. Clearly, what the wilderness generation failed to enter into was not a keeping of Saturday; because their failure to enter was seen in their failure to enter Canaan, not their failure to observe a day. It could then be assumed that the ensuing entry under Joshua was the entry into God's rest. The writer sees the need to clarify this by saying that God would not have spoken afterward of another day. So then even Canaan was a type of what God intended. What then is the REST God intends for us to enter and by what means. The writer says again he puts in place a certain day , speaking by David: Today if you hear his voice harden not your heart. So the day for entry in called Today. Notice that he makes reference to this Today as DAILY (chapter 3: 17) and he makes it clear that the means by which entry is gained is belief in Christ(Heb 4:3). The rest being spoken of in this passage is obviously not that of a single 24 hour day and it is therefore not entered into by the observance of Saturday. God's rest is the communion we enter ino with God by faith in his son Jesus. The statement: there remain therefore a rest to the people of God, is said in conclusion of the point that the writer has given sufficient evidence to prove the existence and availability such a rest. This same Jesus who upon completion of the work of redemption and the inauguration of the new creation, has ceased from his own work as God did from his. Let us labour to enter into that rest. There is no commandment here to keep Saturday. Like is common among adventis something of a lesser value and sometimes something that is the opposite of Christ, is being forced into a place that properly belongs to Christ.

Today, the Church waits for Jesus to come as the Lamb when He will actually return as the Lion. The spiritual leaders in Christ's day taught the Commandments of God in a literal sense- Jesus re-established that we must observe the Commandments spiritually as well. Jesus said the Sabbath is Law in all 4 gospels. Matt 12:12 Lk 6:9. Paul says the Sabbath is Law and must be obeyed and not disobeyed Heb 4:9-11. The physical is what is, the spiritual is how what is ought to act. They are one thing, reality, but are divided as physical and spiritual, but, they are one being hand in hand.
