If you go to their video titled: “Unpacking SDA confusion: Is Jesus Miachel the archangel?” At timestamp 2:21:10 Doug batchelor says “The hour is coming in which all that are in the grave will hear my voice, the voice of the son of man”. Here is what john 5:25 says “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.” And john 5:28 “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,”. So While Doug did not directly mention john 5:25 he cited the words from john 5:25 and 28, and Myles being an ex sda should have known to address john 5:25-29 when addressing 1 thes 4:16.

I watched the stream on @answeringadventism when you guys logged off. The Ecclesiasties 9 argument was pretty compelling. I was actually looking for you all to refute the argument of the actual context of the whole book. You never showed their side or really spoke to the argument. I believe Jason spoke of not understanding why they came after him about the concordance. Regardless of disagreeing with how they bring across the message, the overarching point was about using a concordance but ignoring context, which ruins the interpretation, whether you agree with them or not. Now I understand based on their words towards you all you didn't want to share the video for this part (although you did share other portions) but you never presented their argument at all or refuted the context of Solomon speaking for the standpoint of materialistic view. Whether you agree or not, to present what you did as "refuting" their argument was ignorance of their argument at best. I f I'm being honest, I see it as a little disingenuous and I'm willing to be wrong, but the argument from them was clear and they spent time building it brick by brick stating that Solomon was speaking from a lens of ignorance of not seeing beyond the sinful earth throughout places in the book. The wisdom and point of view he is using in Chapter 9 is wisdom found "under the sun", not the hope thereafter. We are quoting from a man who is telling you of a persons thoughts based solely on what they can see in this life, not from someone looking forward to life afterward. So I will not argue the point for them, I just saw an opportunity to give an answer to a compelling argument and the ADL's looked to fall short. Maybe you all do have an answer to what they actualy put forth. I would love to hear it honestly.

There is a Greek word used both in John 10 verses 17 and 18 that is translated as "to take" G2983 - Lambano. If Jesus is dead, then he could not "take" life back again! To take is an action that can only be done by a living person. The Greek word Lambano can also have the meaning TO RECEIVE, which is a more appropriate translation which should have been used to Jesus who was dead; the Father gave life back to Jesus who was dead and Jesus cannot but receive this life to make him a living soul, just as Adam who was just dust received breath of life and became a living soul when he was created; Jesus received back life from the Father. Jesus received this life first time when he was begotten in everlasting before there was anything (Read Proverbs 8), then the second time when He was resurrected from death to pay the wages of sin! Who ran the universe when Jesus died? The Father did! The Father is the only one who has immortality, Father could never die since the Father is THE SOURCE of LIFE; the Son of God was begotten of the Father and had received LIFE from the SOURCE who is the Father; Jesus died when he gave his life back to his Father, and was resurrected back to life when the Father gave LIFE back to Jesus

I have to give you guys props for keeping the tone as civil as possible. Keep going in that direction. Within the last year, I was listening to some of Sam‘s rebuttals against Muslims. He’s got some very good material, but I started feeling increasingly uncomfortable at his tone and demeanor. Calling them names, interrupting, it was anything but civil discourse. Once the it was mentioned about the debate with Anthony Burrell, I had to pause this and check that out. I agree that it went horribly wrong for Myles, especially at the 46 minute marker. That was embarrassing. His whole argument is that he believes that Christ entered the Most Holy place at his ascension in Hebrews 6:19 but will not acknowledge that Hebrews 9:3 talks about another veil that clearly is the entrance of the Most Holy place not the Holy Place that Hebrews 6:19 is referring to. Also that he did not read the sermon of the reformer who came to the conclusion of an investigative judgement without proving 1844 from Daniel 8:14.

37:00 I can only recommend everyone to deal openly with several positions theologically and to keep the good, instead of always immediately accepting all the points of a church or group in one package, just because you have a lot of personal social contact with them. I left the SDA church years ago. But the condition of the dead, the topic of "hell" and a lot of biblical prophecy are still correct in my opinion. What is not right with the SDA is the gospel and the lack of correct distinction between law and gospel.
