Btw, it is not a hermeneutical error to read a later chapter into an earlier one, for example
Revelation 12:17 - “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST.”
‭‭We have no idea what the testimony of Jesus Christ is until we get to Revelation 19:10
“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
In this case, you have to read a later chapter into the earlier one to understand its meaning‬‬

It's not cuz Revelation would be guilty of that, the Bible is full of Chiasm and its intended to be read line upon line, precept on precept and here a little and there a little, cuz the whole Bible has to be read, and its an example to show that, the Bible circles back and its complete and goes and comes back and meets at the end and continues without contradiction but marry perfectly each letter, jot and tittle

Correct it's called the chiastic structure; there were no chapters and verses in the original text, so the entire context is given by the book as a whole.

The idea that you cannot "read a later chapter into an earlier chapter" is ridiculous. It's not like the writer of a book was developing his understanding as he was writing, such that his beliefs changed the more chapters he wrote. Rather the writer knew what beliefs that he wanted to express before he even started to write a single chapter and those beliefs remain consistent between chapters. If we want to understand what the beliefs that the author is trying to explain, we have to avoid relying on our own assumptions as much as possible, so when a text is ambiguous (i.e. it can be interpreted in more than one way if evaluated in isolation) then it would be better to look at relevant passages (regardless of whether they are in the same chapter or in a later or earlier chapter) so that we can narrow down the possible meaning of the verse in question by including the other assumptions that the author held, rather than to make assumptions of our own that are in harmony with our beliefs but not necessarily with the beliefs the author was trying to express.

Apparently Myles is unaware that chapters and verses did not exist in the original text. In other words, anytime you quote a verse, the full weight of the book has to be behind it.

*Practically all Christians recognize the significance of the Bible to their faith.* - *Yet many Christians misrepresent and misapply Scripture frequently.* - *Often those who are most zealous about the authority of the Bible are at the greatest loss when it comes to understanding its message clearly and applying it faithfully.*
*Misrepresenting Scripture calls into question both the easy assumption of the Reformed emphasis on the perspicuity of Scripture,*- *and the presumption that those who declare the Bible to be the infallible or even inerrant Word of God will agree about what it teaches and illustrates.* - *What it proves instead is that 'rightly dividing the word of truth’ can at best be a difficult and contentious matter;* - *A MATTER DEMANDING CLOSE ATTENTION TO HISTORICAL, LITERARY AND THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT; INTENTION; AND EVEN THE NATURE OF LANGUAGE ITSELF.* - *Abusing Scripture offers a taxonomy of ways many are guilty of doing violence to Scripture.*
*Most people are unaware that when the books of the Bible were originally written, they did not contain chapter or verse references.* - *Each book was a continuous narrative.*
*While we can thank God for the chapter divisions, there are issues with some divisions because the break from chapter to chapter often leaves the reader with the impression that a new thought or idea is being introduced just as occurs in English books and articles.* - *The first English Bible that contained both chapters and verses was the Geneva Bible, published in 1557.*
*The scriptures form a seamless structure of truths, even though the truths were given in different places and different dispensations.* - *Clustering scriptures together is important to improve understanding.* - *Scriptures interpret scriptures.*
*The Bible is a work of literature. Literature comes in different genres, or categories based on style, and each is read and appreciated differently from another.*
*“Sometimes I fear that we teach the scriptures in isolation from each other, when in fact, if you will make multiple use of them and follow this clustering method, you will not only make the teaching moment more significant but you will also be witnessing to the congruency and relevance of all the scriptures. You will find, as one would expect, a powerful conceptual consistency that flows throughout all the scriptures, sometimes even verbatim language, because they come from the same source”* (“The Old Testament: Relevancy Within Antiquity,” A Symposium on the Old Testament, 8-9).
*Therefore, accurate exegesis and interpretation takes into consideration the purpose and style of a given book or passage of Scripture.* - *In addition, some verses are meant figuratively, and proper discernment of these is enhanced by an understanding of genre.* - *An inability to identify genre can lead to serious misunderstanding of Scripture.* - *The main genres found in the Bible are law, history, wisdom, poetry, narrative, epistles, prophecy and apocalyptic literature.* - *Pretty much all Biblical writers wrote in typically figurative language, especially the ones writing in Hebrew, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t to be understood as factual.*
*Bible Prophecy follows the repeat and enlarge principle in which scripture repeats the prophecy of Daniel chapter 2 in chapters seven, eight and eleven, adding more detail in the process.* - *Chapters 10, 11 and 12 thus continue the narrative we find in chapters 2, 7 and 8 in the book of Daniel, and in the same way that the story was developed further in chapters 7 and 8, and continues to develop here in chapter 11 as well, and we get new and more detailed information.*
*Unlocking Daniel’s symbols makes the prophecies of Revelation become so much clearer.*
*Example:* - *The little horn of Daniel 8 has the same characteristics as the dragon of Rev 12...*
*1.* Both said to be "great" [Dan 8:10; Rev 12:3]
*2.* Both cast down some of the stars to the ground [Dan 8:10; Rev 12:4]
    *3.* Both attacked Jesus [Dan 8:11, 25; Rev 12:4-5]
    *4.* Both attacked God's people [Dan 8:24; Rev 12:13]
*5.* Both exist at the end of the world [Dan 8:18, 25; Rev 12:17]
*All these powers literally attempted to kill baby Jesus [Rev 12:4]*

I am about 9 minutes into this and Andrew is comparing Trump Derangement Syndrome with some Former Adventists about Adventists. I agree in that some former Adventists cannot tolerate anything positive being said about Adventists. There is as much illogical rage against Adventism as some people have against former president, Donald Trump. That is unfortunate. But I have encountered, many times, Adventist who have Catholic Derangement Syndrome, where everything Catholics is suspect and terrifying for them. Nothing positive can be said. Often when I tell Adventists that Catholics (many Catholics) ATTEND church on the 7th day, they refuse to respond or believe it. They discount it with: If Catholics are going to church on the Sabbath, it can't count for them in heaven because they don't have the right attitude...or something to that effect. This derangement syndrome is probably present within all people when they encounter someone they don't want to trust or give them benefit of the doubt. It's like Christians must have a bad guy. Which is truly the very opposite of Jesus told us to do.

The question would be, are they keeping Sabbath as outlined in the Bible? That is, preparing food on Friday, not doing our own pleasure on that day, not shopping or buying things, attending Church, engaging in ministry work, etc.

I do notice Myles like all of us can get emotional sure.
Why does EGW contradict Gods Word by saying “he reverently passed between the parts of the sacrifice”
God said that He put Abram in a deep sleep and passed through HIMSELF
      Hebrews 6:13 Genesis 15:17.
Ellen White in Patriarchs and Prophets page 11 says Abram passed between making solemn vow with God.
This is a contradiction of Gods Holy Word.
This sets people up to have a man centred focus all through the whole of Scripture.
Without the fundamental principle of understanding that God is setting up a Biblical principle showing us man cannot keep a covenant with Holy God so He kept it FOR US…we will end up putting the focus on self.
      Hebrews 6:13 Genesis 15:17
      Genesis 22:8 Hebrews 1:3.
EGW said Abram passed between the sacrifice God said He passed through HIMSELF.
Who should we trust and obey ADL?

    ABOUT ELLEN G WHITE:
Where in Joel 2 does it say ONE prophet arises in ONE denominational group? Joel 2 shows that there should be multiple people to whom this gift should be poured. Where in the text does it say that prophesying meant reinterpreting the Bible? Here is the Joel 2 passage (show me a singular prophet working by herself and isolated from what the text teaches, and then we can accept EGW)-
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon ALL flesh; and your SONS and your DAUGHTERS shall prophesy, your old MEN shall dream dreams, your young MEN shall see visions: and also upon the servants and upon the HANDMAIDS in those days will I pour out my spirit.”
    ‭‭Joel‬ ‭2‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭KJV‬‬
The Bible teaches that the prophetic gift would be POURED ON MULTIPLE people when it happens, as we also saw in Acts 2.
“But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For THESE are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet JOEL; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon ALL flesh: And your SONS and your DAUGHTERS shall prophesy, And your young MEN shall see visions, And your old MEN shall dream dreams: And on my SERVANTS and on my HANDMAIDENS I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Since Joel was a true prophet and spoke from and for God, we expect his prophecy to be fulfilled word for word, as in Acts. That didn't happen with EGW. Produce the others that Joel mentioned-Joel didn't say ONE prophet.

    • @AdventDefenseLeague

@Bredrin90 sure, the gift of prophecy was manifested among two other individuals called Hazen Foss and William Foy. Here's a link: lineagejourney.com/read/hazen-foss-and-william-foy-faithful-and-unfaithful/
There were others as well. For example, EJ Waggoner was said to have experienced a vision of the cross during a camp meeting, Hiram Edson saw a vision of Christ in the Heavenly Sanctuary while walking in a cornfield after the disappointment, and many others. Typically, critics simply mock these individuals just because they disagree with their doctrine.
Joseph Smith was not a prophet because, although he claimed the gift of prophecy, he did not keep or teach in keeping the commandments of God. Recall that there are three qualifiers for the last days, keeping the commandments, having the faith of Christ, AND having the testimony of Jesus, which is the gift of prophecy (Rev. 12:17, 14:12, 19:10). So, he fails the tests.
Ok, now that I've provided the evidence, you may now believe.

@@AdventDefenseLeague Yep-and ELLEN G WHITE in typical Darwinian fashion outdid the others! Bro, that's not hoe Biblical prophetic office works. The prophets actually work together and are not subsuming each other. Show me the voluminous writings of those other prophets. I mean Jeremiah and Isaiah and Ezekiel never subsumed each other! Ellen White even attempted to subsume Jesus in her recasting of Hebrews 1:1-2.
      Consider this:
“LONG AGO, at many times and in many ways, GOD SPOKE to our fathers BY THE PROPHETS, BUT IN THESE LAST DAYS HE HAS SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“IN ANCIENT TIMES GOD SPOKE to men by the mouth of PROPHETS and apostles. IN THESE DAYS HE SPEAKS to them THE TESTIMONIES of His Spirit. There was never a time when God instructed His people more earnestly than He instructs them now concerning His will and the course that He would have them pursue” (Ellen G White, CCh 91.2).

Eisegesis rules Adventism. Facts are very stubborn. Adventism is not a cult in my view, but very dishonest in some theological issues. The first to state his case seems right, until another comes and cross examines him. Proverbs 18:17 BSB. Right now, Adventism is being crossed examined, and we are being found wanting in certain cases. The church isn't all wrong, but we're also not all right.
The true bible scholars of Adventism know for a FACT that there are serious issues with certain doctrinal positions of the church, and also with Ellen White. I believe in her Ministry, just not in the way some have over exalted her to a dangerous place where Christ alone must stand and have ignored things she wrote which have been proven to be problematic.
I'm not putting down the church because I remain a SDA until the Lord shows me otherwise; but I rather be scorned and demonized for honesty and theological truthfulness, than to be adored and admired for ignoring all that has been proven to be wrong, yet defending and holding on to such, doing theological gymnastics, and twisting the word for beliefs to fit, just to maintain a false idea of some special uniqueness. Theological honesty and integrity are greatly lacking amongst us as a people. I agree with Ellen White 100% when she said: We have many lessons to learn, and many many to unlearn. God and Heaven alone are infallible. The Review and Herald July 26, 1892. { 1SM 37.3 }.

@@thatnicekid04 Myles has 3.5 hour videos using many scriptures in context. You bear false witness. I’m listening to Myles right now. Here’s Adventist heretic E.J. Waggoner from Signs of the Times April 8, 1889- “ While both are of the same nature, the Father is first in point of time. He is also greater in that he had no beginning, while Christ’s personality had a beginning.” Waggoner was a blasphemous heretic. Adventists have bad Christology. @@rayray4192 okay. The SDA Church believes that Jesus has no beginning today. It is well known in Adventism that pioneers thought differently. Why is this something to consider?
