One of the greatest mistakes of the critics is that they think there is only one mode of inspiration, the revelatory or "vision mode," such as the prophets Daniel or Nathan receiving visions and/or dreams, or the apostle Paul hearing and seeing Jesus speak to him. However, Pastor Kevin Morgan, author of “White Lie Soap,” points to various other biblical examples of inspiration besides the vision mode, highlighting how they parallel the modes used by characters in the bible and showing how effective these modes are in communicating God's truths.
In this Introduction, we begin a series responding to a video titled "Testing the Adventist Prophet" ( • Testing Ellen White's ... . Our narrator is Pastor Kevin Morgan, who is uniquely qualified to speak on this issue, having spent hundred of hours writing and editing materials on a professional level. He is an author, editor, and pastor for over 30 years, having obtained his Master's Degree from Southern Adventist University. He knows the ins and outs of professional editing and most of his works can be found on Academia.edu (southern.acade.... In the 1980s, Walter Rea popularized (albeit the accusation was not new) the claim that Ellen White was a plagiarist, and Pastor Morgan had the privilege of knowing Rea personally and obtaining materials from Rea as he wrote his book response, "White Lie Soap." We hope these video series will help clear the air about what really took place during that time from the people who would know most, since they were there.
