If you love me keep my commandments .. the Ten Commandments are based on LOVE the first four love to God and the last six love for neighbor and self. The God of the old Testament is the same God of the new. He doesn't change, and he is perfect. The first covenant was perfect, because God is perfect and He is the author. We broke the first covenant, so God made a new one that through the Holy Spirit, rather than our own stregth, we could keep God's law.

I see an important difference between Jesus' two Great Commandments and the Ten Commandments. Can I explain why? The Ten Commandments are negative - they tell us NOT to do certain things. But the Laws of Love - are positive. They call us to action. If I became sick and fell into a coma, I could keep all ten of the commandments perfectly! But I could not keep the Laws of Love because they must be expressed in action.

Sadly, the one thing he did say that is correct and I tried to speak against this in my own churches and the President of our division spoke against it and would not have a discussion with me about it and he made excuses for it is that our hospitals do perform abortions and they're not uncommon. Ones, they're more regular and our churches are teaching other problems as well or accepting other problems as well, which are not moral nor theologically correct, it's falling into apostasy in a great way, so even though the. But it does not exclude meaning to keep the 7th day Sabbath, and the other 9. The Ten Commandments or the Decalogue is the classic example, and representation of all the commandments of God. Jesus ministry can be summed up - the Torah is true and good, but it must be kept out of love and not out of cold obligations, and of course to be the lamb of YaH.
What you forget that the 10 Commandments were given by God and was with Christ ( Genesis 1:26. Jesus Christ himself said if you have seen me, you have seen my father. Jesus carried mission of the father. Many people dispute about these Commandments because of the Sabbath which they don't want to hear. Many churches are ready to accept the other commandments if Sabbath is removed but they fail completely that Sabbath is God's and shows who is your creator. Isaiah 58:13.... God has never and even Jesus didn't abolish what is honourable to God. Jesus lifted up God ( John 15:10). Those who deny God's Sabbath will be put to shame when Jesus Christ returns. I strongly believe that the 10 Commandments are intact for God's people (Revelation 14:12).

The key to commandment keeping is Jesus. He said, “Without Me you can do nothing.” Jesus does not only justify us, He sanctify us. He does not only forgive and cleanse, He empowers us to live a forgiven life. The Holy Spirit writes His law in our hearts according to the New Covenant.

Myles, the ten commandments are the commandments of God. Maybe not all of His commandments, but they would certainly be included with all the others ! God desires and requires three things from His people. Those three things are Love, Faith, and ,yes, Obedience. Many people , like you, are under the false assumption that we can just thumb out noses at what God says and that we don't need to OBEY Him. But , according to the Bible, our Obedience is very important. I think most Christians would agree that we need the Holy Spirit in order to be saved, right ? Well, Acts 5:32 tells us that God gives the Holy Spirit to those who OBEY Him. And going to Heb 5:9, we see that our very salvation depends, at least in part, on our OBEDIENCE to God. This verse says that "He (speaking of Jesus) became the Author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him." And then we can go to 1 John 3:22 , and this verse tells us that, even when we pray, "We receive what we ask for because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." The wisest man who ever lived, King Solomon, says in Eccl 12:13 "Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. And ,also, let us remember those passages in the book of revelation . God's faithful people are specifically identified in Rev 14:12 which says " Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." And, lastly, we see in Rev 22:14 where it says "Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." Proving that the 10 Covenant Words contained "laws" doesn't make those words interchangeable law doesn't equal commandment but you can command a law to be kept. God's law isn't restricted to the 10, but you miss that when you read into the Bible what you believe. The Bible is what should direct your beliefs. The Bible has zero obligation to bend to you or me. To many people don't want to examine their beliefs against the Bible. It is a human flaw to want someone to tell them that they are correct even when they are believing a lie, or to be outraged when someone tries to correct an error we hold to. It is good to examine, but we need to be willing for that examination to correct us.

I see an important difference between Jesus' two Great Commandments and the Ten Commandments. Can I explain why? The Ten Commandments are negative - they tell us NOT to do certain things. But the Laws of Love - are positive. They call us to action. If I became sick and fell into a coma, I could keep all ten of the commandments perfectly! But I could not keep the Laws of Love because they must be expressed in action.

Many people dispute about these Commandments because of the Sabbath which they don't want to hear. Many churches are ready to accept the other commandments if Sabbath is removed but they fail completely that Sabbath is God's and shows who is your creator. Isaiah 58:13.... God has never and even Jesus didn't abolish what is honourable to God. Jesus lifted up God ( John 15:10). Those who deny God's Sabbath will be put to shame when Jesus Christ returns. I strongly believe that the 10 Commandments are intact for God's people (Revelation 14:12).

The key to commandment keeping is Jesus. He said, “Without Me you can do nothing.” Jesus does not only justify us, He sanctify us. He does not only forgive and cleanse, He empowers us to live a forgiven life. The Holy Spirit writes His law in our hearts according to the New Covenant.

Myles, the ten commandments are the commandments of God. Maybe not all of His commandments, but they would certainly be included with all the others ! God desires and requires three things from His people. Those three things are Love, Faith, and ,yes, Obedience. Many people , like you, are under the false assumption that we can just thumb out noses at what God says and that we don't need to OBEY Him. But , according to the Bible, our Obedience is very important. I think most Christians would agree that we need the Holy Spirit in order to be saved, right ? Well, Acts 5:32 tells us that God gives the Holy Spirit to those who OBEY Him. And going to Heb 5:9, we see that our very salvation depends, at least in part, on our OBEDIENCE to God. This verse says that "He (speaking of Jesus) became the Author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him." And then we can go to 1 John 3:22 , and this verse tells us that, even when we pray, "We receive what we ask for because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." The wisest man who ever lived, King Solomon, says in Eccl 12:13 "Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. And ,also, let us remember those passages in the book of revelation . God's faithful people are specifically identified in Rev 14:12 which says " Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." And, lastly, we see in Rev 22:14 where it says "Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." Proving that the 10 Covenant Words contained "laws" doesn't make those words interchangeable law doesn't equal commandment but you can command a law to be kept. God's law isn't restricted to the 10, but you miss that when you read into the Bible what you believe. The Bible is what should direct your beliefs. The Bible has zero obligation to bend to you or me. To many people don't want to examine their beliefs against the Bible. It is a human flaw to want someone to tell them that they are correct even when they are believing a lie, or to be outraged when someone tries to correct an error we hold to. It is good to examine, but we need to be willing for that examination to correct us.

He did not say that Entole or Nomos NEVER refers to any of the 10 commandments He gave an example of their general uses. Especially with Nomos, he specifically said that the word could be used regarding ANY command in scripture! It's even in the picture.

I’m not trying to expose Myles. I have no ill feelings for the guy. In some degree I sympathize with his SDA relatives. We are aiming for the false criticisms. Myles is caught in the crossfire.
