    My rank
    1. Chamber of secrets. The acting improved but still fairly innocent.
    2. Prisoner of Azkaban. Acting and magic came into their own with the kids
    3. Sorcerers stone it’s the og and a good adaptation
    4. Order of the Phoenix. Although I find it depressing it was well done.
    5. Fantastic beasts and where to find them. The scenes with Newt and Jacob and the beasts were magical
    6. Deathly Hallows 2. It was a good conclusion to the series.
    7. Secrets of Dumbledore. I thought it was really good and liked Mads as Grundy
    8. Deathly Hallows 1. I didn’t care for the way they tried to create a love story for Harry and Hermione that wasn’t there in the books. It ruined it for me. Plus I felt like the parts with Ron moping were too far removed from reality and wasn’t well represented.
    9. Crimes of Grindlewald I think it gets a lot of beef but I think it gave a ton of info and still had twists and turns.
    10. Goblet of Fire. They left out some of the best parts of the book and tried to add so many action scenes that were so unnecessary. It made the story telling an after thought and ruined a great book.
    11. Half Blood Prince. I have read the books around a dozen times or more and this is my favorite book. It is a dark book but the way they tried to add comedy into the movie and make it a love triangle story and all about teen love is a complete insult to the source material. This movie more than any other makes me wish they would re make the movies.

    • @occheermommy

I will say that movies have to be pretty bad for me to just flat hate them or they have to go against my morals in some way. Order of the Phoenix I always have a hard time with because of the outright abuse Umbridge gets away with and we never see her get much retribution (from the law) in the books or movies. It is said on pottermore that she went to Azkaban but I wish they had a little epilogue that stated what happened to the characters like her. I think the movie was well done and love her actress so I ranked it higher even though I don’t like watching it. As far as Half Blood Prince goes I really dislike that movie and that is rare to me. I just think it’s bad.

Terrible take on the half blood prince. You make it seem like the whole movie was a romantic comedy when it wasn’t, 85% of the movie was mysterious and dark. And the romantic scenes were enjoyable too. We both agree HBP is the best plot which alone should make it a top 5 movie, sounds like you just have too high expectations since it’s your favorite book.

    • @occheermommy
      @occheermommy Год назад

@@coolkid7151 no I just think it was really poorly made. I felt like the romantic scenes are awkward and that weird burning of the burrow scene they added was awful and useless. I feel like they should have put the items in that were in the plot like the memories of Voldemorts past. These are very informative to the overall story and by eliminating them or altering them, you have people that think Voldemort was bullied instead or the bully. It’s makes a very different vibe to the villain of the entire series.

Just for example the huge fight after harry shows that he survived including the families of everyone, the houseelves, centaurs and more which reached it’s climax with the battle between harry and voldemort with everyone watching. Instead we got a weird scene where harry and voldemort jump from a cliff and voldemort evaporates into smoke.

Damn you rankings are soo far of from mine

  • @chosengirlonfire
    @chosengirlonfire 2 года назад +16

Here's my ranking with a few explanations:
    Deathly Hallows Part 2.
    - For me this film is just beautiful. I love the battle so much and how it shows not just Harry's point of view and it brings me such emotion on everyone fighting with the hugely powerful soundtrack. I also love how the prince's tale is done, covers most things and gets it across with more beautiful music. Great end to a wonderful series.
    Prisoner of Azkaban.
    - Another beautifully done film and has a dark tone to it but also warm and light hearted and the visuals of Hogwarts have forever stuck in my mind. I wish the marauders were more explained and maybe them winning the Quidditch Cup and the changes to Ron but still extremely nostalgic.
    Order of the Phoenix.
    - Definitely challenging to adapt but it was done so well. Umbridge's montage was great and I love the upbeat music but then darker music too. I also love the emphasis on love and friendship and how Harry feels so alone as it works well with the department of mysteries battle, which I also prefer in the film as it feels more like a battle but it was great in the book too. All the built up emotions greatly set the scene of how its more grave too.
    Deathly Hallows Part 1.
    - A bit boring in some parts but I loved the start with the music and build up, just a shame that it kind of lost all of its tension. The ending was great, Helena Bonham Carter did fantastic as Bellatrix and I really loved the atmosphere and Dobby's death was so sad. Also loved the way the tale of the three brothers was told too, really cinematic. I wish it was a bit faster, perhaps more on Dumbledore's past since they go make more films about it later.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
    - So I really like this film for some reason. I love the magical creatures, one of my favourite aspects from the books and I love Newt so much. He's a very different protagonist from Harry but it's a nice change. I also like the change from Hogwarts as getting to know a different society is a nice change too. I also love Tina and the character dynamics and Newt and his relationships with animals. Oh and Jacob, he is amazing and one of the best. Let's also add how the soundtrack is fantastic, quite nostalgic but new and dark but light.
    Philosopher's Stone.
    - I cannot watch this films with anyone as we all just sit there quoting it. I have watched it so many times coincidentally as it's always on the TV and it never get's old. The acting is slightly cringe but there obviously young and it's so memorable that I don't care much. The visual effects of Hogwarts and Diagon Alley etc are magical and this film is just something different.
    Secrets of Dumbledore.
    - I've only watched it once so far but I really enjoyed it. I might rank it higher when I watch it again as it'll probably grow on me. Because of my love of magical creatures, I loved this one too. The quilin is one of my favourites and I loved the fun simple plot and Jacob's arc. Lally was also amazing too but it's sad there wasn't much of Tina as she's one of my faves. I know some people think the plot and missions were pointless, but that was the point as they even said in the film: confuse Grindewald. Even so, some things feel a bit empty with no explanations too them but I guess they didn't know if it was going to do well.
    Chamber of Secrets.
    - Like the Philosopher's Stone, really nostalgic and light hearted. I ranked it low only because I get slightly bored cus I know the plot, I know the mystery as it's very simple and so looses it's flare. I also hate spiders so that scene creeps me out.
    Goblet of Fire.
    - So the changes in the plot annoy me a lot eg. the dragon and the maze. I also don't like the amount that was cut out from the book so it makes it feel quite empty and rushed through with no one's backstories explained much and also the missing Weasley. And the Quidditch World Cup being cut too as that would've been amazing to watch. Same with the house elves and the kitchen as it adds more to Hogwarts. Overall, not too bad but I don't watch it often. I do appreciate more Neville scene's though.
    Crimes of Grindewald.
    - I don't hate this film. The soundtrack was nice as well and I quite liked Leta. It's plot is very messy and it took me so many rewatches before i grasped some plot points but I enjoy the film every time I watch it. I wish there was a book first though as more things would be explained and would not confuse me as much. The also lack of magical creatures was sad as they're always cool.
    Half Blood Prince
    - I hate this film. I really don't like romance or comedy and it's over done in this film, especially compared to the book. It's one of the darkest and while the soundtrack is great, the romance bores me as it's so cringe and Ginny was ruined. I wish there was more of Voldemort's past as that was one of my favourite things from the book but no, it was filled with pointless romance as it never comes up again in the over films much. The random changes in plot too, makes no sense and it's just there to add more action and remind you, it's still a war and not everything's great in life. I just really hate this film as I never can finish it. They also cut the battle of the astronomy tower and completely ignored Bill's injuries until one line. And they ignored Tonk's and Remus's relationship and there wasn't much grief of Sirius's death either. So many things I could say but at least Jim Broadbent did a great job as Slughorn.
Well if you read all of this, how very nice of you and maybe let's discuss in the comments as it's fun to see others opinions. Other than that, have a great day.

    My ranking
    1. Deathly hallows part 2 - I've always really liked this film it just ends everything off really well
    2. Order of the phoenix - I like this one because of how great it's been portrayed. I'm sad they cut out some good scenes with McGonagall and Umbridge but it's still really good. I also don't like how they made Harry look in this they made him look more arrogant than he did in the books and it doesn't make him look good at all.
    3. Prisoner of Azkaban - I never really liked the book very much I found the shack scene just not very good but in the movies, they portrayed it really well.
    4. Half blood prince - I know this is not a very well-liked film but I enjoyed most of it. I don't like how they portray Ginny and Harry's relationship I thought they could've done better.
    5. Philosopher's stone - I don't particularly like this one but I like how they keep it very accurate to the books.
    6. Chamber of secrets - I liked this one apart from that there are a lot of unexplained things that you would only get if you have read the books.
    7. Goblet of fire - I dislike this film because of the maze scene I feel they missed out on really good bits that are in the books. I would say it's an okay movie but I don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy the others.
    8. Deathly hallows part 1 - this is one of the worst movies, I don't like how they portrayed it at all. Especially how they made ron look in this film and just generally the scenes they added like the dancing scene between Harry and Hermione. I also don't like how they didn't keep to the book in some bits. I do like the Malfoy manor bit though, I think they did that well.
    9. Fantastic Beasts - I like the fantastic beasts franchise but I don't think it's better than the original movies. This one is my favourite out of all three because it actually fits with the name of the movie and it focuses more on newt than the other two.
    10. Secrets of Dumbledore - I did quite like this one but I didn't like the weird plot twists and the confusing storyline, it was still I good movie and I would watch it again though.
    11. Crimes of Grindlewald - this is by far the worst movie out of all. I just think they could've done so much better with the storyline although I did like some scenes in it it still was a bad film.

I honestly think that in some ways, the Harry Potter films "fan reactions" aren't fully trustworthy cause most of the fans for the earlier movies probably didn't review.... and their opinions weren't as common in these reviews...
Also, these reviews are often aggrigated based on who viewed it as good vs bad rather than HOW bad...
So only 38% thought the movie was good rather than it being that the critics thought it was only a 38%.... like, if a critic thinks it's only a little bad, it'd be put on as bad...
Also, while the critic ranking is different, the fans did like the movies from 10 and up.... with minor differences in rankings not being relevant...
And for SS, 81% is REALLY GOOD.... so the critics DID love it... but they obvious grew to love the franchise more as it grew...
Also, for Secrets of Dumbledore, I think the very fact that people were so unsatisfied by the previous Fantastic Beasts movies that it just being good made the movie seem better to them...
And frankly, 77% and 81% for Order is still REALLY good....
And you should also look at what is close, like how you picked DHP2 as the 2nd best while fans and critics did it as 1st...

    5: Deathly Hallows 2
    4: Chamber of Secrets
    3: The Philosophers Stone
    2: Order of The Phoenix
    1: Prisoner of Azkaban
Secrets of Dumbledore (and the rest of Fantastic Beasts) didn’t feel too much like Harry Potter to me. They were all highly political, the magic felt and looked different, and especially in CoG and SoD, multiple spells were changed from their book/movie counterparts. The whole aspect of mystery the franchise was built on almost completely disappeared. Plus Johnny Depp not returning as Grindelwald threw the entire movie out the window.
Goblet of Fire was too comedic in place of the other movies around it. Mike Newell is directly to blame in my eyes, being the producer and director of the film. Voldemort coming in the 3rd act, despite being my favourite scene in the franchise is such a shock in mood from the previous Triwizard Tournament tasks and sequences.
Half blood Prince suffered similar issues with the tone as Goblet did, but it wasn’t so drastic when Dumbledore dies that you get whiplash from the mood shift.
The rest of the movies could be shifted around between them, since they were all pretty good in my mind.

Despite its differences from the book, Goblet of Fire is one of my favourite films in the HP series. I think that my favourite film out of the 8 is probably Prisoner of Azkaban, largely because of the cinematography.
I read all 7 books before I ever watched any of the films. My favourite book of the 7 is probably Half-Blood Prince.

Behold my Ranking, I a guy who read all the books, watched all the movies
    11) Fantastic Beasts the Secrets of Dumbledore (I suspect once I rewatch the movie a few times I'll learn to love it but right now. I am not impressed)
    10) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (I rewatched this recently and found that I don't hate it as much as I used to but someone has to be last on a race)
    9) Fantastic Beasts the Crimes of Grindelwald (I liked this movie, I'm not going to pretend I didn't)
    8) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 (it would be much higher seeing as this is my favorite of the books if they hadn't cut Kreacher's tale and put so much Harmione)
    7) Fantastic Beasts and where to find them
    6) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (this movie is beautiful but I just can't bring myself to forgive them cutting the Marauders story. I also did not appreciate Lupin acting like Lily was his best friend instead of James. People talk about Ron being ruined to favor Hermione but not a lot of people realize they did the same thing to James to prop up Lily)
    5) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
    4) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (my only gripe is they cut Snape calling Lily a mudblood - that was important. You can probably tell I'm a James Potter fan so I don't like when they water down Snape's meanness but they don't water down James meanness)
    3) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (underrated beyond measure/the book was my favorite for so long so biased I am. Right now my favorite book is Deathly Hallows)
    2) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2
    1) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (I know it cut out a lot of things, but it's the first Harry Potter movie I ever saw as a kid and I had just read the book. It was a wide gap before I watched another Harry Potter movie and used to think this was the only one that existed so I rewatched it so many times and I love this movie. Truly I do)
I've tried ranking the books but I can't. I love them all. I do know which one is my favorite but I have no idea which one I like the least. I also don't hate the movies, it's just way easier to rank them.

There is a major flaw in your system and its that the audience score in rotten is mostly of people that doesn't take HP seriously or have even read the books and just score the movies in how entertaining they were. But I understand its the only method you have because its not easy to find a fan score from a legit page. Still I dont think at all thats the real order of movies of the real fans.

I agree with you that all of the 8 Harry Potter movies are better than the Fantastic Beast Movies.
But I personally wouldn't rank the Philosophers Stone that high.. I actually like the half blood prince more.. which I know is probably an unpopular opinion.
My ranking for the HP movies from best to worst would be:
    1. Deathly Hallows Part 2
    2. Order of the Phoenix
    3. Prisoner of Azkaban
    4. Half blood prince
    5. Chamber of secrets
    6. Deathly Hallows Part 1
    7. Philosophers Stone
    8. Goblet of Fire

I really liked the first fanstatic beast film when I saw it for the first time. What I liked was that I could just enjoy it from the prespective of not having a book to compare it to and just enjoy the story for what it was. However I think that only works if it was going to just be a stand alone story not a series. I REALLY wish JK had done the fantasitc beast as another book series not a movie series. ( I say this over and over haha) but that's just me.

    11. Half Blood Prince (A massacre of an adaptation)
    10. Goblet of Fire (Some elements were adapted horribly but it has some magnificent scenes, like Voldemort resurrection)
    9. Crimes of Grindelwald (Could have been so much better)
    8. Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Pretty good)
    7. Order of Phoenix (Book just wasn't that great, Harry's character arc in the movie is pretty good though)
    6. Secrets of Dumbledore (Fight me)
    5. Deathly Hallows Part 2 (Really good ending, but they cut out almost everything concerning Dumbledore's past and Deathly Hallows)
    4. Prisoner of Azkaban (A great movie by any standard)
    3. Fantastic Beasts (Blame it on nostalgia, but this film is much more magical than a lot of Harry Potter films)
    2. Philosopher's Stone (Absolutely wonderful introduction to the series)
    1. Chamber of Secrets (Best mystery, best adaptation, best film)

Yes Indeed but despite what you may think, we need to worry about more is people refusing to go and see #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore all because of her comments; I’d highly encourage and recommend everyone [please Encourage as many other people as you can as well please :-) See it as many times as they can in theaters, and even If possible, buy a ticket for it In place of going to see another movie so that way it still gets money without you actually having to see it multiple times. Buying as many merchandise directly related to it as possible will also truly help.
Also remember that if you’re refusing to see it because of #JohnnyDeppIsMyGrindelwald Then please remember that this movie needs to do well so as to give Johnny the chance to actually come back in the Later movies, For the actor who played MacNair The executioner was re-casted for prisoner of Azkaban and then came back for order of the Phoenix. The bottom line is that if #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore Doesn’t do well, And they don’t make the remaining two movies, then Johnny definitely will never be back as Grindelwald!Plus you also have to remember that it’s about to be a new company with new people over seeing it, So as such you were technically not paying that company and are actually giving more of a chance than not having him actually return. Especially depending on what may happen with the results of his trial that’s going to be happening shortly after the movie comes out, the new people taking over Warner Bros. right before it comes out……
Also remember in regards to her that she doesn’t necessarily get a whole lot of money from this, as well the fact remains that as many people have pointed out that she already has so much money that not supporting the series will not really change any kind of “power“ that you may have against her, and after all the series should not suffer at all because of her for Regardless of what you may think, nothing I repeat nothing will ever ever truly take away what a series overall truly means to you let alone other people, And again it’s not The series that’s the problem at all in any kind of way :-)
Also keep in mind that even though it’s not the best example they have at least one transgender person or someone who identifies themselves as “They” in the cast so much for her transphobia……

I think Secrets of Dumbledore was ranked so high because of how bad Crimes of Grindelwald was.
SoD wasn't that great but it was a massive improvement over CoG (imo at least), so the jump in quality prolly screwed over the results.

  • @MovingSoundcloud
    @MovingSoundcloud 2 года назад

While at first glance it might look like SoD is one of the best movies in the franchise, it only has +2500 reviews from the fans. While OotP for example has +250.000 reviews. That's a big difference.
So I would think that in the end, SoD might go a bit lower due to that most fans haven't even seen the film.
The beautiful thing though about SoD is that it brought back the whimsical magic we all came to love from the HP series. This aspect is vital to the series (more than people realise) and was missed in CoG (and a bit in FB).
For the book lovers, there are so many scenes were we read something amazing through Harry's eyes and Ron has to explain what stupid but fun magic it is. The same goes for the movies. People didn't fall in love with the big actions scenes. They fell in love with the fun magic we saw in PS and CoS. And while those big action scenes in HP certainly look amazing, it's these little fun magical scenes we all fell in love with!

when i watched your video about the OotP, i agree about everything you said concerning what was added to make it better, but when we first watch it my friend and i, the screen received our middle finger. the main reason was that for us at least the content was so much changed that the biggest book became the smallest HP movie. also the relationship between cho and harry + how it ended along with everything else that went there and the quidditch cut entirely removed a lot from it.

Oh you should try to see it as soon as you can, we need to worry about more is people refusing to go and see #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore all because of her comments; I’d highly encourage and recommend everyone [please Encourage as many other people as you can as well please :-) See it as many times as they can in theaters, and even If possible, buy a ticket for it In place of going to see another movie so that way it still gets money without you actually having to see it multiple times.

    My ranking:
    11. CoG “just a mess”
    10. GoF “also quite messy and deviates too much from the book”
    9. SoD “I liked some aspects but, the plot is too bonkers”
    8. OotP “I didn’t really like the vibe and style of the movie and it was too fast pace for my taste, in its Defense it had to cut down a 900 page book to a few hours so no wonder everything felt a bit rushed”
    7. HBP “entertaining but again a bit rushed I also think they cut some precious things from the book”
    6. DH1 “good but just as the book extremely boring in some parts”
    5. CoS “super cozy and well made but with a few too many plotholes”
    4. SS “literally my comfort movie, feels like a warm blanket and a bowl of cookies”
    3. FB “I love the feel and visuals of the movie, and Newt is my favourite HP character after maybe Dumbledore and Umbridge”
    2. DH2 “every scene is a masterpiece (almost)”
    1. PoA “this movie is truly magical and it captures the magic of HP beautifully Lupin is just perfect, he can do no wrong and this is also the movie most focused on Hermione which is always good, Hagrid is also a star in this movie and I quite enjoy the tone and visuals”

I have some ideas for your later videos:
    1. Make reviews for the Harry Potter books just like you did with the worst and best HP book and the video essays for the Harry Potter films.
    2. Make "Book vs Movie differences" videos for the Hunger games just like you did with Harry Potter (Please don't do the same for Percy Jackson. We don't want you to suffer watching those garbage movies again.)
    3. Read Tolkien's Hobbit and Lord of the Rings book series (my favourite series) and start making videos on them. You can watch the movies too.
In any case, take your time. We don't want to force you to do all those videos and if you do, try to be patient with them, okay?

    My Personal Rankings:
    1. Order Of The Phoenix.
I believe that OOTP is the best film in the franchise because of the way it tells the story. Personally I think that the book is beautiful and it takes that story, cuts the fluff and crafts a beautifully poetic storyline filled with hidden things that you get more as you grow up.
Behind the scenes wise I absolutely LOVED the editing. I think that the music and editing were some of the best of the franchise with the editing being THE BEST. Almost everything was perfect to me.
    2. Prisoner of Azkaban
POA is the perfect bridge between the childish first two films and the darker fourth film. A perfect coming of age story and I honestly find the cinematography so immersive and creative and the music is pretty cool too.
    3. Deathly Hallows Part 2.
The perfect ending to the franchise with absolutely STELLAR MUSIC.
    4. Half Blood Prince.
Hear me out. I know I know it’s NOTHING like the book. It’s filled with cheesy comedic moments and stuffed with relationships and yes like you I don’t like that. BUT. there is nothing in the franchise like the struggle Draco has about killing Dumbledore. the emotion Dumbledore portrays during the cave scenes and to top it off a PERFECT SCORE which never fails to make my Spotify top 5. Furthermore the way the death of Dumbledore was portrayed was beautiful and the light overcoming the dark was something that moved me like no other film has done.
    5. Deathly Hallows Part 1.
I find this film as more of a filler film as it’s only the first half of the heroes journey. Whilst it’s fun on the first watch, rewatches are less fun as it’s only half of the story. The music is beautiful and was well composed and the editing was at its usual high standards. While some scenes made me feel emotions others felt dry and like filler. The scene where Hermione is tortured honestly makes me uncomfortable and when hedwig dies it makes me sad (not quite crying). The scene at the ministry is superb and one of the best of the franchise. But most other scenes are dry and boring to me
    6. Philosophers Stone
I love it because it’s the opening to the franchise but as a film itself it bores me. It’s not really my type of film hence the lower ranking however as a film it is beautifully made and the score is quite good too. (Other than the iconic score of hedwigs theme)
    7. Chamber of secrets
Exactly the same points as philosophers stone but doesn’t have any iconic scores. The music is just plain average.
    8. Goblet of fire.
    MIKE NEWALL.
    That is all.
    9. Secrets of Dumbledore
Dumbledore is my favourite character in the whole franchise and I absolutely loved the new film. However I cannot justify putting it any higher than here until all 5 of the films are out due to any contradictory content which may happen. However it is my favourite fantastic beasts film and my favourite Grindlewald portrayal thus far. (Sorry Johnny 💗)
    10. Fantastic Beasts
I mean it’s okay It’s just not memorable in any way
    11. Crimes of Grindlewald
I literally don’t remember anything about this film other than the arc of leta lestrange and that is due to me watching Morgan’s videos not the film. It’s convoluted but bland, the music is mundane and I honestly cant recall a single scene from that film.
    12. (If there ever was one) cursed child
    ---------------------
    Book rankings:
    1. OOTP
    2. GOF
    3. HBP
    4. DH

    7. CS

I am honestly surprised you ranked the first Fantastic Beasts movie so low. I think the first movie of this series was pretty well done. The magic was done well, the new characters were interesting, the humor was there and we actually had fantastic beasts. The main problem of the movie series is the story line of Grindelwald which is done pretty poorly in every movie but gets especially bad in the sequels. That's why i personally agree with the fan score, the Goblet of Fire and the Half-blood Prince completely neglected their book counter parts and deserve the low rankings.

I have to agree with you on order of the Phoenix. It’s my favourite closely followed by chamber of secrets and philosopher’s stone.

I think for me DH1 goes much higher because to me it felt most accurate. I read the books after the movies but the movies came out before I was born so I didn't have to wait for DH2 to come out for so long than fans who are older than me did. I really loved that movie apart from the Harmione dance which no Romione forever and Ron being totally out of character but I would rank it 2nd over all.
My ranking would be CoG, SoD, FB, GoF, HBP, CoS, PS (or SS), PoA, DH2, DH1 and then OoTP

    11-Half-Blood Prince

    8-Deathly Hallows, part 2
    7-Secrets of Dumbledore

    3-Order of the Phoenix

    1- Chamber of Secrets
But I like them all and am always pleased to see any of them!
I do not really understand why Crimes of Grindelwald was so disliked by fans. I do understand it for critics, but I thought that the second Fantastic Beasts movie was designed for people who knew a lot of things about the saga. I thought that the stories were really interesting and intriguing. I think it is quite an unpopular opinion though, because when I talk about it with other Potterheads, they ask me to repeat to make sure they understood well...
