Frank: The truth is...I never liked cake. Alice: So is your cell in Azkaban. Neville: I'll join you when hell freezes over. Dumbledore's Army!! The Long bottoms are comeback royalty.
I cried watching it. His parents went from loving smart parents to damaged vegetables. Alice looking at frank who was sitting there breathing strangely was heartbreaking.
Me too, and I'm 40 years old. Maybe it's because we know how this will end up for the Longbottoms. And we see how much love they have for Neville and each other too.
I love that Neville as a baby had a stuffed toad, which his granny knew he always liked. Nice little foreshadowing right there. Also, in that brief moment when Alice is kidnapped, I could’ve sworn I saw Kingsley among the aurors. The one on the left. Definitely seems like a younger version of Kingsley from the films.
To the second part of what you said, (the bit about Kingsley Shacklebolt is the only bit I payed attention to) no wonder this guy is an Auror, he is the best.
That actress who played Bellatrix was absolutely chilling! Had to double take as to whether it was the real one or not, then the “allo handsome!” At frank! Urgh! The actress must have knew she wanted to be hated by not only the characters but the audience too! Oh and as a Mum to my own little man, every single scene with Alice and Neville always makes me tear up! That scene at the end with the gum wrappers! Always makes my heart break!
I like this especially as it shows Neville's story. Neville could have been the chosen one as the prophecy was basically a coin flip between Harry and Neville who was born the day before. Because the books are told solely from Harry's POV, we don't get to see other people's heartbreaking stories. Susan Bones lost her entire family is except her aunt, whom she then loses just before the start of year six. I would love to see the HP books shown from other people's perspective because Harry isn't the only one who lost a lot during both wars.
We knew from Deathly Hallows that Agusta was a badass old witch, but now we really get to see that her son and daughter-in-law were too. The Longbottoms were absolutely great characters for how little page time they got. Alice should have stayed home 😭
some things i noticed: -neville's room has plant wallpaper and a ton of plants and we find out later in the series that he loves herbology -frank and alice were tortured in malfoy mannor's basement -lily said to harry "Be brave, Harry. Mama loves you. Dada loves you. Always be brave,” which is basically what alice and frank said to neville -when the snatchers get alice, the guy who acts as frank says "Hello, gorgeous," to her, which is what was said to hermione -neville crying when his mother was captured may resemble harry when his mother died -when alice dropped after losing her mind with frank and the camera looks above them, it kinda looks like lupin and tonks when they died, the woman being on the left, the man on the right (i freaking love lupin and tonks, i will resent jk rowling for killing them) -when the order of the phoenix come in to save frank and alice, it looks like in the deathly hallows when they come in to save harry in the great hall -augusta saying to neville "and hold onto trevor" is what neville didn't do when he got on the train
I'm kinda tempted to disagree with the point of Malfoy Manor basement being used - if it was, canonically that would implicate the Malfoys in the crime with no chance of leniency and we know for a fact that Lucius managed to keep his head down and himself out of Azkaban. Personally, it looked more to me like it was an abandoned subway.
These cinematographers were exceptionally talented. Almost perfectly executed for a fan film. What would've made it perfect was a full movie budget to do the same treatment to other story lines. The depth of emotion and connection to the Longbottoms achieved in this short was only helped by the fact we had a connection to them. Even someone who may have had minimal backstop would have been able to not have some sympathy for them. I cried and then shared your reaction and went to their channel. Wow.
If someone told me that this fan film was actually canon, I would've believed them. This is simply incredible. The acting, effects, camera work, dialogue, costume design, pacing, callbacks, everything is top notch.
I think what makes Alice and Frank's story even better in this film is adding the detail that they did know Voldemort's whereabouts and they still didn't tell. I got the sense from the books that they didn't have any information and their capture and torture was a useless cruelty out of desperation by Bellatrix and co.
yeah, I watch it and it was also made by the guys who made Sevrues snape and the murdorder (I spelled that wrong).I haven't watch it i while but i cry watching it
I like how the actress who played Bellatrix kind of toned down the extreme character of her role. Not sure if she did it intentionally, but it seems to reflect how Bellatrix wasn’t AS mentally deranged as when she escaped Azkaban all those years later.
She was more accurate to book Bellatrix, character wise. I enjoy HBC's performance but I wish she'd been a little closer to the book version (in both character and appearance).
Also, I noticed a detail he didn't point out that when Baby Neville was crying, Augustus tried to give him a frog plush, obviously foreshadowing hell he's going to have Trevor his pet frog.
This is one of the more well done movies & has so much emotion. This is also great as the only thing we have of the incident is the trial in the pensive. Also, the ‘black’ witch!😅The transitions are also impeccable. But they definitely could’ve made the crucio curse better by making it act the same way and same sounds as the movies…
In the book Frank WAS tortured first, then when he wouldn't say anything, they moved onto his wife Alice, I don't know if they were there together, originally.
None of us really could have appreciated this film truly without Morgan's explanation. The subtle details throughout is something that had been achieved incredibly well. Well done Muggle Flix and thank you Morgan for your awesome videos as always.
The fact that fan films explore the most crucial aspects of the wizarding world more and better than the eight movies ever made says a lot about how the "less is more" BS harms movies instead of "helping".
Also in comparison to the shit they call fantastic beasts(not even mentioning cursed child) that we got. There is so much potential and warner bros is just wasting all of it.

This whole narrative that the films are the worst things ever is stupid. They literally built a whole generation of kids who prefer movies to books. Why do you think general movie fans think so highly of them and don't want a reboot?
Voldemort: Origins of the Heir has the cool lore moments that The Half- Blood Prince movie should have focused on, instead of the love- triangle. Neville Longbottom & the Black Witch has the feels. I almost bawled my eyes out watching it.
Thanks for watching! I was one of the aurors that appeared at the end. On the left as Dumbledore appears and escorting one of the death Eaters out in the next shot. Be blessed!!!
I'm usually not a fan of fan films. But, I was actually surprised when I saw this. This was well done, and you can tell that the creators of this film really love the source material. I can actually see this fit in canon.
Im not crying, Im cosplaying as the ocean! Srsly this video really did well with the books ! Really heartbreaking The whole movie was better then Harry POtter itself WOW
This was my first time watching this and I really am impressed by the amazing filming techniques and the amazing acting as well! There were so many times where I just wanted to cry with Neville as he sees his parents after they were driven mad. I honestly wished this was actually canon because I felt that even though Neville was a part of the prophecy as well as Harry that Neville didn't get this in the movies to further his character growth. I loved watching this very much!
Easily in the Top 5 of Potter Fan Films. I Recommend checking out these as well: La Maitre de La Mort (The Master of Death) - It’s a French dubbed fan film but it’s a brilliant story of Tom Riddle’s transformation into Lord Voldemort. The Greater Good - Made by the same folks who did “Severus Snape and the Marauders”. It’s about the death of Ariana Dumbledore. Mischief Managed: This one is a lighthearted story taking place during the Marauder’s final year in Hogwarts.
I love this series, the fan film was amazing and your review pointed out tons of details I didn’t notice before! I especially loved how they had the room be the same wallpaper as in the pottermore art, that was such a good addition.
I totally agree with you. Every line and every scene is so well thought - heck, not just every scene but every single frame, TBH. And - yes - I cried at the transition scene from one bubble-gum wrapper to the other. Actually, I cried twice. At the same scene, watching the movie itself and then your commentary
I did not remember the title, so I went to the link to watch again. I loved this when I saw it 3 years ago. I loved it a second time. It was so well done! The actors were all fantastic. And while I know exactly zero about filmmaking, I thought the look of it was perfect - dark, creepy, intense, but never making that the focus. The focus was the story and the characters. All the details you pointed out that I wouldn't have noticed make me even more impressed by this! The older I get, and now having a parent with dementia, the more unbearable it is to see the story of Neville and his parents. I think this little movie captured everything perfectly. And while this is based on an already existing universe/characters, it's still a great example of the fact that you don't need to have a million dollar budget and out of this world special effects to make a good movie. Sure, you need some basic filmmaking skills. You don't want things looking like crap. But even more important is a well written story, convincing actors, and a passion for the story you are telling. This had it all.
These are very valuable characters to you if your face looked like 16:24. Because that was really somber great expression showed and the show I’ve seen and it’s just extraordinary! 😢

Oh my God I just burst into tears watching this review. Did you notice there was a frog toy in his crib with him? His own little Trevor plush.... 😫 OMG so beautiful
I know things like these are completely subjective, but for me at least, it's just way better. Cinematography is to me a lot more in the spirit of the original movies, and the acting is better in my opinion.
This was an amazing film. I teared up watching Alice fall along with Neville. My only question is if they caught Barty Crouch jr then wouldn’t that make Karkaroff’s trial irrelevant?
Karkaroff did not namedrop Barty Jr at all; Barty Jr had a separate trial with the Lestranges. Karkaroff mentioned Snape (who Dumbledore vouched for) and a couple other Death Eaters who the Ministry had already put in Azkaban, and then he namedropped Augustus Rookwood which is what got him off the hook.
OH MY GOSH THAT WAS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!!!!!! 10/10 well deserved, I would've been mad if it was any lower that was awesome! I am no master film created, I haven't even studied for that, however I know a quality movie when I see one. As MovieFlame said the transitions were absolutely beautiful! and the final lines of both Longbottom's were absolutely breathtaking! the voice acting was great, the acting was great, the scenery was beautiful, Bellatrix looked absolutely maniacal and mad so it fit her character perfectly, they even added in the other 3 death eaters from the trial memory in "Half-Blood Prince" every easter egg and detail in this was spectacular! I will definitely recommend their channel to all my Potterhead friends, and personally make sure this video gets the views it deserves. Honestly, everything about it was breath taking, and honestly this should be cannon to the Harry Potter trilogy. The Longbottom's being so brave even when threatened and Dumbledore with his wise advice as usual with Neville's parents having a slight memory in their hearts, I really felt that. All in all this was a GREAT fan film, and I will definitely revisit it in the future!
one thing you didnt notice was when Alice was in the forest the death eater said "Hello, gorgeous" Just like what they said to Hermione in the deathly Hollows
When I first heard about this movie I thought it gonna be a disaster but after watching it its one of my favorites.... note- it's far better than harry potter and the cursed child 🙃 know that was a book but I prefer this though
I think one small detail they missed was to put Dumbledore's glasses on. It's strange to see him not wearing his glasses. (Also maybe a bit far-fetched but Bellatrix' teeth. I always thought they were danged mostly for her time in Azkaban).
You could actually identify Barty by his hair. He was described as having yellowish-brown hair, and in this film he was the only one that had that hair color, and we could actually see it when he is on the ground
random fact: teddy lupin is the harry/neville of the new century! harry: parents died fighting dark forces, supportive godfather, orphan. neville: raised by grandmother
My opinion on Bellatrix: she should've looked undeniably gorgeous.. not to say the actress isn't, but the makeup is how she looked after spending 15 years in Azkaban. It took a toll on her once gorgeous looks making her look gaunt, with a slight resemblance to her beauty that she still had even after all that time. They should've given her a more natural look to showcase her devilish beauty, instead of giving her dark eye makeup and coloring her teeth, because this is how she will look 15 years from now, not present time.
This fan film was phenomenal. The only minor critique I would have would be Bella’s appearance. It was said that she was very beautiful prior to Azkaban, so in the fan film’s time frame Bella should still be very pretty and not at all crazed looking, untamed hair and face sunken in.
The only criticism I could give is the St. Mungo's nurse costumes. They take you out a little because of how silly they look, plus the nurse sitting down wouldn't have long hair down while at work. Should've done something more like Madame Pomfrey. I also wish they'd done their own Bellatrix rather than copy pasting Helena's interpretation because it felt like imitation rather than interpretation/acting.
In the scene where alice is surrounded by death eaters and aurors show up is kingsley shacklebolt in that group lol if so that's awesome and btw legendary fan film I've seen a bunch this ones one of my favorites
I was so impressed of it, it was almost as if a professional, high budget team was behind this. And I understood directly that the stunned guy was Barty as the two brothers looked similar in body type and looks how siblings would be. As a sequel 'Morgan Reacts' , you could maybe watch the series 'Mudblood' from Conrad Studios, a three parter. I was amazed of the details they thought of, but it can be a but clunky at times.
This is my favourite fanfilm ever! It’s basically perfect and it’s the first fanfilm I ever saw so it set such a high bar others can’t reach! For other fanfilms I’ve seen you haven’t reacted to, they aren’t as plot heavy and not much happens in them but there’s ‘mischief managed’ which is another marauders one. That wasn’t isn’t as dark as the Snape vs marauders one, it’s more a slice of life thing really but I think the dynamic is pretty cool.
Frank: The truth is...I never liked cake.
Alice: So is your cell in Azkaban.
Neville: I'll join you when hell freezes over. Dumbledore's Army!!

I honestly hope that someday Neville will finally be able to talk to his parents and they all finally can live happily.
The most accurate casting you could possibly get other than the actual actors from the movies
you have to watch ‘Mischief Managed’ next - it’s one of the best!!
Poor parents I feel so so bad for them the end is heartbreaking.
I noticed that the framing of Alice saying goodbye to Neville is framed the exact way Lily tells Harry to be brave in the prince's tale
Spot on.
Keep your eyes open. This group is going places.
i love watching your reactions to fanfilms like this
OH MY GOSH THAT WAS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!!!!!!
I’m not crying you’re crying🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😫😫😫😫😫😫😫 19:08
I love your reaction to when you saw Dumbledore!❤️❤️
12:26 Nevile's blanket toy is a toad
one thing you didnt notice was when Alice was in the forest the death eater said "Hello, gorgeous" Just like what they said to Hermione in the deathly Hollows
The way this in put together brings a tear to my eye
HOLY FUCK YOU REACTED TO ITTT!!!!😱😱😱
Got me teary eyed even as a review
Shout out to the cameraman with his fast running and great teleportation
Shout out to that little baby actor! He deserves an Oscar!
I absolutely loved this film, I remember the first time I watched it I was so impressed by how well the story was filmed
14:42 “oh shit” 🤣🤣🤣
My opinion on Bellatrix: she should've looked undeniably gorgeous.. not to say the actress isn't, but the makeup is how she looked after spending 15 years in Azkaban. It took a toll on her once gorgeous looks making her look gaunt, with a slight resemblance to her beauty that she still had even after all that time. They should've given her a more natural look to showcase her devilish beauty, instead of giving her dark eye makeup and coloring her teeth, because this is how she will look 15 years from now, not present time.
Well, I wasn't planning on crying today, still here I am with tears running down my face. This movie was soooo good. I love it
same here
I wouldn't have found this if you hadn't put it on your page. Im glad I'm subscribed to your channel.
This fan film was phenomenal. The only minor critique I would have would be Bella’s appearance. It was said that she was very beautiful prior to Azkaban, so in the fan film’s time frame Bella should still be very pretty and not at all crazed looking, untamed hair and face sunken in.
I’m so glad you made one of this! I suggested this one right away
Trevor in the end and frog teddy in the middle of the film🪴🐸 ❤️🔥AMASING❤️🔥
The only criticism I could give is the St. Mungo's nurse costumes. They take you out a little because of how silly they look, plus the nurse sitting down wouldn't have long hair down while at work. Should've done something more like Madame Pomfrey. I also wish they'd done their own Bellatrix rather than copy pasting Helena's interpretation because it felt like imitation rather than interpretation/acting.
Where’s the nomination and/or award for best short film?!? 😱😱😱😱 couldn’t agree more that this is an easy 10 out of 10
Brought a tear to my eye just like the book scene.
“Oh sh*t!!” My favorite moment of this video
I’m pretty sure they cut to the forest scene from deathly hallows part one
18:11 in the starting of this vid, The radio said Sirius was captured but how is he sitting there freely in St. Mungo??? He should be in Azkaban
In the scene where alice is surrounded by death eaters and aurors show up is kingsley shacklebolt in that group lol if so that's awesome and btw legendary fan film I've seen a bunch this ones one of my favorites
This was so heart wrenching. That channel just gained a sub.
I believe that fan theory on Neville’s magic talent, also J.K. Rowling, please make this canon
Dope new background Morgan. The green Movieflame logo is 🔥
