@@MichelleKhare did you know it only takes 100 nuclear weapons to cause a nuclear winter that would destroy civilization as we know it? Your choice was terrible.

I live in Hawaii. A few years ago we had an emergency notification on cell phones and broadcast on air that nuclear missiles were on the way to Hawaii, I assumed from N. Korea. It ended up being a false alarm that some poor guy accidentally set off, but for about fifteen minutes we thought we were going to get hit by a nuclear bomb. We were looking up nuclear fallout, scale of mushroom cloud, wind direction, where to shelter underground, how to survive a nuclear blast… we called our loved ones and said goodbye. It was the scariest fifteen minutes of my life.
I remember this , it happened during Trumps presidency. It was done to collect secret information to bypass the shadow government and only came to military leaders and Trumps close inner circle. In short, it was done on purpose and there's an excellent video on YT explaining what information was transferred during the scare. Should go check out said video so you too may know that it wasn't some accident by some schmuck.
@@LP_0820 You stick your nose everywhere always trying to destabilize countries which pose a threat to your world dominance . Then you can't whine about being nuked. If you were a peaceful nation you wouldn't need to worry about nuclear war.

Thats probably worst decision you could make, sending the entire world into a nuclear winter even if it's only 2 countries at nuclear war, convential or peaceful response would be best, even if your country dies you would atleast save the world
As a military officer I can say that these simulations are way more stressful than they seem. When you're in the role, you actually have limited time to make decisions while pondering every potential consequence. It's difficult, but you do learn a lot. Great video.
@@taoist32 Pretty much the same as any previous administration would've been. Pacifism and Humanism die when the nukes fly. That's the big lesson you can take from this video.
This is why we do drills and go over most scenarios over and over so that even something like this is muscle memory. Coming from a ballistic missile submariner.
Richard Feynman once said that the thing that impressed him most about a general was his ability to stare out of a window for a few minutes and make a decisive decision.
My decision would be to do nothing. There is nothing you can do. The nukes are going to land no matter what you do. I would never inform the public. There is no point in causing the last few minutes of their lives to be distraught. Responding to such an attack would be that of the attackers. The outcome of the attack would be the support of the people once you go on the news to explain the loss of the people, the question should be why did they attack us in the first place.
Not really. The President would be hearing their response options for the first time in this situation. The President never participates in these sorts of drills so there is no way to determine what they may do, That sort of information would be gold to a hostile nuclear power.
@@Greyboi604☺️👍 I understand, thank you very much for happily explaining this unknown scenario to my senses so it could be sent to my brain, and be fashionably processed and completely understood. thanks for assisting me here, this is a very factual message. I will make sure that what you have recently used your device for slash sending this very factual message, is sent out and spread across the chats that this comment will eventually host! This simulation is quite literally a nightmare scenario. There is absence of information due to the fog of war, and trying to get more information takes up time you don't have, giving you absence of action. It's very cruel, and terrifying to think that this could potentially happen
I'd say it's an unrealistic setup. Any president or decision maker in that position would at the very least have a deep understanding of their own militaries capabilities and have some established doctrine around how to respond. Their would also be longer lead up that would provide context to diplomatic situation around the conflict. Countries don't just randomly start slinging nukes at each others population centers. You'd have a lead up that would be months if not years in the making.
@@chriskerwin3904 yes, It's unrealistic that way, though it completes the objective of understanding the average person's decision making skills under stress with very high pressure. Though in reality, once any type of shady business starts a behind the scene plan will also start (more so, defense and offense planning in case of emergencies)
Imagine this but at space scales. The game theory prevents some of the necessary communication at all due to the speed of light, so decisions have to be made in the absence of information about the threat.
May be true but the point of a nuclear deterrent is that it's existance is so it's never fired. Nobody wants to pay billions of pounds or dollars a year for a system a scared leader won't use evemif
Watching this video, also stressed me out hearing everything. This was a tearjerker, like a movie with no good ending at all. I’m really glad youtube recommended this to me, it was 100% worth it. May we never use these weapons forever.
He wasn't even the only one, I believe there was also someone who refused an order to launch nuclear missiles. Nuclear war was averted several times by Soviet individuals keeping their heads cold.
@@RedragonKidWithin 2 minutes, I have concluded a better solution. 1. Scramble Jets to guard impacted states 5 miles outside of blast radius/effect. 2. Get EMS near blast radius zones before impact. 3. Inform high value assets/political figures/government agents to evacuate 2 minutes before a public shelter notice. - 3.1 Make the shelter notice clear to shelter and NOT RUN unless in outer effect range. Re-estate that running not within that range will result in death. 4. Attack all opposing country military assets and invade it into American soil.

What a great episode. This sheds light on something that most people don't ever get to wonder, the weigh of your decision. Obama wrote this : "So, I ran a tight process. I trusted my team. I listened to every voice in the room. I gave myself space to think. And then I made a decision that reflected my own personal sense of what was right. While I couldn’t guarantee the outcome, I was confident in making the decision."

With all the glorious but otherwise empty words he till deemed an ineffective present. The lesson is don't believe in bullshits. True character only shows in actions.
This needs to be a mandatory public test for all potential presidential candidates, but also for all nation leaders for other leaders to understand but also for those voting them into power to understand who they are working with. This was such a good video to watch!
@renzowessels505 that's a very surface level cause effect child like thinking. Push yourself to answer your own question as you evidently have never been a leader before. And if you have you would do better with some training and a mentor.
What other rights would also require a mandatory test to enjoy? Running for office is linked to one's right to vote, so requiring a test now restricts that right as well. So, do we have an assembly right test? Association right test? A free press right test? Religion test? Freedom from warrantless search and seizure test? The test is the campaign, now if the citizenry fails to ask the correct questions and demand answers, the citizenry itself has failed the test.
@@renzowessels505 funny, Japan thought that before Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Totally useless, why train in such a scenario, leading to a blunted response to the bombings.
@@dgrano20 Could you explain your thoughtways please. I don't think it's childish to say that its not very helpfull for every country besides the US to run a US based simulation. bruh, almost anyone would react in a similar way, just like the trolly problem, when you put someone under enough stress you cant assume logical reasoning
That was unbelievably intense. Even knowing you are in a simulation, the overwhelming magnitude of your decision in that moment is almost impossible for any one person to bear, so all thoughts of this "this is just hypothetical" seemed to just disappear. And all the credit for it seeming so real is due to the actors who ran it. They really were incredible! I just hope that the world continues to see, through stuff like this, that there is no winning, for anyone, in nuclear conflicts. Amazing video, Michelle!!!!
You know what stuck with me? The moment she pushed the button and after that I felt a feeling of emptiness. OK I gave the order now what? She asked said: "Thats it??".
Fun Fact Michelle: There is a video called "Coldline" and it is similar to the simulation that you did in this video, the game takes place in the height of the Cold War and a Nuclear Missile is heading towards New York City and you are the Chairman of the USSR and you are tasked with stopping the nuclear warhead from reaching New York, and stopping Nuclear Armageddon, and you have a red phone and have to try to contact the President to intercept the Missile. Note: This is not sponsored this is just something I just wanted to Bring up.
I have 3 things to add: 1) Kobayashi Maru 2) “In the nuclear age, war itself is the enemy.” (Denzel Washington in Crimson Tide) 3) “What a curious game. The only way to win seems to be to not play.” (WarGames) As soon as the naval assets were hit, there was no going back as this was confirmation of an attack.
Worse, hitting naval assets, which are conventional, as our surface fleet are all conventionally armed now, also speaks to their strategy to eliminate our military capabilities. So, it defaults to large response to eliminate their military capabilities.
That was my largest decision point, as at that point, they were engaging our conventional forces and population centers. Large, to neutralize their military capabilities. Meanwhile, our nuclear armed allies would automatically launch on warning of the attack upon us, per their treaty obligations. Why do you think Putin hates NATO so much?
Great actors! And it emphasises why this must be trained in advance. If that scenario was real, then this decision is too important to waste ANY second on "this all feels wrong" or "I'm overwhelmed". Also... what about a blackmail option as in "Fire enough to annihilate that entire country. We will stop our missiles if they stop theirs"
Growing up in the Cold War, having read A LOT of Tom Clancy, and having watched Wargames multiple times, this is something right up my alley. And yeah, tensions were high in 1962 (Cuba), but the introduction of BMEWS in 1961, created a close call and I believe the Russians had a close call as well.
The very fact that we are on the cusp of this type of situation is bone chilling . I am so proud of Michelle, showing us some of what the government does a lot of this kind of stuff is hidden a civilians and I feel like we have the right to know so kudos to her for bringing some of the stuff to light!!!
I grew up at a Manhattan Project nuclear site. It created plutonium for the Trinity test and the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. Watching this took me straight back to my childhood. We knew we were a target, we wore dog tags as kids, no duck and cover drills at our schools. We knew we were going to die. Every large building in our town was a fallout shelter. As kids, 5-6 years old, we knew where they all were and how many minutes it would take to get there. Ty for doing this video. I think the younger generation doesn’t see the impossible choices and consequences faced by a president. Being a 3rd generation nuclear worker made me proud bc I felt like I was helping to fight communism and keeping Americans safe. I feel like I did the right thing at the time. Ty Michelle!❤❤❤
Curious thing there is someone from the other side of the world who thinks exactly the same but change communist for americans, and both believe be the good guy
It's amazing (awful, but amazing) to hear that perspective. I've always had a weird concern for nuclear warfare even though I've never experienced the fallout (not a pun, I just can't think of a better term) of the warfare itself. Living along a coastline, I've often thought about what we would do and we don't know because it's not thought of much. It's hard to imagine that your understanding of where/how long to to to the bunks was, is equivalent to an arcade in the '00s or a club nowadays. @@darriendove8380 If nothing else, this episode needs to be submitted to an Emmy category, like "Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama Or Variety Series." That a RUclips series hired legitimate actors, that they didn't break character, that they knew what to reply from their role's point of view, all the while dealing with someone stressing out about the ethics, not just playing it like a video game as many would do, that's really, really, really uncommon. It's playing out in real time, too, on a platform where either you shoot a ton and cut a ton, or you just post something overly long. This is the perfect length for the scenario presented.

If it hasn't been mentioned already, there is a movie called "Fail Safe" originally from 1964 although a live remake was done in 2000 with George Clooney. Not to give too much spoilers for those who hasn't seen the movie, this simulation reminded me strongly of that movie. One minor disagreement that I have with the video is that there was the "Able Archer 83" incident in which also led the world very close to a nuclear confrontation.

@taoist32 Let me just say this, who had wars continue throughout their term? Who resolved and prevented wars during their term? Who had better strategies and got things done as far as military and protecting those in our country?

I love these "challenge accepted" videos. Always garanteed quality entertainment. I know it´s easy to sit behind the screen and post a comment. But I think I would choose the large scale nuclear answer as well.
That was absolutely incredible Michelle. Thank you for presenting this. It reaffirms that the only way to win, is a mutual interest in scaling back nuclear arsenals of the world. That is the only sure-fire answer to peace. Well done.
The scenario is really simplified and in regards to actual nuclear strategy and response options. Their "small scale" is actually known as counter-value strikes (cities, infrastructure, industry) and their "large scale" is actually called counter-force (strictly military, with emphasis on nuclear assets.) They are not mutually exclusive in reality. Pre-set response plans called SIOPs exist for a spectrum of mixing the two and it is also an option to go counter-force first and escalate (or retaliate) using gradual or full send counter value, after seeing what the enemy targeting was. There's also the strategy of which weapons to employ and when - for example you likely lose 90% of your silo based missiles when the timer hits zero so they are use it or lose it, before the incoming strike impacts. But your submarines can be held for a second strike. My response would be: 1. All bombers scramble instantly upon warning. 1 second into the scenario, i want my bombers loaded and safely up off the ground ASAP. They can always be recalled. 2. Immediate counter force launch with all ground based missiles the instant it is confirmed the Navy was struck. That's the absolutely sure act of war line. Arguably the EMP could be, but the advisors did not seem to have 100% confidence that was enemy action. Bombers released to proceed to targets. 3. Absorb the incoming strike, see what was hit. And respond accordingly... - If the enemy only targeted military assets, order bombers to strike surviving enemy military assets and if no more viable strategic targets, re task for tactical strikes on any enemy mobile forces (fleets or armies.) Stand down submarines, go deep and quiet. These are my reserve deterrence against further enemy nuclear strikes, or escalation to counter value targeting our cities and long term, deterrence against OUTSIDE interference while the country is down and rebuilding. Conventional forces. Finish the fight with conventional forces. - If the enemy strike was counter value aimed and our cities are gone, order bombers and submarines to launch a full counter value retaliation and annihilate the enemy economic potential. Including its draft and labor pool. Hold at least two loaded subs in reserve for aforementioned outside deterrence. Conventional forces disperse and withdraw home. Nothing left to conquer and we need the organized forces for homeland disaster relief.
This is the correct response. The average Canadian and American citizen do not have the knowledge of US or NATO military forces or Stratcom SIOP options. As a layman, I have studied over the years US and Russian military and strategic nuclear forces C3 systems and assets by reading open-source research/books and intelligence. This nuclear war scenario which takes place over 10 minutes would be incredibly stressful and emotional. Even i would have trouble navigating this scenario. However, given this situation once a launch is detected and you know that 2-300 nuclear warheads are incoming you are looking at a "LOW" launch on Warning situation like what was seen in the 1983 movie "The Day After " That means: 1) Ensuring the survival of the nuclear TRIAD by: A) Informing Stratcom to scramble the B52, B2 and modified B1B bombers to scramble immediately to fail safe points and or alternate airfields in the first second. 2) Send orders to Deployed USN Subs to target enemy military facilities via TACMO planes. 3) Immediately deploy remaining Trident Subs from US bases to pre assigned locations. 4) Launch your 44 ABM missiles plusUS Army Air defence artillery THAAD and tell US Navy Pacific Command to send orders to the guided missile cruisers and destroyers to launch the SA-6 ABM hypersonic missiles to stop enemy warheads. 5) Disperse all Continental US military forces 5) Activate the nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) 6) Activate the Civil Defense System. 7) launch Minuteman III missiles with 8 MIRV containing W-88 300-400 kt thermonuclear warheads for a massive EMP strike. I would launch 25-50 missiles immediately. 8) Evaluate the conventional or significant Nuclear Strike option. 9) However, once the US missile early warning system confirms EMP detonation at the 200-300 miles above the US. Then 10) You enact the Significant Nuclear Strike option which will kill 100-140 million people and cripple their secondary strike capabilities. This should take 2 out the 10 minutes. The President can leave the Situation Room for Andrew's AFB for Air Force 1 at this point. When the ambassador called you inform him of what we know and that the US of America has responded in order to determine future aggressions. When the Secretary of Defence informs the President that the US Navy has been attacked then you order your conventional forces to attack the enemy. At this point in the 6.22 time index, there is nothing to do but leave for Andrews AFB for Air Force 1 to leave Washington for safety. My last point is I had to read your response and I had to think of mine. However, one point that was missing in the scenario ( and something I did not think about) is that nuclear missiles after their boost stage 10 min out from impact can't be recalled. That means YOU DONT HAVE TIME to delay your response and its too late to negotiate with the enemy. If the scenario took place over 1 hour the response and options would be different and far more realistic.. You have to ensure the survival of the country and military forces. Its difficult to make the decision to kill 140 million of the enemy citizens, but the President of the US of America has the responsibility to make these decisions using logic, critical thinking, an understanding of you military forces and deployment and emotional consequences
Part II- In my comments I think that when the Ambassador of Veloria call at 4:12 to speak to the President it was a delay tactic. Negotiations at this point was impossible. My last point is that when the US Navy is attacked in the Pacific at 2:28 the "Launch On Warning " option effectiveness is seriously diminished so the actress took too long to make a decision to enact the significant nuclear strike option.
In both scenarios you give (very good ones) there was never a call to NATO or the 5 👁️ s. Y? Confirmation NATO nations can confirm by sight what we think we see with technology. As well as Valorieas allies knowledge of or rationale participation in the attack. The U.S. under the continuity of gov could still have tens of millions alive to start over. Some times the moral choice for the planet 🌎 is to absorb the attack.
your third point is the most stupid thing i have seen all day, without silos and harbors you aint gonna be able to get an actual response out, bombers get shot down

Dear Michelle, with all due respect, A large-scale nuclear attack on an opposing country's military could be seen as strategically beneficial for those seeking to swiftly cripple the enemy's defense capabilities, potentially leading to a faster end to conflict. By targeting military assets, the aggressor might aim to prevent prolonged warfare, which could otherwise result in even greater loss of life over time. Despite the tragic loss of lives, such an attack could be argued as a means to achieve a decisive victory, thereby minimizing future casualties and establishing long-term security. Even though it seems inhumane, the OTHER country has done so already, meaning THERE IS NO RIGHT OPTION ANYMORE. All in all- by wasting time, you just constrained yourself to the remaining time you had, as you had mentioned before it felt like you were backing yourself into a corner.😮💨 Your choice was a phenomenal decision, in my eyes, THE BEST DECISION. Keep posting content, its amazing, to come back and see your videos. P.S. Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov is a true hero ❤ Most of us would not be born if he said Y . E . S.
I understand your reasoning, and I think thats why Michelle decided to go with that option aswell. But you go and say that "Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov is a true hero", when he, in the exact same situation in his eyes as Michelle was given at the start, decided NOT to fight back, not to target civil nor military assets. In your eyes, by your reasoning, in Vasili's shoes, you would've caused most of us to "not had been born", ever; because you would've said Y. E. S. It's not my intention to confront you in any way, just thought it was an interesting dilemma, which highlights the point of the video. NO, full force response was not the best decision; not in Vasili's shoes. Thats why he is a true hero.
Besides, all your doing with a small-scale countervalue attack is nuking 10s of millions of innocent civilians to make a statement without even eliminating the threat. Perversely, eliminated military assets with counterstrike nukes, risking 100s of millions of civilians being collateral damage, becomes the least worse option. It's all truly MAD.
Not just that but in this sim they already launched missles and 50 million or something are gonna die anyway shit send missles back and destroy them lol war over
Don’t read if you don’t want a spoiler to the end of Enders Game. Good movie better book Kind of Reminds me of Enders Game. At the end the only option was to sacrifice everything/everyone and kill the queen to stop the threat
clearly not because that's the option everyone chooses. Targeting population centers is a non-starter for most and once the conventional response is taken off the table, there's simply no other choice.
I'm shaking to make a decision, and this is through a third pov. Imagine you are in the situation room facing information from multiple angles, to determine which is reliable and which is not, to listen to opinions not only from your allies but also from the enemy in question. No decision will be the right decision here. We can only look back, after all is over and we have the luxury to do so, and judge whether that was a "good" choice or not.
If it makes you feel better then this is likely not all that realistic. Most of the questions she asked during this was information that the president would be expected to know beforehand and know in more detail. For example the president would know the response options and probably already has responses planned out for the most likely scenarios. I wouldn’t look into this too deeply, I would see this as good to get you thinking but not as all that realistic.
@@conorstewart2214 I agree with you. The president would already be aware of the response choices available for a particular adversary launching against us like that. It would be more a matter of conforming the threat is real and responding in a manner as already discussed in prior scenario-based discussions.

They might be able to make their own diy version but maybe not this specific version. But again I don’t know.

Did you live under ronny Raygum? You would have run this possibility through your brain for 8 years. That MFer was the beginning of the end of our republic.
I not only grew up during the Cold War but also served. It was a very real time in America. Michelle showed how it could have been like to make a decision like that, and yes it would be very emotional also. We need to stop taking our freedom for granted, because it could be over as we know it, by nuclear or people.
Most likely our freedom won't be taken away by a foreign country, let alone by a full-blown nuclear war, but rather by our OWN government if we, "the people", don't continue to keep it in check, REGARDLESS of the party that's in power...
I have my degree in emeremergency management. We would do the "zombie scenario". Basically zombies have taken over X state and we need to contain it and control it. The instructor would change the scenario so its flowing and different. Sometimes it just ended up with a mass evacuation order telling people be out by X time or else. Then the origin city would basically be bombed to hell, and any other state or city that that had a massive zombie population. After that we'd send in military to do a "clean up" job.
Isn't telling people to stay within closed doors far more safer? I mean if they are zombified, they're behind locked doors, and if the zombies attacks, the civilians are hidden behind locked doors.
@yogammaka That's where. They problem comes in. The instructor would tell us the last know living population, then we'd have to weigh if losing civilians was worth it.
@@thedinkster2163 Which in a situation with zombies, who can multiply in numbers exponentially... It's better to glass the area they inhabit, even though there might be civilians. Zombies are a thing that could take over the world if given the chance. Think Cov19, but way worse, lol. I know your comment is from 2 weeks ago, but this was just my thoughts on the topic. Its also kind of interesting how rabies might have been an inspiration for the zombie trope, since people become hydrophobic and essentially just want to spread the disease/infection as much as possible before they unalive.
@@yogammaka I'd say zombies are overrated for military. In seige warfare, the armies that comes in thousands has heard to massacre entire cities which comes in hundreds of thousands in strength. That's with spears. An organised army is practically a meat shredder. With guns, zombies really won't have a chance if armies systematically cleaned building by building. That's without considering drone capability, aerial capability and armored vehicles like tanks, snipers.
If you haven't ordered the retaliation strike at least 5 minutes before the first wave strikes, you've waited too long. It isn't like the cold war anymore where we have bombers on alert standing by with live nuclear warheads and it takes a few minutes for a land-based launch control facility to go through the protocols to activate an ICBM launch.
it takes seconds to launch from ICBM silos mate, and scrambling bombers would lead to bombers being in the air just as the strike happened with an instant response (not all but some bombers at least)

Marine bootcamp is NOT an original concept. It has been done many times, and it'll keep being done. They aren't copycats, they're merely using a known formula, just like Michelle.
@@TVwithAli She's the most entertaining because she manufactures drama & situations to fit the heroe's journey. A lot of it is real, but a lot of it is also fake. I like her videos when they aren't so fake that it completely takes me out. Her "I Tried Treasure Hunting" video is one such example: there was no way to suspend disbelief on that one. To be fair, that's the youtube formula, it's what she's supposed to do, and videos can get boring if you limit yourself to what's actually happening organically. I just don't want to notice it too much :p And well, her production value is top-notch.
I don't care what any other RUclipsr does. Michelle is without a doubt RUclipss dare devil. She is the first and, in my eyes the only one that does videos like this. I have been watching Michelle for a few years now and she does these videos justice. One, she is female, and most females wouldn't think of doing such videos. The only thing I would've said to the Ambassador is "We have detected numerous nuclear launches and we are preparing a response. Unless you can provide me immediate proof that no such launches have taken place, we have nothing to discuss." Personally, I would have begun mobilizing all armed forces, told civilians to seek immediate shelter, ready all reserve units, and immediately begin preparing for Option 2 (Large Nuclear Strike). You can't finesse a nuclear exchange, once one of them goes, they ALL go. That's WHY no one wants to use them, that's WHY we still have them.
@@brainthesizeofplanet It’s also why there’s direct lines of communication to the Russian Head of State for this exact reason. No arguing with an ambassador, get Putin on the damn phone 😂😂
Counterpoint - Stanislav Petrov. Of course this incident may not be directly comparable and you should be able to trust that your detection systems are not faulty especially during times of increased tension, it still cannot be discounted. In such a situation, it would be difficult for a foreign country to convincingly prove they have not launched their missiles within a few minutes (do you expect them to livestream views of their missile silos??) and even less likely that any explanation would convince you that it's just a "false alarm". Do suggest a way to convincingly and instantly prove that missiles have not been fired and I will be more inclined to accept your logic.

Even Russia and china today don’t want to kill everyone they just want to take out the power (millitary and government) of the USA and other NATO members.
As a military officer I can say that these simulations are way more stressful than they seem. When you're in the role, you actually have limited time to make decisions while pondering every potential consequence. It's difficult, but you do learn a lot. Great video.
So, what do you think will be the response of this current administration if Russia and/or China sends nuclear weapons to both East and west coasts?
The terrifying part of this simulation was the fact the president didn't already know the options on the table.

@@Zreknarf With any of the geriatrics that serve these days, probably right.

1) Kobayashi Maru
2) “In the nuclear age, war itself is the enemy.” (Denzel Washington in Crimson Tide)
3) “What a curious game. The only way to win seems to be to not play.” (WarGames)
As soon as the naval assets were hit, there was no going back as this was confirmation of an attack.
Worse, hitting naval assets, which are conventional, as our surface fleet are all conventionally armed now, also speaks to their strategy to eliminate our military capabilities. So, it defaults to large response to eliminate their military capabilities.
In the nuclear world. the true enemy is war itself.
At least get the quote right.

My response would be:
However, given this situation once a launch is detected and you know that 2-300 nuclear warheads are incoming you are looking at a "LOW" launch on Warning situation like what was seen in the 1983 movie "The Day After "
That means:
1) Ensuring the survival of the nuclear TRIAD by:
A) Informing Stratcom to scramble the B52, B2 and modified B1B bombers to scramble immediately to fail safe points and or alternate airfields in the first second.
5) Disperse all Continental US military forces
5) Activate the nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS)
6) Activate the Civil Defense System.
Then
10) You enact the Significant Nuclear Strike option which will kill 100-140 million people and cripple their secondary strike capabilities.
Part II- In my comme
Some times the moral choice for the planet 🌎 is to absorb the attack.
your third point is the most stupid thing i have seen all day, without silos and harbors you aint gonna be able to get an actual response out, bombers get shot down
Man I truely love your videos and how you highlight the things a majority of us wouldn’t even have a chance to experience or even think about. @@lamsmiley1944 it is but by taking too long to make a decision can lead to more of their people dying. When they do something is perhaps more important than what they do.
There is a big difference between weighing up the consequences of your actions and being indecisive or having a breakdown. Morals. Even in a while presidential scale, morals are still to be upheld as much as possible.
Dear Michelle, with all due respect,
A large-scale nuclear attack on an opposing country's military could be seen as strategically beneficial for those seeking to swiftly cripple the enemy's defense capabilities, potentially leading to a faster end to conflict.
All in all- by wasting time, you just constrained yourself to the remaining time you had, as you had mentioned before it felt like you were backing yourself into a corner.😮💨

While I watched this video I felt an irresistible urge to crouch below a school desk and cover my head with my school bag. Fun times.
@@RamBdehow would they then exterminate said zombies without risk of hurting civilians?
@yogammaka That's where. They problem comes in. The instructor would tell us the last know living population, then we'd have to weigh if losing civilians was worth it.

Even in Civ when I launch a nukes I stop and think about the ramifications of it as if its real life

Exactly, at 1 minute, I was like "too late now "
it takes seconds to launch from ICBM silos mate, and scrambling bombers would lead to bombers being in the air just as the strike happened with an instant response (not all but some bombers at least)

Personally, I would have begun mobilizing all armed forces, told civilians to seek immediate shelter, ready all reserve units, and immediately begin preparing for Option 2 (Large Nuclear Strike). You can't finesse a nuclear exchange, once one of them goes, they ALL go. That's WHY no one wants to use them, that's WHY we still have them.
