37:44 true that. I´m latino, soy Ecuatoriano, and I miss a lot of the nuances because Bad Bunny´s lyrics are written in Puerto Rican spanish. The same happen when I listen to Argentinian music written in Argentinian spanish, for instance. But I like to learn the slang and grasp the nuances. I like to expand my understanding. I love Benito's new record, can´t stop listening to it.

Very disappointed with the singing in English question. I didn’t know the whole world spoke English. What a stupid and disrespectful question. They wouldn’t ask that to an Anglo speaker. You wanna understand what he is saying? Translate is right there. Latin people don’t have to sing in English. We have our culture and our people. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Not everything is made for the for the Anglo world. And if they feel left out that’s not our business lmao.

I know benito doesnt like to speak english unless its in private but i appreciate that hes trying to translate the emotion from spanish to english. Being puerto rican born in the states, I also find it difficult to translate feeling/emotion into spanish. But even just hearing him and watching him, you can feel it.

My dad grew up really poor in PR he left at the age of 18 but his heart belonged to his Island, he use to take me in the summer time to his beautiful island. He passed away wanting to go back home but I couldn’t do this for him and I have to live with this all my life.

I don't speak Spanish, I've been trying to learn for a while now but it's really hard for me lol. Even still, just knowing the translation and meaning behind some of the songs and the sound of them, it makes me think of family and community. I'm sure his album hits even more for native and fluent speakers. I cried thinking about my Grandma, who passed when I was only 7 or 8, yet had such an impact on me as a person. She would sit and show me her photo albums of her when she was young, my Dad and Aunt, baby pictures of my cousins and I, and photos from all her travels throughout the world. I love how Bad Bunny mentioned how photos used to be a thing that was really sacred and special, because those moments with my Grandma were truly sacred to me and always will be. I also love the pride that he has for his country and Puerto Rican culture -- this is of course not something that I can resonate with in the same way, but it articulates an idea that I was trying to write up in a poem a while back ... that no matter where I go, where I am from is always with me. You can move across the world, to a place with a different culture and way of life, but where you are from is always a part of who you are and can never be replaced 💗.
