Use Bluetooth Controllers with your GameCube (No Soldering!)
Where do you get the case 3D files
They’re list at the bottom of the bit built forum post bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/ashida-wii-portable.4529/
My aliexpress one fits like a glove with no issues whatsoever-$70 plus shipping? Got me f@&kd up homie.
5:46 You don't actually have to remove the Jumper Pack if you are opening up the console, you can actually just leave it in there. Just lift the N64 top-shell carefully off, and the Jumper Pack will slide out of the console just like a game cartridge would. This is especially useful for those who would like to preserve the the red sticker that says *Do not remove* on it.
Thanks!
Thank you so so much for this! I don't think I could get it done without it. I have everything ready to build one, I do have a few questions, for the 3D printed extras (such as screen mount etc, not the resin front and back shell) what material should I select on the PCBWay website? Additionally what files should I send over to PCBWay, there are so many to choose from for the front and back alone on the original BitBuild post, it is rather confusing. I would think: Front and Back full resolution STL for the body and the 4 files located in the Mounts > STL folder? Leaving out the Buttons files since I would be using original controllers?
I picked up the ezcoo on Amazon (11/17/24) and so far it isn't working as I intend to use it. I wanted to use it to bypass the PS3's HDCP for use with an elgato HD60 S. No matter what configuration I try, I cannot get the ezcoo to send a video signal through the HD60 S. OBS shows a blank screen and elgato's Game Capture HD software says "No Signal." I tried hooking my original Xbox and even Xbox 360 into the ezcoo, as those don't have HDCP restrictions, and the result is the same. I have tried plugging the consoles into the input on the ezcoo and then having one output go to my TV and the other plugged into the HD60 S which is plugged into my PC. I have also tried running the consoles through the HD60 S and plugging that into the ezcoo's HDMI input, but the result is the same. I get no video output through the elgato. I even have a HDMI switch that I have tried in the mix. I plugged the PS3 into the ezcoo with one of it's outputs going to my TV and the other going into my HDMI switch which has the HD60 S plugged into that. And I still get "No Signal" in Game Capture HD. The only way I have gotten video out of both the ezcoo's ouputs to test both outputs work is by plugging my original Xbox into the ezcoo and then each output into inputs on my TV. Switching between TV inputs, I'm able to confirm both ezcoo HMDI output ports work. So the ezcoo apparently does not work with the HD60 S. I am going to try the other adapter you recommended and see how it goes.
I’m buying a top loader, I just have to find a 3D printer. Retro rgb is amazing. This is now the best way to play nes.
I've sent over 20 N64's back into the wild and this shell is extremely accurate. All of the flaws that your pointed out are also on a OEM shell, specifically the early RGB (005?) versions. Having these flaws included shows that this really is a 1:1 replacement and not a rendered copy. Nice video! If you invest in a metric tap kit and a pin vice you can tap the plastic before you insert the screws which lowers the chance of splitting.
Thanks for the tip!
New Dubes video (that isn't an unedited live stream vod) lets f'ing go!
Looks awesome! Personally I like the two tone transparent green shell. I’d love to get one since I have a couple of the Retro Fighter controllers in that color!
Too late for me. Already have a MiSTer and ordered the analogue 3d in white. Nevertheless nice shell colors. ☮️
So you just bought a Purple N64? Why not buy a used one that doesn't work and swap shells?
Since China is producing the typical translucent colors, I figured I'd back the NES and Orange Spice flavors. I got mine last week; bought a N64 and Retro GEM to install in the NES shell.
Glad a replacement console shell actually managed to get shipped. Had to cancel my Char GameCube shell because Muramasa kept running into production issues since 2022. Some of these people are way too comfortable with using renders instead of physical prototypes to prove that they are competent.
Welcome back Dubes! Great Video man!
Awesome video! I got so excited when I saw you posted a new one! But then I had a mini panic attack like, 'WAIT, HOW MANY DID I MISS?!' 😂 Since the goodbye videos and hello streaming, I’m glad I didn’t fall too far behind. Keep up the great work-I’m loving the content!
Hey man, thanks for watching and commenting! It’s been awhile but I decided I wanted to make videos again
Do not use a power tool to screw shell on any console
I’m guessing there’s a reason he needed the extra power in this case: the plastic screw holes likely did not have threads cut into them yet, so it has to be done when putting the screws in for the first time. A used console with screws already in it would not have that problem. As long as you aren’t using an impact driver and you keep the drill on low power, it is easy to move slow enough to prevent damage to the plastic.
Great video! What’s would be the main difference between these and the ones you have on AliExpress for half the price?
We’re going to find out, I have one of them and want to do a quick follow up video
@dubesinhower amazing, thank you for documenting that
I've done a few shell swaps and if I can add one tip. Before putting the the gamebit screws in on the new shell, it helps to bevel the screw hole of feet. It doesn't take much but it helps alot! I just use a phillips head screwdriver and rotate it a few time in the hole (without the gamebit screw in it). This makes getting it started a whole lot easier!
I LOVE the NES themed shell with the Ultra64 badge. Going to have to snag one for my N64 restomod project.
That would be a sick build with the new Everdrives, or at least the newer ones, I just recently saw nes emulation on 64 is near perfect.
@@spitt0110 I actually have an NES I did a restomod on with a NESessity 1.4 and (one of the last it would seem) HI-DEF NES kits and a couple 2.2GHz 8BitDo controllers. I wanted to do an SNES for my next project, but since HDMI kits still seem to be a long ways out for those, I figured I'd move on to my old N64 I got for Christmas 28 years ago LOL I love the EverDrive too. Have yet to order one for my NES but I plan to, along with one for my N64 when I get it all done up.
I'd love to get two but the shop the link is to says it will be closed until 2025. The github does have the BOM to order your own parts so maybe someone out there is selling these as well? Anyone know where I can get these?
It's interesting to see RazrEdge68 mention the VSELECT boot-time voltage spike fix in the chat replay. I spent a bit of time playing around with the hardware and firmware to fix it, I think about 2 hours. No one really commented on the post talking about the fix though, so I was actually assuming no one cared. Seeing that comment makes me wonder if some of the other changes I've made are actually more popular than I think they are. I imagine that's partly due to some people not having a GitHub account, but there is a Discord server and I think most people do have a Discord account these days. I don't necessarily need the affirmation but knowing what people like/look forward to could help me prioritize things better.
Might do this to my knock off GC controllers, definitely not doing it to OEM/ wavebirds.
i have a idea what abouit build a pcb bord to atch the wires too this way you can have a cleaner removeable bord and if you need remove some thing that falty it be less issue and if a part fail it can be replaced FASTER
Ypu only showed how to put on the cpu and such but how do I get the rest of the fuses capacitors regulators and such to populate the rest of the board
you should of got the one that does dual imput my friend got two of those for the aver media he did i am tempting upgrade my elgato hd 60 pro mk2 too the same card you got
I cant get mine to connect my ps5 controller anymore. I bought mine after they came out and stopped using my gamecube until this month.
Would you be able to do an in depth testing of the stick for the controller as well? I’ve noticed the range definitely is different even on the newest firmware but im not exactly sure to what extent that effects things
This was fun! do you mind if I use a clip of this stream in my upcoming video about the HIDman? Also send me that HID dump lol :)
Oops, sorry! Sure, no worries, use what you need!
I performed the mod perfectly but the console did not turn on again. I can't understand what could have happened.
This is great, I have a broken oem controller (start button doesn’t work) that I’m gonna turn into a bt controller now
Is there a way to switch between button maps? Just installed and tried playing on Melee and B is jump, there is no power shield, and a bunch of other differences.
I got a NES RGB mod v.4, which has this as an option built in. The instructions for it didn't really help me, though, so I found myself here. You're instructions were easier to follow for sure, but now my controller 1 isn't working. I'm positive I did something wrong in the wiring, but visibly everything looks good. Any tips on troubleshooting this? No worries if not, I appreciate your video a lot and I'll keep messing with it. Thanks for all you do!
the bom doesn't work with pcbway..
the SD2SP2 PRO 2.0 is out of stock is he gonna be getting more anytime soon?
That true gamer part about Perfect Dark and Goldeneye is true.
The GGHD I bought worked fine, it had its issues ironically on the case and wish it was designed better but there will be no other updates as our friend passed away last year
Sorry I missed the stream, funny enough I've been looking at doing the LCD mod to my GG and you happen to do a stream of doing that.
@42:36 and now we have it :)
Nice one Dubes!
New Nintendo switch wireless n64 controller would be ideal
great job Dubes!
i missed it;-;
NOOO
Hello, Can you tell us when and where we can get this. It's good to know about this but it's a lot better for us to know when this is out for sale....cause then people will stop thinking about this
I wasn't feeling so comfortable with installing this mod... You changed my mind 🙏🏽😅
You should make another video adding in the flippy drive
