Thanks for the shout out!! For those curious, I feel the Full Bridge Rectifier was under performing and at only being rated for 2 amps, it was getting hot even under normal use. I have upgraded that to a 5 amp Rectifier and I might even break it into individual diodes to get even more headroom. I also have added a fuse and some other quality of life improvements. They will be released under Version 2.1

I actually got that same power board for my NES after my old one had it's pads easily lifted when I was replacing caps. Pretty good and got my NES working again.
Merlin even gave me a free OpenTendo board with it which was very cool of him to do.

There were a ton of third party wireless XBOX controllers back in the day. It isn’t a “hack” to use a dongle since, as you mentioned, the console had no wireless built in… proprietary or otherwise. Every controller has to plug into the controller ports whether wired or wireless. Also, the controller ports are just USB ports so it’s relatively easy to make a wireless USB controller that spoofs the IDs of an original XBOX controller.

Ya, Logitech made the more popular wireless controller. I'm sure Mad Catz had their own. There's nothing special about a wireless Xbox controller, other than it having Hall Effect sensors and being brand new.

@@37Kilo2 Yeah. I saw wireless Mad Catz controllers for the original XBOX at the flea market last weekend and I can’t even found how many of the orphan controllers or wireless dongles I’ve accumulated over the years. I’m always seeing those dongles with two big memory card slots at Goodwill and other places.
It’s the XBOX 360 that had issues with third party wireless controllers being unable to interface with the console’s native wireless but that was eventually resolved.
As I recall, Guitar Hero III for XBOX 360 was bundled with a corded guitar Xplorer or Les Paul though the Les Paul sold separately for XBOX 360 was wireless. This was due to licensing costs for natively interfacing with Microsoft’s proprietary wireless controller tech.
Eventually everything went back to dongles so that they could sell the same instruments for various consoles.

I think he's confusing all the wired 3rd party controllers on Xbox One (due to proprietary issues) with the original Xbox.

He seems to have mixed up the Xbox One and Xbox 1, can't really blame him for that. The Xbox One and Series consoles have a proprietary wireless setup which Microsoft refuses to license to anyone, so everything for modern Xbox consoles has been wired. I guess that is a little better than Sony though, who isn't licensing any regular controllers for the PS5. They only started licensing expensive "Pro" controllers a few months ago.

It's nice to see the dongle for the Xbox controller, I couldn't find an image of it on their website. It hits the aesthetics but at this point I want headset support for Insignia.

Is there any news on the wifi ability from the removal of serial port on PS1digital I heard this was seriously considered. I'd love to see a wireless LAN party on PS1 quake 2 using the dual analog controller patch.

I wonder if the Tang Nano 20K could be connected to a 65816 to lighten it's "load" for SNES simulation/replication.... I know the 65816 has a 6502 mode so I'm sure someone could get it to work for the NES part anyways....

I have a wired Brawler 64, and the plastics feel cheap. I backed the Defender, and the plastics feel high quality, but the dpad is TERRIBLE!

I wouldn't really say the gamecom was rare, it's more nobody wanted it because it was horrible. And I would hardly call the marketing good, if anything the marketing was infamous for how it basically would insult it's own customers and just be loud rapid-fire jump cuts. Pretty much anyone who grew up in the US in that era knows about that waste of plastic.
