I think the only reason they keep saying they are working on something new, is because when the rumours of them releasing their first party on other platforms came out, the talk shifted to speculations of them leaving hardware completely and going third party, with some high profile Xbox insiders making that claim, so they keep having to reassure everyone that it was not the case and they still plan on releasing hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if they've not changed the internals much, it could be the Series X Digital is like the One S AD, where it was just a One S, with a blank space where the Disk drive should be. It’s too late in the game for a digital version and with 1tb and a $50 price cut? What? I think a $50 increase in price and 4tb inside? Sold. But this? Come on!
So basically it comes down to the fact everything is going to be digital and on game pass. So to me it’s a choice of paying 450 for the X to get 4k gaming or 350 for the S and getting an upscaled 4k instead of native support.
@@Feadds I looked into it a bit more and what I found is that ultimately the graphics/ stability/ fps comes down to each individual game and how well they’re optimized for the hardware. Also another big factor is the device you use them on.
I was probably going to get a 2nd Series X. So I think I'll be getting the 2TB version. And I have a 1TB Card to make it 3TB. And I want the disc drive still.
Let me save you 5 minutes - "The NEW Xbox Series X is here but not really because this is a dummy model and we don't really know anything except there's no disc drive."
For me, ya. I wouldn’t buy a console without a disk drive. If the next Xbox doesn’t have one at all, I won’t be buying it and I’ll probably just slowly stop gaming at this point.
I just bought the S because I have digital only. However, that POS system is going back tomorrow. Started overheating and shutting itself off. No fan running. I’m done with Microsoft.
I like having the disc models because I have some older games and sometimes like buying a physical copy of a game. I also like being able to use it for my movies as well.
@Woke_Imperialist6066 1TB isn’t that much in terms of console storage. The OS alone can take up upwards of 200GB of space, lots of recent AAA games are over 100GB and the next CoD game will be 300GB.
It is if you don't own any previous-gen XBOX games (and don't intend to), and you don't like housing discs and cluttering-up your home, it is worth it.
I got a ps5 digital because 90% of my ps4 games were digital so I don’t need a disk drive. I got the series X because I have physical Xbox 360 games that aren’t on game pass and I wanted to watch physical movies. Xbox is king
I agree. They need to get aggressive with their pricing. For instance, there's no way that even a 1 TB Series S should be priced above $300. I think they would fly off the shelves at $249. And the all-digital Series X should be $399 (which would be a great way to undercut Sony's unbelievably stupid price increase for the PS5 Digital Edition).
Amen which is why I still love my One X, pure no BS 4k games, or close. Small form factor, 4K player, all I need. Right next to my PS5. The One X was the first of it's kind too. Made the PS4 Pro look puny. :O)
I do not remember the last time I used the Blu-ray drive on my Xbox One X. I'd love the all-digital version any day. I'd spend the $50 on some games. Thank you very much.
@@lukebrowning4712 last i checked you can still buy a series x with a disc drive. it's not going away. physical media is, though. anyway instead of spending $500 on a console every few years, just build a PC instead that can play every game you could want it to

I think keeping the standard Series S around, is a good sign as to what Xbox would aim to replicate with a handheld. If it can run on S it runs on the handheld, would be a good move imo
I really don't feel 50 bucks is worth loosing backwards compatibility, and dvd/Blueray. I agree it's not bad to have the option for disk less drive. Honestly the price of the consoles need to drop. I built my current PC back in 2020 and at this point... Im just gonna upgrade my graphics card instead of buying a 4 year old Xbox. 😂 If the disk less was like 380 I'd buy it the second I could.

Consoles must reach a ceiling soon? How much more performance can we get, apart from FPS and Resolution I can’t see what else can be improved upon. I’ve been a gamer for 35 years. Have seen the massive jumps, but we are now literally playing a game that looks like a movie? Genuine question!
They focused on video games FIRST. Microsoft spent 68 billion to prove they are focusing on gaming. They didn't need to release a pro model when some of the biggest titles this year are coming onto their service for no extra cost. This showcase honestly made me pick one up.
Total waste of money, nothing new, something lost, and no value at all, especially on the 2TB model....the ship is sinking and instead of getting a lifeboat, they threw an anchor. The games will not be enough to save them. FAIL.
So from what I've seen, this Xbox showcase was mostly about software. Here at the next showcase adventure whatever it is they do they're going to be talking about a lot more about the new hardware
I picked up a second Xbox series x (got my other one at launch) this past Christmas (on December 17, 2023) for $349.00 at Walmart and it was way outside the Black Friday window. It was the Diablo IV bundle. It is ridiculous to think someone would pay those prices for these updated ones.
To comment about the disc drive . I have a Xbox series x for over 2 years now and iv only ever put a disk in once for a game and once for a dvd as i dont have a dvd player any more so a diskless xbox is a not a problem now days with netflix, amazon, disny ,bbc iPlayer and also game pass for games . I think having a white xbox series x is now a noce option too . The £600 price tag is very expensive though for the 2tb model though. Tbh ill just buy a 1tb expansion card for £120 or even the 2tb for £200 and will work out better for me .
The 2tb is good if it is your first xbox series x, but if you already have one no point getting one, you might as well get a 1tb memory card around £114. Plus, the white one with no disc drive your paying £50 less for empty space should be around 80 to £100...
I don't agree with the "next-gen soon" talk. I think that is so far way down the line, especially considering that this gen has had a delay unlike any other due to the pandemic and the development time of games these days wouldn't be chopping and changing on the hardware they're being built for unless it's very far in advance. 60%^ of past-gen console users have yet to jump to next-gen, a lot of it being because of rising costs of living but also because they haven't seen enough games from either console to warrant the price (with the PS5 practically being a PS4 upscale machine). I think Microsoft is going all in on the Series X/S as being the best value for their games with the added Game Pass component, and the expansion of options is evidence of that. Xbox needed to go through a lull phase to get games done. Now we're going into a period where they'll have titles to release periodically one after another. Add the Day 1 release factor of Game Pass and the Series X/S consoles will become very attractive in the next 1-3 years. The more options of the X/S is in preparation for this. Players will migrate to wherever the best value/abundance is. This gen is far from over.
I don't understand why the non disc drive Series X isn't 4TB by default, especially considering you can't use disc's, seems a bit silly to release a digital only console with 1TB inside.
$50 for the Digital Series X is just not worth it to me I already have a Series S. So I'm already switched over basically to Digital. If the Digital X gets down to $400 then maybe. But as of now not worth it at all.
I've always been a big supporter of the Series S as I feel it is priced correctly for what it is and it's a good entry point for casual gamers and people that simply want a game pass box. For the RRP the Series S is trying to hit, I feel not having a disc drive makes sense, but if you're already planning to spend $450 on a Series X, just spend the extra $50 and get the one with the disc drive. Games are almost always cheaper on physical media, so you'll end up saving way more than the $50 you initially saved on the console, and unlike the PS5 digital edition, there's no option to add a disc drive later on, so it's worth paying a little bit more up front and keeping your options open in the future.
i haven’t purchased a physical copy of any game since my day one edition xbox one, all digital is the way to go. most are worried about being banned and losing everything but honestly you shouldn’t have been doing what you did to get banned in the first place. having to install a physical copy was the biggest pain, the disk only acting like a license to launch the game still means you own nothing.
On one hand you if you want the best option but want to go for digital copies and save a bit of money the digital series X is probably the best option for some people (especially if you have a 2tb expansion card) if you want something for physical copy people and a expasion of the base storage to 2tb plus a disc drive and extra storage devices is the one for the majority of people. Whatever you chose they will be a good option especially when main title games like COD or Gears of war or a future halo will be helpful in the future go to game pass either day one or one year after they release
I'll definitely be trying to preorder the Xbox Series X 2TB Console. I would love to have that but if I can't get it, I'm still perfectly fine with my Original Series X🔥👍

So basically it comes down to the fact everything is going to be digital and on game pass. So to me it’s a choice of paying 450 for the X to get 4k gaming or 350 for the S and getting an upscaled 4k instead of native support.
I look @ it more of, Series X is for the hardcore gamers and the S is for those who just wanna game & don’t care about resolution | kids

I was probably going to get a 2nd Series X. So I think I'll be getting the 2TB version. And I have a 1TB Card to make it 3TB. And I want the disc drive still.
So no WiFi 6E on latest Xbox?

I will always buy the disc version of a console but all of my games are digital lol, I use the disc as my dvd player
Same I would rather have it and not use it then want it and not have it.
Series X disc drive plays 4k movies as well.
I thought the disc-less Series X would be... smaller.
Edit: Grammar.
I thought the same. Only thing I could think of was saving money on the die and leave a bunch of empty space?

I was legit excited for a controller upgrade but 2TB is just as good. Hopefully that will be standard across the gaming industry.
@Woke_Imperialist6066
1TB isn’t that much in terms of console storage. The OS alone can take up upwards of 200GB of space, lots of recent AAA games are over 100GB and the next CoD game will be 300GB.
@Woke_Imperialist6066 So you don’t see extra storage as an upgrade?
@Woke_Imperialist6066 I’ve had some time and thought about it, you were right.
Love seeing Austin go to a Xbox event wearing a Nintendo shirt 🤣
As somebody that has been with Xbox since 2012 or 2013, I'll say... no.
The new Xbox is probably not worth it.
sure it is

I have been with Xbox since 2001 and own all Consoles. I'm getting that XboxSX 2TB.

That doesn’t make sense the white Xbox series x should’ve been slim with out the disk drive .
The galaxy special edition is not worth it because you could just buy an ssd for 200 bucks unless you don't own a series x, then it's worth it
Ps5 pro will be more powerful for same price. Its likely to be a announced this september
I got a ps5 digital because 90% of my ps4 games were digital so I don’t need a disk drive.
I got the series X because I have physical Xbox 360 games that aren’t on game pass and I wanted to watch physical movies.
Xbox is king
Im glad Xbox is still showing some console love, but these things need a decent discount to move the needle away from Sony & Nintendo
8:23 Here's an austin and here's a matt that part had me dying laughing 😂
Fat joke
I remember when the xbox one was upgraded to the xbox one X and it felt like a true upgrade this is most certainly not a upgrade
Amen which is why I still love my One X, pure no BS 4k games, or close. Small form factor, 4K player, all I need. Right next to my PS5. The One X was the first of it's kind too. Made the PS4 Pro look puny. :O)

The SE is the Halo Edition without the Halo stickers with a 2TB. I have the Halo Edition and a 8TB external. So I'm good on it.
Definitely grabbing that 2TB galaxy series x, gonna sell my Carbon series S to my little cousin 😅
I think keeping the standard Series S around, is a good sign as to what Xbox would aim to replicate with a handheld. If it can run on S it runs on the handheld, would be a good move imo
I was hoping it would be slimmer. This is just as disappointing as the One S Slim Digital.
Good, we shouldn’t be wanting these anyway

I picked up a second Xbox series x (got my other one at launch) this past Christmas (on December 17, 2023) for $349.00 at Walmart and it was way outside the Black Friday window. It was the Diablo IV bundle. It is ridiculous to think someone would pay those prices for these updated ones.
Ok that’s an insane price and such an amazing value.
Cant waiy for the teardown of all the new xbox
The Walmart I work at has been selling the black 1Tb Series X with UHD drive for $450 since last black Friday!
I did actually want a All Digital version of the Series X but if I can go back and play older 360 games then might as well just buy the disc drive
the kirby fans appreciate the drip.
$600 for old games, no improvements, no disc drive, same memory......do not mention ps5pro again
I could care less about video game consoles, but love your channel, so yeah, gave you a like.
As an all digital device it should be made smaller and have more storage but i dont see a benefit of losing the disc drive
Does it have better thermals due to less obstructions inside?
I don't understand why the non disc drive Series X isn't 4TB by default, especially considering you can't use disc's, seems a bit silly to release a digital only console with 1TB inside.
$50 for the Digital Series X is just not worth it to me I already have a Series S. So I'm already switched over basically to Digital. If the Digital X gets down to $400 then maybe. But as of now not worth it at all.
They NEED to update those controllers. They need some upgraded rumble tech and make something like the ps5 Adaptive triggers.
This is what is kinda shocking. This is what we’ve been asking for. Instead we get more discless drives. Wtf
When are the pre orders going to start?
Great show for XBOX. Excited for the future.
i haven’t purchased a physical copy of any game since my day one edition xbox one, all digital is the way to go. most are worried about being banned and losing everything but honestly you shouldn’t have been doing what you did to get banned in the first place. having to install a physical copy was the biggest pain, the disk only acting like a license to launch the game still means you own nothing.
You know what's a bigger pain, having to wait 3 days to download most games and then have slow internet the rest of the month, digital is trash.
I’m waiting for the new Xbox that drops in 2026.
If paying 50 extra is going to hurt you, you don't need to buy a gaming system
the black series S is not discontinued.,. you even showed it on the xbox website in this video
Digital game only accepted if i can copy my game on pendrive and hand it over to my friend to him to be able to play it on his xbox.
