Looking forward to the trim. A few years ago I started the portable Wii build sold on BitBuilt and got to the point of testing video output on the portable screen. It didn't output video and several pics and discussions with team members led to me probably trimming the motherboard a little too close. Defeated, I threw the project in a box and haven't touched it since. Watching this project is giving me the urge to resurrect that build. Props to the BitBuilt team and forum members. They are incredible and so very helpful.
NOTE: Wesk (creator of the Ashida) has notified me that the RVLoader installer will install Priiloader and do the cIOS steps automatically, so it is not necessary to do before installing RVLoader. After dumping your NAND, you can simply install RVLoader. I don't think it will hurt anything if you still do them, but it is unnecessary.
Literally last week I started seriously considering this project and I was annoyed that there weren’t any videos of how it’s done. I think this is my answer so I’ll be making one alongside you
because nintendo shrunk the gpu so its less power consuming and produces less heat (on the new wiis). If you use the old one you would need more cooling and a better battery
They replaced it with the PMS3, I have one and I’ve been meaning to upgrade my Ashida to it because it charges the Ashida faster than it drains the battery

Do you still need internet to get the cIOS on RVLoader?
No, You don’t need internet after you update the Wii menu

Nice. This is useful because I'm currently trying to make a Wii portable, also. Can't wait for part 2!
It's actually called the "OMGWTF trim"
I love that 😂
Haha, very original

Why does it have to be rvl-40? Im thinking of doing this and only have rvl 01

The pms2 isn’t in production anymore, do I still need a sd to usb adapter?
