My other issue with the EON adapter when compared to the internal solution is it's basically just a pass-through (maybe with some signal processing/clean-up) of the 480p analog signal over HDMI. Whereas the internal mod taps into the raw digital video signal without any analog conversions.
I use the official YUV cable, but as I didn't feel like moving it around my office, I decided to buy a WiiTOHDMI adapter and sacrifice an old cable to take the XBOX connector. I did this yesterday and the picture is really perfect. For the internal wiring of the box, I used wires from an ethernet cable, a piece of kapton under the Wii2HDMI board (it's in direct contact with the shielding of the XBOX connector), hot glue to keep the wires in place in the housing. The most time-consuming part was twisting the single-stranded copper wires. It's very easy to do, very cheap (3.66€ -> $3.93 ), very light (no need for a stand like on the Bitfunx for Gamecube) and the end result is perfect.
Glad you’re back! Great video. You covered a ton of stuff! Plz keep the monthlies coming. The issue with the old Xedusa imo is that it stuck out super far and lacked a strain relief. That 3” wire is a welcome addition. Audio quality was fine w/ both mics
The “wrap around” aspect of the EDFX replacement case is modeled off the CD-ROM² Interface Unit. In fact, the whole thing is. It even has what looks like the eject lever on top. I wonder if the eject lever design is functional.
As for laser bear pcb screen shot, its a render done in KiCad and as far as i know KiCad always displays a hard PCB, the switch to flex PCB happens when uploading the files to the manufacturer. So could be a flex PCB very well.
The power adapter PCB for the PS2 adapter is a nice idea, but I would want individual power switches for each barrel output just like how a power strip/power distributor is designed. I wouldn't feel great about having everything constantly connected with the risk of vampire draw and if some kind of electrical issue ran down the line, it would hit everything connected. Good initial idea though.
I have an Indigo GB Player from Japan specifically so I could match a GameCube other than Jet. Guess a lot more people are about to get in on the action. ;)
Speaking of video cables, Insurrection Industries has been selling some quality s-video cables for various consoles, recently. There are a few available from Retro Gaming Cables in the UK, also. I was able to order a high quality Nintendo composite cable from Consoles4You (I think in Switzerland) a little while back; it's quite beefy.
The mic quality to me is mediocre, sometimes it sounds slightly hollow, I guess is thought, other times it's OK. Wireless mics are hard to find those that do decent. I was told my Samsung level u wireless band comes in really good. I don't know because I don't like listening to myself.
Im not into the "multi" ODE idea. Like you said, nobody is swaping these from console to console. I just want an affordable ODE for my model 2 Sega CD...this ain't it.
I hate eon, I hate everything they make. It's just open source or bootlegged stuff that you can get of the same (if not better) quality for a much cheaper price. I hate them.
Yes you butchered a ton of stuff Getting rid of the ghosting and the bleeding colors into other pixels. I don't know what that's called, Oh, I have an Idea we should call it Sharpening. Yes that power supply solution is MEANT to be used by people who have a big setup with a bunch of consoles hooked up at all times. There is no need to remember anything as most people would only set it up once, but if not, you can just label the different adapters. Wireless Gamecube controllers, geez. I wonder if the Power A gamecube shaped controllers for the Switch would work...

he returned when we needed him the most!
I'm gonna guess that "mystery friend" is referring to the Amiga CD32.
We include labels with the Triads - the idea is you use the sticker (provided) to label the back of the console.
It is good to see you back. I didn't notice much difference when you pointed out that you went back to your regular mic.

An ODE for the PsOne would be awesome. I could never make my xstation work on the couple of ps I bought 😢 but the slim ones are way cheaper to source!

Once per month works! Welcome back!

You are back. Thank You!!!
Love the 8 bit do controller kits I really hope they do one for the ps2/ps1 duel shock controller.
We are just the same dude I need one of those

LONG LIVE RETRO MODDING NEWS
Hopefully the EON Xbox adapter doesn't suffer from the quality issues that their previous product the Super 64 had.

Please, continue doing these videos.
Phode mystery support is PCE, Jag Cd and Amiga CD32.
“SUB” is sub-channel data. CCD is CloneCD format.

New retro modding news yes

alright, something for the ps1 mini mstation
We need an adapter for a generic optical disc drive for any console.
Mechanism = MechaCon? A PS2 ODE would be very nice
And Amiga means friend.

Want to upgrade the pound cable.
Still saving and recovering from the pc build. Why the high price.
Where’s the limes!
I thought you stopped doing.these

8Bitdoo, not 8Bitdoh
EON really blew it in my opinion. Not really worth getting for options and price.
Monthly??? 🤬🤬🤬🤬
EON lol.
