5:46 You don't actually have to remove the Jumper Pack if you are opening up the console, you can actually just leave it in there. Just lift the N64 top-shell carefully off, and the Jumper Pack will slide out of the console just like a game cartridge would. This is especially useful for those who would like to preserve the the red sticker that says *Do not remove* on it.
I've done a few shell swaps and if I can add one tip. Before putting the the gamebit screws in on the new shell, it helps to bevel the screw hole of feet. It doesn't take much but it helps alot! I just use a phillips head screwdriver and rotate it a few time in the hole (without the gamebit screw in it). This makes getting it started a whole lot easier!
Glad a replacement console shell actually managed to get shipped. Had to cancel my Char GameCube shell because Muramasa kept running into production issues since 2022. Some of these people are way too comfortable with using renders instead of physical prototypes to prove that they are competent.
I've sent over 20 N64's back into the wild and this shell is extremely accurate. All of the flaws that your pointed out are also on a OEM shell, specifically the early RGB (005?) versions. Having these flaws included shows that this really is a 1:1 replacement and not a rendered copy. Nice video! If you invest in a metric tap kit and a pin vice you can tap the plastic before you insert the screws which lowers the chance of splitting.
@@spitt0110 I actually have an NES I did a restomod on with a NESessity 1.4 and (one of the last it would seem) HI-DEF NES kits and a couple 2.2GHz 8BitDo controllers. I wanted to do an SNES for my next project, but since HDMI kits still seem to be a long ways out for those, I figured I'd move on to my old N64 I got for Christmas 28 years ago LOL I love the EverDrive too. Have yet to order one for my NES but I plan to, along with one for my N64 when I get it all done up.
Awesome video! I got so excited when I saw you posted a new one! But then I had a mini panic attack like, 'WAIT, HOW MANY DID I MISS?!' 😂 Since the goodbye videos and hello streaming, I’m glad I didn’t fall too far behind. Keep up the great work-I’m loving the content!
Looks awesome! Personally I like the two tone transparent green shell. I’d love to get one since I have a couple of the Retro Fighter controllers in that color!
Since China is producing the typical translucent colors, I figured I'd back the NES and Orange Spice flavors. I got mine last week; bought a N64 and Retro GEM to install in the NES shell.
I’m guessing there’s a reason he needed the extra power in this case: the plastic screw holes likely did not have threads cut into them yet, so it has to be done when putting the screws in for the first time. A used console with screws already in it would not have that problem. As long as you aren’t using an impact driver and you keep the drill on low power, it is easy to move slow enough to prevent damage to the plastic.

Thanks for the tip!
I LOVE the NES themed shell with the Ultra64 badge. Going to have to snag one for my N64 restomod project.
That would be a sick build with the new Everdrives, or at least the newer ones, I just recently saw nes emulation on 64 is near perfect.

Hey man, thanks for watching and commenting! It’s been awhile but I decided I wanted to make videos again

Welcome back Dubes! Great Video man!
New Dubes video (that isn't an unedited live stream vod) lets f'ing go!

Great video! What’s would be the main difference between these and the ones you have on AliExpress for half the price?
We’re going to find out, I have one of them and want to do a quick follow up video
@dubesinhower amazing, thank you for documenting that
My aliexpress one fits like a glove with no issues whatsoever-$70 plus shipping? Got me f@&kd up homie.
Do not use a power tool to screw shell on any console

Too late for me. Already have a MiSTer and ordered the analogue 3d in white. Nevertheless nice shell colors. ☮️
So you just bought a Purple N64? Why not buy a used one that doesn't work and swap shells?
