Good to hear your thoughts on the albums Darcy. Have to say I'm only familiar with your top 3 albums. I'll check out some of those other albums based off what you've said about them, particularly tempo of the damned. Have to say I wasn't that impressed with persona non grata, hopefully the new album will be a step up.

Some great additions to the collection there Darcy. Some cool Maiden and Ratt collectable editions and glad the thrash collection is being added to. Cool song from Hellripper, glad James decided to release it as a single.

Great metal tag video me ode, I don't watch many to the end. LOL. With regards to Flotsam & Jetsam, according to discogs, Drift has never had a vinyl release. "When The Storm Comes Down", there's a seller in Canada on discogs with a bad copy up for sale but there are other copies available from USA. Cuatro on vinyl is going to break your bank balance to get i'm afraid. There may be some hope in the fact that MCA are now owned by universal music group. Their reissue campaigns are not that bad, i have already been to the music on vinyl website and requested the three albums be reissued by them. they did do 'no place for disgrace' didn't they.... and you never know..... happy new year to you me ode and take care

Interesting and great video Darcy. Really looking forward to new releases from Testament and King Diamond in 2025. I have 7 different versions of ”Number of the beast”, 3 on CD and 4 on vinyl, I know it sounds crazy.😂 I can definitely understand the grail feeling for the Rush box set. Didn’t grab it in time. Fortunately, they are releasing the albums separately in the end of January. I have them on preorder, but the box set would be a dream come true! Love Loudness, and the albums you mentioned. Try to grab ”Disillution” from -84, I think it’s a great album. Who is ABBA? Are they from Sweden?😂 Take care Darcy!🤘

Nice review. In my opinion this box set is fantastic! I don't own any of the 2015 pressings, just the cd's from back when they were released. These sound so good compared to the cd's, the artwork and packaging is top notch and finding them on vinyl in the current day was near impossible, so I am grateful to Rhino for releasing this. And I agree, the vinyl is not 180g but still very substantial so i have no complaints. Now if they would do something with Feedback, Vapor Trails and Snakes and Arrows i'd be a happy boy!

Hello Darcy, Good tag. I enjoy watching these to see what everyone shows. Metal Mickey reminded me in his tag about Running Wild with a new release as I'd forgotten all about them so that will be cool to look forward to. Loudness are a band I wish I could get into but for some reason I seem to have trouble taking to their songs... I don't dislikee as such but also don't seem to like enough... it's an odd one for me. Hopefully it'll click someday. Can't beat some Abba - a fine band and the 80's in general is the ultimate music decade.

Btw,what do you think of the new King Diamond's single? I must admit I was not very impressed. Maybe it will grow on me but I have listened to it a few times already and...It is okay.Nothing more,just okay.

Outside of metal, I rally like Kajagoogoo and their album ""Islands"". This is a very interesting mixture of Rock and Pop with GREAT vocals by Nick Beggs and some of the best bass guitar work I have heard in my life. And I am a bass player.

Speaking of albums/bands that you are told to dislike,I have found an album that literally knocked me out. GODSMACK and their ""Awake"" album. Normally I don't like nu-metal and I try to avoid bands like Disturbed or Slipknot but this album is really good. Heavy and dark.

ENDORAMA!!! YEAH! I have been defending this album for years. I love Kreator's entire catalog and I have been told by critics and reviewers to hate Endorama but,honestly,I can't. It is a really good album.

Yeah,Asphyx is a great band. Whitechapel is going to release a new album this year. I know you like Cattle Decapitation,perhaps you should check out Whitechapel, they are sort of similar.

Awesome video, Darcy! I’m a huge fan of Metal School, as well. I’ve learned quite a bit watching those videos. I just watched the installment on Testament recently. That is a thrash band that I never made the time to get into, but that is definitely changing now.

Another great album with a horrendous cover is Metal Church - Hanging in the Balance.

I think my boomerang album is Exhorder's Slaughter In The Vatican. Ive had it on CD like 4 times in my life. Will jam it and burn myself out and then pawn it. I should say pawn over the years because do pawn shops still buy Cds or cassettes anymore? lol! Im on board with you about the 80s stuff. My mom always had music on before I listened to what I do now. We all do it. Bob Segar was my Dad's band and my Mom always rocked Meatloaf, Queen, or Joan Jett. So I like all that stuff and my wife and I always jam 80s when we travel together. She tries to tolerate my stuff but at some point will say, please change it! Lmao!

Hey great response to those questions! Brainstorm is such a great band I don't know what other albums you have by them but might I suggest HUNGRY, UNHOLY. METUS MORTIS, SOUL TEMPTATION and LIQUID MONSTERS. A new Vader would be cool thanks for the recommendation on them. And yes I'd like to see the Metal Mogul come back also! Fully enjoyed this one my friend!🤘👍

Cloudy turned so many people onto Hellripper including myself. I still only own his most recent album but on the hunt for more. You are right that COC album cover is so boring and lazy. I would never have picked that album up if I didn't already know who they were. Sodom has some great cover art that's for sure. Great tag mate😃🤘

Hello Darcy, this will be my first time commenting on any of your videos. It was your mention of the band "Brainstorm" that has urged me to do so. I hadn't heard anybody mention that band on RUclips before, so I thought it was time to add a few words for anybody interested. Brainstorm was one of MANY bands I was listening to in the early years of the 2000's, although if you went by the music magazines at the time you would believe "Metal was dead". God, how very wrong people were! I found so much good Metal (mostly coming out of Europe) it was costing me a fortune! While it seemed everyone else was worshipping the return of Bruce to Maiden with"Brave New World" and Halford's "Resurrection" albums, there were bands in the background deserving of people's attention (and money) just as much but not getting it! Here are a handful of bands from that general timeframe that may be of interest to those of you who appreciated Brainstorm's music. Forgive me Darcy if you already know of these bands, but if you see any that are new to you, I urge you to give them a listen on RUclips if you find the time... (This is not homework by the way, I am just genuinely trying to point out some quality Heavy Metal from the past that should have been bigger). First, I would recommend the "Ambiguity" album by Brainstorm... "Crush Depth" and "Maharaja's Palace" are great tracks. Also at the same time, the singer of that band was in another band called Symphorce that were in a similar vein. Tad Morose had an album called "Modus Vivendi" that is awesome ("Mother Shipton's Words" being a standout track for me). There was also a band called "Sinergy" that had a few albums out around that time, known for being a side band for the fantastic guitarist Alex Lahaio. More "traditional metal" than Children of Bodom with a female singer. Great stuff! ANY of the early albums by At Vance... Unbelievable musicianship and one of the best singers I have ever heard. Silent Force's album "Infatuator" was a big favourite of mine at the time, like a cross between Priest and classic Queensryche. Another "perfect" album for me was Nocturnal Rites' "Sacred Talisman" album. The sort of album Saxon fans should enjoy a lot... Catchy, melodic and memorable riffs. What more can you ask for? Other bands at the time that a well worth a listen are Metalium, Paragon and Lost Horizon. Honestly, all good music! Bonus recommendations: a band called "Beyond Twilight" with the might Jorn Lande on vocals... Put your earphones on, close your eyes and listen to the song "Perfect Dark"... If that doesn't send shivers down your spine, I don't know what will. And if you want something that's a cross between (good) Pantera and Dream Theater try "The Empires of the World" album by Biomechanical. The singer is incredible! Anyway, sorry if any of these bands are old news to you and your channel viewers, but as a long time Metal fan I felt the need to reminisce about a time when "metal was dead"... 😂 These days I'm afraid I don't buy too much new music, mainly due to lack of funds, time and space, but it doesn't stop me enjoying the tsunami of good Metal bands that are here today thanks to RUclips. Don't worry I will always buy and cherish anything new from Priest, Dream Evil, Angel Witch etc... but count me out of the running for spending what I used to... sadly! Hope this long, wordy essay has been worth your time and some new OLD bands may have found a place in your listening pleasure. I may not comment much Darcy, but I have to tell you how much I enjoy your channel. Keep up the excellent work! 🤘😁🤘
