I've actually never heard of that Overkill album mate. That Sacred Reich album is quite underrated and definitely flew under the radar when it came out I think. Not heard the new Dead Daisies yet, but I'm off to see them in London this weekend. Sweet update Cheers Darcy

Another great update Darcy. Damn, I missed that Overkill reissue. I’m still eagerly awaiting the EAR Annihilator reissues. That should be the end of the Savatage reissues so hopefully soon.

So many reissues out there, I'm happy with what I have. Took me a few listens to like the Hammerfall now I love it. I have 1 release from Crypt Sermon. I picked up that Sacred Reich. I picked up all those Saxons on vinyl from 2000 up.

Solid update there Darcy. Yeah that daisies artwork/booklet seems half done. Not sure why they only put lyrics for a few songs in it. The artwork has potential, perhaps they needed to rush it to get it out or something. The new Hammerfall sounds pretty good from what I've heard as does Crypt Sermon. Good to see some Armored Saint and Saxon also.
I’ve missed a couple of Hammerfall albums over the years but what I have and including the best of cd I have it’s enough for me I think. It’s not a band I have to own everything from. Although I did come across something on vinyl from them recently cheap and I couldn’t help myself 😂 I haven’t heard that Sacred Reich album but sounds interesting with some groove elements 🤘cool update mate
Another great update, Darcy! HammerFall is a top-10 all-time favorite band for me. I have all 13 of their albums, and there isn't a weak one in the bunch. Glad to hear you're on board with them now! Their second album, "Legacy of Kings" (1998) is my favorite, but a couple of their more recent albums - "Built to Last" (2016) and "Dominion" (2019) - are in my top 5 as well. It's a great mix! I'm looking forward to checking out the new Flotsam and Jetsam album and the new Dead Daisies album. I'm completely with you - although I love Glenn Hughes as a singer, I prefer Corabi's voice with the Dead Daisies. Psyched that he's back in the band! Rock on!

Nice stuff and video as always Darcey! Was a little behind your video,s , but now i have new inspiration to find some nice vinyl again. In the summer i bought some re- releases for my colection and a little new stuff. Comming weeks ...try to build up my kreator /sodom collection. Violent revelution on yellow vinyl is ok and tapping the vain looks nice too. Read sodom will re release more , maybe wait for that. Heard in a video new testament will come out in januari , looking forward to that. He said theres a ballad on that too:) stay heavy!

Hammerfall is excellent, they have a very consistent discography. Despite what you may hear, Infected is a really good album also. If you enjoy the later Savatage albums You should really check out TSO Beethoven’s Last Night. It is essentially Savatage with an orchestra. Not all of TSO’s albums are holiday music.

At the moment I enjoy the new Frozen Crown songs. Italian power metal with female vocals. Their new album is coming. Maybe you like it? Also the new DGM is coming excellent progressive metal. Savatage is one of my favorite all time bands. Just discovered the Canadian prog rock band Mystery, too soft for metal fans but what a top notch musicians. Keep on rocking!

Great haul. Love "The Stygian Rose". My AOY so far. I came in with "The Ruins of Fading Light". All three releases are great. I think each one has gotten a little less doomy than the previous release.

Errrr, that Dead Daisies cover looks like what a Forbidden reunion album would look like, hahaha... the colours, the idea... The OG Sacred Reich logo on "Heal" would drive me nuts, hahaha... It´s cool that we have different views on certain things. It would be so boring if everybody would think the same. Nothing to argue but a vibrant and arousing discussion is always good. The Armored Saint reissues look very true to the OGs. Metal Blade does a good job with their re releases and they don´t overprice their vinyl versions (yet???).
Metal Blade’s prices are creeping up too, they just do it more subtly. They do $1 increases every now and again hoping you don’t notice lol. That would be pretty boring if we liked the same thing, but you do have to like Voivod & Razor, it’s mandatory 😂
Great picks! I have some of those on Cd. I have that Overkill album with the bonus Live DVD on CD. As well as Sacred Reich and the Armored Saints. I think there's a new Armored Saint either coming out, or is out...I was thinking about that yesterday. Right now I'm just currently trying to finish my Killing Joke and MDC collection, then taking a break. Phil from Sacred Reich always said MDC were his favorite punk band. Not sure if you've heard Cruel Force, but they're a newer band I'm championing right now if you like old school thrash/speed metal. They've perfectly captured the sound/feel of early Venom, Exodus, Exciter, Motorhead. They released their 3rd album a year or two ago. Check them out if you haven't.
Armored Saint released a cover song single a few weeks back, but that’s a one off, no new album until 2025. I’ve heard of Cruel Force, haven’t heard their music. Thanks for the recommendation, I will check them out 🤘 Cheers Greg

Maybe its not top drawer but it got me interested again ..just in time for the goodness to follow ..I'd put in just below the classics ( early and newer) ps crypt sermons debut is great .. can't compare to the new one it's on my list to get still ..
To me there is only one Hammerfall album & thats the debut..Glory to the Brave. Its killer 80's sounding metal. I can't understand the interest in The Dead Daises. I think they are a really mediocre rock band. I've got the first two Crypt Sermon albums & they are ok, but a bit overrated to me. I reckon Heal is by far Sacred Reich's weakest album.
@darcysixstringsninelives3493 to me, you only probably need the first 2 albums & the rest all sound the same to me. But Glory to the Brave sounds more 80's, even the production is more lo-fi 80's sounding & not so modern, polished sounding. Sort of the same issue I have with Primal Fear albums.

Actually one time I did have a problem, a Lizzy Borden album came with the wrong centre ring on one side, I emailed them and they had a new one out to me within 3 days. The OG Sacred Reich logo on "Heal" would drive me nuts, hahaha... It´s cool that we have different views on certain things. It would be so boring if everybody would think the same. Nothing to argue but a vibrant and arousing discussion is always good.
The Armored Saint reissues look very true to the OGs. Metal Blade does a good job with their re releases and they don´t overprice their vinyl versions (yet???).
Metal Blade’s prices are creeping up too, they just do it more subtly. They do $1 increases every now and again hoping you don’t notice lol. That would be pretty boring if we liked the same thing, but you do have to like Voivod & Razor, it’s mandatory 😂
Great picks! I have some of those on Cd. I have that Overkill album with the bonus Live DVD on CD. As well as Sacred Reich and the Armored Saints. I think there's a new Armored Saint either coming out, or is out...I was thinking about that yesterday. Right now I'm just currently trying to finish my Killing Joke and MDC collection, then taking a break. Phil from Sacred Reich always said MDC were his favorite punk band. Not sure if you've heard Cruel Force, but they're a newer band I'm championing right now if you like old school thrash/speed metal. They've perfectly captured the sound/feel of early Venom, Exodus, Exciter, Motorhead. They released their 3rd album a year or two ago. Check them out if you haven't.
Armored Saint released a cover song single a few weeks back, but that’s a one off, no new album until 2025. I’ve heard of Cruel Force, haven’t heard their music. Thanks for the recommendation, I will check them out 🤘 Cheers Greg

I dropped off after wfo. That's my least favourite.. . I got sent immortalis and just loved the energy . . Maybe its not top drawer but it got me interested again ..just in time for the goodness to follow ..I'd put in just below the classics ( early and newer) ps crypt sermons debut is great .. can't compare to the new one it's on my list to get still ..
To me there is only one Hammerfall album & thats the debut..Glory to the Brave. Its killer 80's sounding metal. I can't understand the interest in The Dead Daises. I think they are a really mediocre rock band. I've got the first two Crypt Sermon albums & they are ok, but a bit overrated to me. I reckon Heal is by far Sacred Reich's weakest album.

@darcysixstringsninelives3493 to me, you only probably need the first 2 albums & the rest all sound the same to me. But Glory to the Brave sounds more 80's, even the production is more lo-fi 80's sounding & not so modern, polished sounding. Sort of the same issue I have with Primal Fear albums.

My copy of Into The Labyrinth should arrive either today (Friday) or Saturday. Is that the last of the MOV Saxon reissues then? I have them all, they certainly know how to do a reissue at MOV. Should have the new Flotsam & Jetsom some time next week, i've done a small 'order' from AFM Records again, more back catalogue stuff from U.D.O., Bonfire, Herman Frank & Orden Ogan. (all cds).
