I have read that now even some counterfeit Casios can show the “Casio" and all LCDs-on display. The best way to determine if you have a counterfeit is to open the case back. There are pictures online that compare genuine to fake Casios by the difference with the internal modules.

Regarding the wrong plug being sent, I noticed in some scenarios I have to select EU plug, add to cart then select EU plug again, it's weird but I almost ordered a simple usb cable (overpriced) this way im stead of cable+charger so you have to be very vigilent at checkout. Reminds me of my dad being "scammed" on wish ordering a chain in stead of chain+chainsaw. I think it has to do with the way the seller put the listing up, very predatory.

Since the WS-1700H shows the time in digits in both the stopwatch and timer mode, I don't mind that those modes take over the analog display.
