@@chrikanipe779 I just paid $4 at Walmart. I got the black one. Walmart is changing out the display cases for watches and putting some watches of clearance. I got to hit up another Walmart to see if I can find another deal.
This was my first Casio after I got back into watches after a decade of wearing Apple Watch. I love its large display and G-Shock killer dimensions. I’ve now “collected” most of (if not all) AE-series watches (AE-1000,1100,1200,1300,1400,1500,2000,3000) and 1500 is an outlier (even though 3000 is bigger in size, it’s a world-time watch like most of the others in AE series)
Wow! Thanks for sharing that - Cool that this was your first of the series! 👌 I much prefer Casios to smart watches too 😁💯 Man, you’re an absolute collector of the AE-series! Which one is your favourite, Sathish? 🤩
I have all the AE models and this is one of my favourites. Here's a tip. If you want to make it more comfortable go and get yourself an eight and a half inch wrist. It'll fit fine then. Thanks for the video.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this Plex 🙏 It’s such a cool watch! I appreciate the tip 🤣🤣🤣 I guess I’d better start eating more and adding reps to my pushups routine 💪😎
i have got one and it is defenately worth every penny/cent you need to pay for it. For 25 quid you get very solid watch with 100m wr and all essential functionality which will serve you couple of years for sure
Good stuff, Greg! 🙏 I agree - It’s a high-value watch. I’d definitely recommend supplementing it with a screen protector to make it last that bit longer too! 👌
You mentioned when you put it on your wrist it’s either too big or the next hole it’s tight. What I do is I put a self adhesive pad either rubber or like the soft side Velcro pad on the back side of the watch and it gives the adjustment a half of an adjustment to make it more comfortable and meets in the middle. Also if a watch case digs into your skin, it raises it a bit and you can’t feel the edge of the watch and keeps it more breathable for your wrist. And the good thing is it’s hidden and can’t see it and I usually get them at Walmart or the Dollar Tree. You get like 6-8 in a package.
What a wonderfully intuitive solution, JJ! 🤩👌 I love the idea of using the soft side of Velcro pads, and have some spare I can use. Thanks so much for sharing this tip! 🙏
Your welcome, I’ve been doing that for a few years. I did that one day when I was at a Dollar Tree and saw them on the shelf. I thought maybe that will work for my funky fitting watch bands that have that issue. I tried it and it worked. By the way , I enjoy your videos on watches. I’m a watch nerd sort of speak and been wearing them since the 70’s . Thanks for what you do on RUclips.

I think Casio did a good job with this watch, it has pros and cons commensurate with the selling price. Nowadays, of all the digital Casios I own, I can only see the time clearly on the Pro-Trek which has large digits; therefore this AE-1500 is certainly recommended for those who no longer have twenty-year-old eyes. Excellent and comprehensive review as always.

The alarm functionality matches that of a modded W-800H, including the snooze option on the first alarm. So you can compare button-presses and use this piece's indicators to figure out the functionality. Perhaps if I ever do the mod again, I'll investigate whether the seconds can maybe even scrolling the other way are those features. Probably not, I did not actually enjoy the modding process as I did not like that piece, but it was easy to pull off. My brother wears his AE-1500 extremely loose, like 2-3 notches too loose but is perfectly happy with this. The scratches on his resemble what you got on it, but his is also completely rounded over at the corners. If that already looks like 'paper' to your wife, I think she'd be shocked to see my e-ink phone. Not that I am watching this on it, it's entire point being to do more involved things on my other devices, like my laptop used to write this comment.
Great point, RedWyvern! 💯 And one advantage the large screen gives the AE-1500, is being able to show which of these 5 alarms are active at all times! 👀 That’s a smart way to know how it’s done - I am going to keep this knowledge in my back pocket for when I use the W800H alarms next 😁👌 Fair enough man - I find it surprising that the prospect of further modding doesn’t excite the one and only RedMacGuyvern 😜 Interesting - I might try wearing mine a bit looser too. I have it, and use it for reading the time and split times when running. The large digits helps when it's shaky. I got another, in tan with negative display. It looks very nice but legibility is very bad, so go for the positive display if you want good legibility.

Hmmm. Positive displays tend to be more legible, though I have heard that the AE-1500 in negative has quite a nice legible display too since it's so large! Which one is pulling you the most?
i definitely think its a cool watch. especially the ones with a negative display. i also had the same issue with the wrist band being either too loss or too tight.
Cheers Dan, I agree! 😎🙏 Yep, I hear this is one of the few watches that REALLY nails the negative display legibility - With another one being the GD-350 which I can personally vouch for 👌 Oh man, it’s rough right? 😅 the AE-1500 could really do with some closer-together notches for adjustment
@@donnymac575 G’day Donny! 👋 I can’t comment on the GD-1010, but I would say absolutely yes AE-1500 can withstand everyday wear, with one recommendation: a glass screen protector. Hmmm, for a 6 inch wrist I'd recommend considering some other options, as this one is NOTICABLY LARGE on my 6.5 inch wrist. Functionality wise, (and price wise) the W800H is very similar, considerably smaller and has the potential for modifications later down the line! 👌 Here's my review (and mod) of that one: ruclips.net/video/j9QUpjP85DU/видео.html
Yes i have just bought, its very nice watch really i took this for it's clean display visibility and alarm system, i do have cons as u mentioned like light as it basic black color absorbe the light, the one i also think should be there is number setting (timer setting) it should have go back to one digiti but it grt watch in this budget
Ha Ha! The beep doesn't bother me at all as I can't hear the beeps on any Casio. The AE1500 is one of my faves but when I need an alarm I use the Casio W736 which vibrates. It also features one of the best dial lights. :)
Interesting! Too high pitched, I imagine? 🤔 AWESOME! 🙌 I too, am a BIG fan of vibration alarms. Namely, the GD-350. 👌 Thanks for pointing out the W736! 🤩 I was not aware of this model. 🙏

Hey Goat , I have a suggestion for you for your next casio . I will suggest Casio Aw 90H . It a quirky one , has some unique feature , looks cool and very affordable. I hope that you consider my words! Thanks 😊
Definitely it is a good watch, the price it is rigth, but there is a few things i don't like, as you mention there is no option to scroll backwards the numbers, that is a very practical feature that even some vintage casio got i don't know why a new casio don got it, i don't think could be difficult to include on the module, as i mention before i don't like the resin crystal, not for the scratchs just i feel it is not resistant enough, the big numbers reminds me some cheap casio knockoffs i saw before and i like face plates that separates the screen on differents sections, big numbers on that screen without a face plate is a not for me, but it is a casio, so it is a good watch highly recommended a quality product for a good price, nice review my friend always a👍 for you.
Good stuff David! 👌 I appreciate you weighing in with these thoughtful points🙏 I had never considered that this watch didn’t have a faceplate! 🤯 But you’re right, the separation a faceplate provides can be valuable as it’s divides the screen clearly into it’s different sections. 👌 I’d love to see what an AE-1500 would look like with one! 👀
I bought one with a negative display, I think it’s hilarious to have the most legible watch Casio has ever made in it’s most illegible form. Massive slab of a watch. It’s like a hockey puck with a wrist strap.
It's a cheap beater meant to beat the crap out of it, no more, no less. It's neither a tactical watch, nor a collectors item. It tells the time and has a few goodies and that's it. And once the batt dies, it's not worth changing, trash it and get a new one ore something else.
Such an interesting take - Thanks for sharing this Doug! 🙏 I see what you mean. At this low price point, it's almost like a long-lasting disposable, that you can quickly move on to the next when the battery finally dies 😁👌
Outrageous, right? 😂 Awesome - Yeah I quite like the audio feedback too, makes it easier to get back to home time (after a timer or stopwatch) without needing to look down at my watch 👌
I owned this watch, paid under $20 for the sand colored version. I didn't like that it doesn't display the time while in stopwatch and countdown timer modes. I gave it away when I got the round version of the Casio Royale.
Wow, now that’s a great price! 🤩 I quite like that sand colourway too 👌 Fair call. Oh man, I know the one! I’ve got one of those ‘Round Royales’ in my backlog to review some time 😁
Love mine. it's a budget G shock. The one bug is the date format, what morons think placing the month then day is correct. In the English language, it's A B, then C, alphabetical order, etc, and day, month, year. The day is always most common, followed by month then year. At the very least, give the option to choose.
Good stuff, Paul! 👌 That's a good way of looking at it - basically a G-Shock haha. I too much prefer the date format you mention, and believe that it should be standard! 💯
@@AndyRimmerRedsicks Fair point, Andy! 👌 For some, it’s pretty much disposable at that price 😂 But for me, a few dollars spent on the screen protector multi packs gives me peace of mind. For common models, it’s literally less than $1 per protector. So a good investment IMO! 😁👌 Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed. 🙏

Hi Keith! That would be cool - but unfortunately not. The vibration alarm is quite an uncommon feature, I’ve found 😄
no automatic light :(..........like the big numbers ......want that in a 1200
@@SteppingR Oh man, that would be a cool upgrade. 👌 Thanks for the suggestion, man! 🙏
Aku bingung mau beli yang AE-1500WH-8BV (negative) atau AE-1500WH-1AV (positive)
Yep, I hear this is one of the few watches that REALLY nails the negative display legibility - With another one being the GD-350 which I can personally vouch for 👌
Oh man, it’s rough right? 😅 the AE-1500 could really do with some closer-together notches for adjustment
The negative display will work with this size of display 😀
For those who may own this watch, do you think it is rugged enough for everyday wear? Maybe the GD-1010 would be a wiser choice?
@@donnymac575 G’day Donny! 👋
I can’t comment on the GD-1010, but I would say absolutely yes AE-1500 can withstand everyday wear, with one recommendation: a glass screen protector. The lens is big, so will pick up scratches easily without one, as mine did within 1 week of wear. I got mine from here:

I have one of these strapped to the handlebars of my motorcycle as an extra gauge.
Great for keeping an eye on the time.👍🏾🇬🇧🏍
That’s such a dope idea! 🔥💡👌
Was it easy enough to secure it properly?
I bet it blends in with the gauges quite well. I hope nobody steals it off the bike!
@@goatreviews Yeah. Easy to put on the bike. No one will take it. 👍🏾😉🏍️

RUclips recommend a good channel ever . Became your fan
So glad RUclips decided to share the channel with you Raghavan! Welcome to the crew 🤝
I have this model in blue. I like it for it's ease to read and comfort but i can hardly hear the alarms unless im in complete silence.
Interesting! Cool colourway too 😎 Thanks for weighing in, Steve! 🙏
I love your dog bro
Thanks Marsus! 🙏❤️
Me too, she’s the best ever 🤩
I have bought one, and its amazing. But is this watch shock resistant like G shock watches? Just curious.
Awesome! Glad you're enjoying it, Erick 👌
Negative. Despite it's beefy appearance, this is NOT rated by Casio as shock resistant like a G-Shock! 😁
Thanks for the info man! Appreciate it!! 😃
my wrist is ultra small i .e 6 inch . Can I go for it or avoid it
Hmmm, for a 6 inch wrist I'd recommend considering some other options, as this one is NOTICABLY LARGE on my 6.5 inch wrist. Functionality wise, (and price wise) the W800H is very similar, considerably smaller and has the potential for modifications later down the line! 👌 Here's my review (and mod) of that one:

@@goatreviews currently I bought A168wa but next I will go for your recommendation thanks for your time
No problem, brother! Happy to help. 🙏
Yes i have just bought, its very nice watch really i took this for it's clean display visibility and alarm system, i do have cons as u mentioned like light as it basic black color absorbe the light, the one i also think should be there is number setting (timer setting) it should have go back to one digiti but it grt watch in this budget
Awesome - Nice pickup Vijay! 👌 Glad you resonate with the points. Thanks for weighing in! 🙏
Ha Ha! The beep doesn't bother me at all as I can't hear the beeps on any Casio. The AE1500 is one of my faves but when I need an alarm I use the Casio W736 which vibrates. It also features one of the best dial lights. :)
Interesting! Too high pitched, I imagine? 🤔
AWESOME! 🙌 I too, am a BIG fan of vibration alarms. Namely, the GD-350. 👌 Thanks for pointing out the W736! 🤩 I was not aware of this model. 🙏
I fully agree, the W-736H is a truly gem in the world of Casio watches - my favorite actually.
Hi, Can anyone please tell me the exact LCD screen diameter..just in case I need to put a tempered glass for extra protection??
Hi Ranodip, I don't have the exact dimensions but I do have the EXACT Tempered glass protector I have ordered, which fits great: geni.us/1500GLASS

You forgot to mention that the first alarm also has a snooze press adjust two times to turn on the snooze
Cheers for pointing this out, Rony! 🙏
I should have mentioned this in the video…
I did make use of this feature though! 👌😁
Hey Goat , I have a suggestion for you for your next casio . I will suggest Casio Aw 90H . It a quirky one , has some unique feature , looks cool and very affordable. I hope that you consider my words! Thanks 😊
Very cool! 👌 Thanks for the suggestion Raghavan, I appreciate it 🙏
I own this watch but just felt it’s a bit too large for my liking… but it’s a good watch nonetheless. Enjoyed Your take on it 👍
Fair call, Scot! 👌 I can totally respect that - It’s a big watch! 👀
Thanks man, I appreciate it 🙏
Definitely it is a good watch, the price it is rigth, but there is a few things i don't like, as you mention there is no option to scroll backwards the numbers, that is a very practical feature that even some vintage casio got i don't know why a new casio don got it, i don't think could be difficult to include on the module, as i mention before i don't like the resin crystal, not for the scratchs just i feel it is not resistant enough, the big numbers reminds me some cheap casio knockoffs i saw before and i like face plates that separates the screen on differents sections, big numbers on that screen without a face plate is a not for me, but it is a casio, so it is a good watch highly recommended a quality product for a good price, nice review my friend always a👍 for you.
Good stuff David! 👌 I appreciate you weighing in with these thoughtful points🙏
I had never considered that this watch didn’t have a faceplate! 🤯
But you’re right, the separation a faceplate provides can be valuable as it’s divides the screen clearly into it’s different sections. 👌
I’d love to see what an AE-1500 would look like with one! 👀
Wow, that's an impressively fast reading on the watch.
@@texicano_fxdls3411 Hahaha, glad you enjoyed that 😂🙏
I bought one with a negative display, I think it’s hilarious to have the most legible watch Casio has ever made in it’s most illegible form. Massive slab of a watch. It’s like a hockey puck with a wrist strap.
Haha, good point 😆👌
I hear the negative models are still greatly legible! 👀
Love the hockey puck analogy 😂
I knew you would really like it
Hehe, cheers! 🙏 It’s a very cool watch - Glad to own it 😁👌
It's a cheap beater meant to beat the crap out of it, no more, no less. It's neither a tactical watch, nor a collectors item. It tells the time and has a few goodies and that's it. And once the batt dies, it's not worth changing, trash it and get a new one ore something else.
Such an interesting take - Thanks for sharing this Doug! 🙏
I see what you mean. At this low price point, it's almost like a long-lasting disposable, that you can quickly move on to the next when the battery finally dies 😁👌

It’s definitely a big watch, with a G-Shock like appearance 👌
How dare they not put an East-West scroll button on a $20 watch😅😊.
Love the sound of pressing the buttons I don't know who wouldn't
Outrageous, right? 😂
Awesome - Yeah I quite like the audio feedback too, makes it easier to get back to home time (after a timer or stopwatch) without needing to look down at my watch 👌
I owned this watch, paid under $20 for the sand colored version. I didn't like that it doesn't display the time while in stopwatch and countdown timer modes. I gave it away when I got the round version of the Casio Royale.
Wow, now that’s a great price! 🤩
I quite like that sand colourway too 👌
Fair call.
Buy a Timex digital, they usually can change from MM/DD to DD/MM (not to mention the infinite better backlight, logic UI, louder alarms....)
@@LV-42617 Thanks for the suggestion, LV! 🙏 I would love to get my hands on a Timex some day 👌
thx
All good, Leone! 👌
Screen protector for a £25 watch? Just get another one. Great review BTW.
@@AndyRimmerRedsicks Fair point, Andy! 👌 For some, it’s pretty much disposable at that price 😂
But for me, a few dollars spent on the screen protector multi packs gives me peace of mind. For common models, it’s literally less than $1 per protector. So a good investment IMO! 😁👌
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed. 🙏
This screen, with less playful and thinner bezel, then this watch would be better perfect.
That would be a cool variation, Bogi! 👌

easy to read is good
Indeed, this one is INCREDIBLE at legibility 🤩👌e
Why not squirt water onto watch face, then put the film on and squeeze it flat out
Clever idea! 💡 I reckon it could compromise the stickiness though 🤔
Either way, I have some glass protectors on the way so will hopefully install that once much easier when it arrives 😅
Good vid, I laughed at your cons ONLY because this watch price wise is so cheap…
Hahaha, this is a good point, JarHead! 🤣 It’s certainly an incredibly valuable watch, and therefore we can’t expect the world for this price 😁👌

Fair call, man 👌 I know some people are against these fake bolts. Personally, I don’t mind them. They’re also on my Casio WS-1700H, and it looks quite nice in my opinion, so I understand it as a design choice.
Am I mistaken or is the reviewer confusing milliseconds (thousandth's of a seconds) with centiseconds (hundredth's of a second)?
