The Casio A158 and A168 are two watches that will never go out of style. These Casios are engineering perfection with the blend of materials that are both affordable and charming. The functionality of the watch and the sliding clasp making adjustments easy are just fantastic. Time, date, stop watch, and an alarm all in a neat package providing everything you'd need in a watch. Nothing more, nothing less.
@@BosunM8James I love this take, Jamie! 🙌 I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised by this watch, having worn it for a week. Nice review, I am rocking an A-158W since 2017 and this watch really rules, the water resistance is much more then WR, I was using this watch in the sea, swimming pool and showering of course and it's still alive, Casio is so humble when giving their watches the water resistance levels. Respect
@@Gtaszaki Thanks my friend! 🙏 That’s awesome to hear you’ve been rocking it for 7 years! 🙌 Wow, thanks for sharing this further testament to the water resistance being underrated! I agree - and it’s wonderful to see a company that over delivers on their promise. 👌

The A158 is a true GADA watch. The F91W you can wear with a suit. You get a Patek Nautilus/Cubitus bracelet for almost nothing. More versatile than the A168 because of the less cartoonish text on the dial. The A168 has hooded lugs (like the F91W) but doesn't fit as easily under a cuff. The A700 is thinner, but I feel like the modern case paired with that retro 70s style bracelet hurts its versatility.
@@discoscience Some great and logical points here, man! 👌 Most people I have heard from have preferred the A168 over the A158, and this is a refreshing take. I appreciate you weighing in here. 🙏
Its strong points are being vintage iconic and the steel bracelet with that type of clasp. For the rest it is obsolete like the F91. For €30 I bought my son the B640: 4 buttons, illuminator, 5 bar WR, steel bracelet; for a small economic effort you get much more and it is still a vintage looking watch (check my short about it). The 10 second test on the stopwatch with your eyes closed: Houdini. Does it tear your "fur" (your wife's copyright)? Answer her proudly: "for beauty you have to suffer a little" 😂. Nice review, honest and complete.
@@deips74 I agree, these are great strengths going for the A158W 👌 That’s an awesome pickup, man! 🙌 Very functional. But we must admit, the appearance can also play a very big factor, so it does come down to preference in this regard. Apparently the alarm volume is actually dependent on the water resistance level, less water resistance means a louder alarm and vice versa.
