WindBound on a Tiny Island | Solo Camping.
As I headed on on a three day canoe camping trip to a tiny little island in the middle of a big lake, I was pretty excited. The paddle in was good, the water was a bit rough but not too bad. On the second day the wind really picked up and that's when things got a bit dicey. Unfortunately I had to cut my trip short and left a day early. I was stuck on the island and I was windbound on a tiny island.
Thanks for watching, I always appreciate it.

Solo Backcountry Camping | Canoe Camping
Просмотров 435Месяц назад
I was able to get out for another camping trip. This time I packed the canoe and headed to a new lake. This was peak bug season but the bugs left me alone, I was shocked. It was a good trip. I had a nice paddle in, the site was beautiful. I was trying out a new hammock sleep system. I filmed the trip for the first half then I put the camera down and just enjoyed the rest of the trip, no filming...

Early Spring Solo Camping Trip

This is the earliest spring camping trip that I have ever been on. This was the end of March and all the snow was long gone. I hiked into a beautiful little spot right beside some rapids. There were many challenges on this trip, the wind picked up making things very difficult. This was also one of the more challenging trips to film with all the noise from the rushing water and the wind from the...

Up here in Eastern Ontario we have had a pretty mild winter so far. It is now January and most of the snow has melted. With no new snow on the way, I decided to get out and do a little winter camping anyways. It was great to get out into the great outdoors again but I did miss the fluffy white stuff. Wow those wilds?! Back in college my bf and I went on a short canoe camping trip. We were stuck on the site for two days, my then bf, not anymore! decided that we could make it. We did not, we flipped the canoe losing much of our gear. We were fine but we had to be helped by a local fisherman. Wind can be awful on those trips. Glad you made it back alright. Love the ribs over the campfire idea, they looked great.

Obviously I did make it back ok. On my way back an older couple did capsized. I went to help but the gentleman didn't want any help, oddly enough his wife was wearing a PFD but he was not. Anyways I watched them for a bit and they made it to shore and seemed ok. He seemed pissed! Even though I had the tailwind it was still pretty rough out there and the pickle was taking on water. Your photography is outstanding. Please always give us locations. I have no idea if this is Boundary Waters or upstate New York. And I'd like the name of the lake. I'd be willing to bet that if you found the right type of hammock (several different types of gathered end, bridge or Amock) you'd be like me and youd never go back to the ground. There's almost always good trees to hang from.

It’s too bad you didn’t get your Sheath in Cheboygan 😂 *** Pro Tip: get a spare set of blade pins and C clips from Agawa. There’s a little pocket on your Sheath for them. If you lose a pin or clip while changing blades, your saw is useless until you get home and replace the part you dropped 👍🏻 * Have you read Kevin Ride’s book about dehydrating foods for camping? It’s also full of his recipes…many of which he’s made on his YT channel * when you turn 60 you can bring an electric chainsaw with you and when you turn 80 you can bring a log splitter too 🤣
