  • So I finally made it out for a solo bikepacking trip. The weather was beautiful, if not too hot. The leaves were changing colour and the bike in to my campsite was fantastic. I really enjoy these bikepacking trips. I find bike camping quite peaceful plus the bike ride in is great for me. I normally bike camp in the beautiful Gatineau Park in Quebec but they are closed for renovations so the best I could do was to bike into a local Provincial Park and camp there. I hung my hammock, had a nice campfire and cooked up some grub, not too bad for me!
    Thanks for watching, I always appreciate it.

    ATV camping is my all time favorite.

      You know what I have never tried ATV camping but I think I want to give it a try. Same with winter camping with a snowmobile. I really do enjoy the biking and I certainly need the exercise but getting deep into the bush with an ATV would be cool.

    A easy solution is to reverse the straps. and use a marlin spike hitch. Love your videos Dan. You always bring a smile to my face. Enjoy Buddy !

    Hey Dave,
    Really great to see you on another adventure! I haven't tried bikepacking yet, but you make look so fun and easy that I will be trying it soon. Perfect timing on your latest video release, at least for me, as I am going camping this weekend in the Sierras down here in California. Thanks for yet another great adventure!!

This was again a very enjoyable camp trip. Ontario, Canada.

    Haven't done bike camping. I like 4 wheeler camping and canoe tripping the best. Time for a fishing rod upgrade, will help you land those monsters.

      Bike camping is fun, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I only go in the fall as the summer is way too hot for me. I still prefer canoe camping. I am looking to upgrade my rod. I still want a collapsible rod for these kinds of trips but they are not as reliable as a normal rod. Losing that fish really pissed me off 😂I was fishing for about 30 minutes and didn't get a bite until that fish and it was pretty big. I felt back that the line snapped and the fish still had the lure attached.

    This was a fun trip. My first love will always be canoe camping but I do love to change things up from time to time. There's something great about packing up the bike and heading out on the trails to do a little bikepacking.

    Love it. I am a big biker so I love this kind of footage, the more the better. Love the riding shots was that done with a drone? Sorry about the fishing, too bad you had to bring the smaller rod but good on you for bringing any rod,. I always leave mine at home on bikepacking trips!

      Thanks Shane. These are fun videos to make and I love and need the exercise. I do like bringing the collapsable rod but it can be frustrating sometimes

    Hi Dave, would have been a lot faster if you put the sausage on the fire pit grill and do smoked sausage. I'm glad to see the knee is doing good did you have both done or just the one.

    • @DavidNorthFilms
      @DavidNorthFilms  8 месяцев назад

      Ha, you are correct. Cooking the sausages on the fork took a while so the grill would have helped but to be honest I wanted to try it on the long fork and the grill was really disgusting so I didn't want to cook on it. My knee is doing well. I had one knee down this year but I tore the entire other knee when I was 19, playing hockey and volleyball.

    Everyone should find a way to get out of their houses, that makes people sick and we don't notice, till it's too late.....

    Glad to see that your knee is holding up. Just wondering what trail you cycled and park you stayed at. Really enjoy the vids.

      Thanks, the knee is doing well, now I just have to get back into shape! I stayed at Rideau River Provincial Park this time. I was on a few different trails and some highway riding as well. I really didn't like the ride in. I normally bike into the Gatineau Park which has amazing trails. Thanks for watching.

    Nothing wrong with a little bit of glamping at a park. I like to change it up sometimes .an have some xtra amenities. How far was the bike ride in?

    • @DavidNorthFilms
      @DavidNorthFilms  8 месяцев назад

      Yep, I like to do a bit of glamping as well. I do that a lot when biking with the kids. The bike ride was about 60 km and took me about 4 hours because there wasn't a great trail to get there.

    Very cool video question is there a reason you prefer traditional cycle touring setup over a bikepacking setup

    • @DavidNorthFilms
      @DavidNorthFilms  8 месяцев назад +1

      That's a good question. I have thought of changing up my setup but I have only gone on a dozen or so bikepacking trips in the last few years. Once my current bike dies on my I think I will really look at upgrading my entire setup. thanks.

    *_Hello sir... I'm pleased to see that people your age like to cycle, as well as do solo camping, even just using a hammock, are Quebec parks safe from wild animals? ... nice to meet me, Rudy Tutorial Outdoor from Indonesia_* 🚲🏕💯👌👍👏🤝🙏

      Hi there, thanks for your comment. Quebec parks are pretty safe from wild animals. There are bears around but for the most part they leave you alone.
