I assume the programmed as intended rule is to have a method to figure out what are bugs or exploits. When the rule is implimented in that context, it makes a lot more sense why you wrote it.

21:00 vroooom - only time I've ever had speed like that in my games was when I cheated a fully modded Ender IO armor and stacked speed potions, to uncover a lot fast in a creative world, because without either of those I'd spend half a minute flying through a single biome... You mentioned enjoying playing packs with restrictions - have you considered doing a playthrough of Compact Claustrophobia? I find the fact that you can start using dyed wool to 'draw' on the walls of the packs to be fun, and I'm interested in what kind of restrictions you'd play with.

Railcraft is very useful for automating things, if you're the kind of person who tries to do everything with cheap early game mechanics instead of gathering lots of resources and you're playing a modpack where all the other automation is expensive. You can make an autocrafter that keeps a certain number of circuits stocked in your chest, using only Railcraft automation.

That is the most bonkers way of generating a resource I've ever seen. It's... beautiful. It's art. This the kind of thing that makes me want to talk about it to the like two people I know who would GET how wild it is. Also, your writing is both informative and hilarious, bravo. Algorithm, get this goose to the top!

Bees.

IC2 cross-breeding is pretty weird if you're used to bees. The results you can get are just the crops that any one of the inputs can breed into - the combinations don't matter. This is usually based on them having a similar tier and tags. Tier is the most important thing as the code pretty much just explicitly stops you from getting a high level plant from low level plants. There are online tools to calculate which results you can get from certain input plants, and since the algorithm works separately on each input you just need one to match the tool.

I watched some challenge runs in another game by someone who always phrases their video titles as "Can you beat <game> with <restriction>?" so that you can validly answer "no, because you need <item>" and then spawn in <item> and keep playing to show how close you can get and still make an interesting video.

Chunk generation happens in two steps in this version and all previous versions I'm aware of (probably back to infdev). First the basic terrain is generated block-by-block. Then multiblock objects are added, known as "population". This is a second step because a multiblock object may cross into the next chunk, so that chunk's basic terrain needs to be available. Whenever Minecraft loads a chunk it checks if it should be populated. If the mod author wasn't paying attention (see: all the other mod bugs in this pack) they may have forgotten or not known to trigger population with the regeneration explosive.

There actually IS a special interaction between engines and wooden pipes, and the interaction is called Minecraft Joules. The Minecraft Joules system was originally the interaction between engines and Buildcraft machines, and got repurposed to store all kinds of power. Buildcraft has gone through many developers over the years. When CovertJaguar, a very stubborn person, had it, he decided to change it in ways that made it completely useless for general power transmission, which resulted in the birth of Redstone Flux as a replacement, and the next Buildcraft developer moved the whole mod over to Redstone Flux because there was no reason to keep MJ any more. Minecraft Joules was designed based on the idea that an engine transfers a pulse of power every few seconds when the engine piston hits the end of the shaft. When it's used for generic power transmission, the "pulse" happens every tick. Buildcraft conductive pipes have always been weird since their creation for the same reason. The engine delivers power into the pipe in pulses, but the pipe delivers power to the receiver every tick in small increments.
