Noita’s one of those games that, while there -is- documentation, almost defies you to find it…except for the part where the game is made by an insane Finnish man and 80% of the secrets are things without much chances of hints. No spoilers, of course, but while it’s *incredibly* satisfying to bend the game to your will it is very much going to be difficult without looking too far into secrets.
A group of insane finnish man* Arvi Teikari is among them, and you've probably seen Baba is You or ESA, or his new collection of sokobans (he made, like, 30 of those in the past 1,5 years)
jokes on you goose! this is a game without such weaknesses as "developer intentions" or "linear progression" you cant play in spite of developers if the developers want you to break everything! oh and a challenge for you, drink non chaotic polymorphine in a bad situation and survive, that stuff is the godkiller
Noita follows the uniquely hostile game balance path of allowing cheese, but using its own cheese to compensate. It is perfectly possible, and debatably intended, to win the game in two seconds with a wand of "create an egg that creates an egg that teleports you to the final boss trigger then teleports you to the win trigger then detonates a nuke on your position." Actually pulling that off, though, is an exercise in futility, because everything will be vying to scrample your existence inside of a couple frames, and that's just how it is sometimes.
To anybody unaware this is not exaggerated in the slightest. That spell is (was?) used in speedruns and there are in fact enemies that can kill you in a single frame though typically when that happens it was your fault
That is important to note too; despite how unfair the game is, on a fundamental level nearly every terrible fate a player can meet with is a direct result of their own mistakes, and a measured approach is generally sufficient to avoid almost all of it. The catch, as with most games of this caliber, is the scale of that mistake can vary wildly, from "don't get bled on by this specific enemy," to "don't cast sawblade tornado on my grid coordinates."
Goose applying the scientific method (fuck around, fuck up, find out) to a game that wants one to break it... Shenanigans, hi-jinks and tomfoolery are imminent, everything is going up in flames and it will be beautiful

The Devs had what is essentially an Arms Race, in everything but name, with the frothing at the mouth secret hunters that several of their games fans have become, straight up having to use anti-data-mining techniques to keep stuff somewhat hidden. Some of the earliest ones even got to have their name added in credits for agreeing to a message the Devs hid asking for them not to reveal some stuff until a later point. Several puzzles are approachable and solvable by examining them and the world closely, especially those added later, but a lot of them are deliberately drawing on the approach of Esoteric Alchemy and are aggressively difficult to comprehend via normal in-game means. I believe it will suffice to say that one of the secrets actually has, as always, extremely cryptic instructions that want you to tinker with your game options, and even then it only kind of helps with the secret, it doesn't out right reveal it. Long story short, attempting to solve secrets on your own is fun, but the game isn't designed for every secret to be solvable from in-game methods, so don't beat your head on the brick wall *too* long. There are a couple secrets that the community is STILL trying to crack even years later. Personally I'd love to see more of Noita. It's a game that pretty much demands cheese and fighting dirty because it fights back at least just as dirty. And it's a lot of fun watching someone try to break the game as hard as possible.
Since Noita is such a rabbit hole and I very much would love to see more Goose stumbling and fumbling in the world of Noita, here is some unsolicited, spoiler-free advice: 1. You can use (some) explosives to blow out some of the terrain above the cave, giving you a space to regenerate your levitation and allowing you to explore to the right. Additionally, Mud potions can stick to surfaces, giving you the ability to climb flat surfaces, like the tree to the left. 2. The starting loadout is always 1 projectile wand, 1 explosive wand and 1 potion. The recharge/cast delay on the explosive wand is (most of the time) really good and putting the projectile spell on the explosive wand is usually a good enough for the Coal Pits and Snowy Depths. At least with sparkbolt. 3. Some areas have side areas to the left or right. These are usually a bit more dangerous, but they also have better wands. Explore at your own peril. 4. You are indeed correct that Polymorphine is dangerous. But it's probably even more dangerous than you think. Not only does it transform you, but it also bypasses your perks and modifies your max HP. You could be a planet annihilating half-god with thousands of HP that can kill anything before it even has a chance to appear on your screen, but all that stands between you and death is 1 pixel of Polymorphine and a small amount of damage.
I would also like to add that pretty much every perk can backfire in the wrong circumstances, and that there are ways to leave and reenter the holy mountain without destroying it, although I won't say how as I don't want to spoil. Trigger spells like spark bolt trigger are very good, since they can spawn a projectile onto an enemy when you hit, and grouping spells with things like double cast shares modifiers.
Not the creator I expected to see uploading Noita content but I'm absolutely here for it! If you like breaking games I feel like you'll enjoy this one, given it's propensity to break you back. Noita is one of my favorite games of all time, and I am highly looking forward to watching as you stumble your way through your early days and build up the knowledge and mastery that let you really make the game your own. You might want to consider how much you check comments, since your progress in learning the game can be drastically shortcut if people just tell you how the game works and where secrets are, so decide whether you want that or not early.

While Noita is not my type of game, I really did enjoy this video and the new narration style. The mixing of live and post commentary works well with this game for sure and look forward to see you possibly doing it in other videos
Goose should definitely play Snail Simulator. It seems slow at first, until you get a good group going and/or discover how to take advantage of the terrain to go flying places. Plus, the community is really wholesome.
i'm in love with this game and your playstyle is the exact thing this game needs to be beaten the fact that you discovered luminos stacking this early while from what ive heard and experienced it can take few hours just to get past the first stage let alone find a drill to experiment on is baffeling if you continue this game, its gonna be one hell of a ride
A good trick to remember - if you don't have water, you can extinguish flames on your body by quickly sibmerging into any liquid. This works on oil too, surprisingly.
Ayyy Noita, beat it a couple times and found some pretty op secrets, but then school started again and never got to see quite how far its rabbit hole went for myself. I'd probably watch more of you playing it
Also: Spark bolt with trigger and 2 chainsaw spells is a decent starting damage wand. Especially if you get one of the spell modifiers that can cast 2 at once.
It did not occur to me until I saw it, but Noita is such a perfect game for someone exactly like you. Can't wait 'til you learn the intricacies of wand crafting and become god, before getting abruptly slain by your own godhood-induced hubris
I'm so glad that more people are discovering this amazing game. Can't wait for Part 2, where Goose defeats the "final boss" and wonders why it was so easy - only to explore more in the next run, and when they fight the "final boss" again, wonder why they got curb stomped.
i cannot describe how excited i am to see more of goosed noita this is easily one of my favorite games and watching you figure out like 50% of its most important systems that fast is incredibly promising also i love the live commentary, works really well
I'm calling it now, goose gets "the gods are afraid" by episode 5. With how much he's experimenting now it's only a matter of time before he triggers that effect
It’s really interesting to see you approach a game you know nothing about, since all the other series on this channel are you taking games and making them turn themselves inside out at your whim. I hope to see more of this in the future!
Noita is one of my favorite games! It goes from dying to everything and not knowing why to dying to everything and KNOWING why to killing everything and not knowing why to (Redacted for spoilers) and I love it so much. I can't wait to see what absurd wands you tinker up in your pursuits, Goose.
As someone with a few hundred hours in this game... the game is built to break you back. Immortality is an illusion, you can and will always die in this game (I died with 197 million hp once). It's surprisingly robust as well, and while there are some very powerful exploits (heart mage cheese, reroll machine breaks), they're shockingly difficult to pull off
really enjoying the mix of live commentary and narration. your narration is always what I enjoy most but I think this works better for a game like noita.
Very exicted to see Goosetech™ get adapted to Noita! My only complaint with this video is that the glorious (presumably underwhelming) deaths weren't shown.
Omg! Goose playing my favourite game is something I would never expect. I was literally wondering what if would look like if you started playing noita. Maybe one thing I want to say is don't listen to anyone's advice and any time spent dying and trying again is not wasted as long as you're having fun! Explore this game by yourself as much a you can. It honestly was the most fun part for me before I had to start using wiki to know how to do a bunch of stuff
Really thought Goose was going to get Noita'd with the experimental wand in the shrine. Kudos getting past the first shrine both alive and unaccosted, unexploded, and unconcussed. Well. Two of those.
Wow! Another appretice arrives to the land of being Noita'd, good luck goose! I've played GTNH, Blightfall and have 400h in Noita and far from being done with it, but it is chock full of exploits, but you will *need* them. So glad to have discovered your channel.😊😊😊😊
I'm soooo excited to see you play more noita!!! as for the water, you spent so long mining gold that the pipes generated from the special event just kept filling the cavern up with water!
Looking forward to this series, I know little of Noita (other than being generally deep and complicated), but this seems like a great fit. Deaths are as even more fun than success, would love to see more of that in future videos. Keep up the great work!
1. most potions (and all of the op ones) you use by pouring them over yourself instead of drinking them, when you have an effect that way, its called a "stain" 2. being stained with blood increases your crit chance 3. ambrosia (a stain potion) makes you literally invincible 4. its worth trying out mixing various materials because theres a whole alchemy system, eg. water will dilute toxic sludge, concentrated mana dissolves metals 5. when you reach the end, the game is far from over. you can climb the cliff face at the start of the game by using your bomb wand to make it climbable. some starter wands are easier than others. 6. sacrificing yourself in the pursuit of knowledge is the greatest tribute to the gods
Remapping keys is often helpful. Something you can reach on instinct (like mouse4) for the fourth slot where you shall *always* carry a water flask (for extinguishing yourself and neutralizing toxic sludge alike). "Throw" key is almost entirely useless and more likely to get you killed since all it really throws are flasks and you do not wanna throw flasks; the most valuable item to throw at enemies for environmental (aka trick) kills (which net you double gold) is that emerald tablet you've seen occasionally (it does surprisingly strong physics damage as well). Anyway, remapping the "interact" key and especially "kick" key to something more easily reachable is also encouraged.
absolutely amazing game choice that honestly has so much to give, ON TOP of having secrets that are litterally built into the game engine so we cant datamine them. if you like this game ill love watching it
I think this is a perfect game for the channel. I very much would like to see this continue as a series. there is a lot of stuff to do. Like so much stuff.
Love the combination of live and post commontary you edited it together really well also love the video in general your by far my favourite feathered youtuber
Liked the video very much after watching the entire New horizons series. That series is very intense if you watch it back to back. While this is very refreshingly relaxed. I hope you keep this live commentery mixed with voice over format for later videos in this series. And as someone who has never played Noita it's fun to watch you figure things out real time. Cheers.
Odd pronunciation of the name aside, I share people's interest in seeing you master noita's systems. You figured out quite a few mechanics much faster than I would expect a new player to as well. I expect you're going to get quite good at it rather quickly, as you seem to be on the same wavelength as the devs. I'd also like to say you had a remarkably good instinct for perks and spells that can get you killed. Most people need to die from teleportitis/freeze field/angry ghost or pretty much any of the things you were cautious about before figuring out the risks they pose. Insert clip of Palpatine saying "We will watch your career with great interest" here.
if you ever plan on trying out livestreams, i feel like Noita would be the best bet for it (of the games you've played on the channel so far). But i would also enjoy seeing noita added to the video rotation, it's a nice change of pace every once in a while.

Goose should definitely play Snail Simulator. It seems slow at first, until you get a good group going and/or discover how to take advantage of the terrain to go flying places. Plus, the community is really wholesome.
This is great!! I love the (blind!!) experimentation and I hope you play more! Noita is great and there is a lot to unlock and do.
Literally just got home and the notif popped up on my phone. Plans be damned, I've got a goose to watch!
i'm in love with this game and your playstyle is the exact thing this game needs to be beaten
the fact that you discovered luminos stacking this early while from what ive heard and experienced it can take few hours just to get past the first stage let alone find a drill to experiment on is baffeling
if you continue this game, its gonna be one hell of a ride
A good trick to remember - if you don't have water, you can extinguish flames on your body by quickly sibmerging into any liquid. This works on oil too, surprisingly.
Ayyy Noita, beat it a couple times and found some pretty op secrets, but then school started again and never got to see quite how far its rabbit hole went for myself. I'd probably watch more of you playing it
Eating your own vomit? they made this goose wizard into a dog. messed up.
this is going to be entertaining. noita's wand building system is the deepest magic system I've ever seen.
We love seeing a Goose experiment. I'm here for these kinds of videos. Go off king.
Invisiblium is actually really powerful... if you don't burst your stomach by drinking ten gallons of potion at once. 😂
I was not ready for the jankery that goose + noita will provide, welp time to dive in head first.
Valeu!
Also:
Spark bolt with trigger and 2 chainsaw spells is a decent starting damage wand.
Fading out to wand experimentation and back in to being dead is the most Noita thing possible
I'm so glad that more people are discovering this amazing game.
Can't wait for Part 2, where Goose defeats the "final boss" and wonders why it was so easy - only to explore more in the next run, and when they fight the "final boss" again, wonder why they got curb stomped.
i cannot describe how excited i am to see more of goosed noita
this is easily one of my favorite games and watching you figure out like 50% of its most important systems that fast is incredibly promising
also i love the live commentary, works really well
Can't wait til Goose figures out parallel universes.
I'm glad you're branching out more
I'm calling it now, goose gets "the gods are afraid" by episode 5.
I can't wait to see what absurd wands you tinker up in your pursuits, Goose.
oh man i can't wait to see how you'll break this game, too
As someone with a few hundred hours in this game... the game is built to break you back. Immortality is an illusion, you can and will always die in this game (I died with 197 million hp once).
It's surprisingly robust as well, and while there are some very powerful exploits (heart mage cheese, reroll machine breaks), they're shockingly difficult to pull off
this is like a dream turned reality, the year JUST STARTED and we are off to a fire start.
really enjoying the mix of live commentary and narration. your narration is always what I enjoy most but I think this works better for a game like noita.
Always love in-time commentary for some actual reactions! Hope you continue with it
Wow! Another appretice arrives to the land of being Noita'd, good luck goose!
I've played GTNH, Blightfall and have 400h in Noita and far from being done with it, but it is chock full of exploits, but you will *need* them. So glad to have discovered your channel.😊😊😊😊
Noitagain
I'm soooo excited to see you play more noita!!!
as for the water, you spent so long mining gold that the pipes generated from the special event just kept filling the cavern up with water!
I loved this! Well-edited game play including live commentary is a niche not enough people live in.
Great video! Noita really suits your style of videos, so I hope you make more!
Looking forward to this series, I know little of Noita (other than being generally deep and complicated), but this seems like a great fit. Deaths are as even more fun than success, would love to see more of that in future videos. Keep up the great work!
Guy who playing games unintended ways playing game with only intended way is breaking it to hell and heavens, this is gonna be entertaining.
God, if it continues im gonna love this series, can't wait for unhinged goose game breaking shenanigans
1. most potions (and all of the op ones) you use by pouring them over yourself instead of drinking them, when you have an effect that way, its called a "stain"
2. being stained with blood increases your crit chance
3. ambrosia (a stain potion) makes you literally invincible
4. its worth trying out mixing various materials because theres a whole alchemy system, eg. water will dilute toxic sludge, concentrated mana dissolves metals
5. when you reach the end, the game is far from over. you can climb the cliff face at the start of the game by using your bomb wand to make it climbable. some starter wands are easier than others.
6. sacrificing yourself in the pursuit of knowledge is the greatest tribute to the gods
As above, so below
Noita is the most crackhead wizard game possible.
I adore it and have gotten SO close to getting the Amulet.
Anyway, remapping the "interact" key and especially "kick" key to something more easily reachable is also encouraged.
this is one of those games that I've always wanted to get in to, but have never found a good way to, super glad to be able to watch you play it now!
saw this in my notifs and said 'woah' wistfully out loud. noita is my favorite game of all time
Oh no... Goose enters noita. I'm afraid
absolutely amazing game choice that honestly has so much to give, ON TOP of having secrets that are litterally built into the game engine so we cant datamine them.
if you like this game ill love watching it
Being a long time noita player and modder who just discovered goose recently, this was entirely unexpected but entirely awesome
I think this is a perfect game for the channel. I very much would like to see this continue as a series. there is a lot of stuff to do. Like so much stuff.
I would like to see more of this unknown game on your channel, but please keep explaining what you do and why you choose your upgrades.
Thank you
Love the combination of live and post commontary you edited it together really well also love the video in general your by far my favourite feathered youtuber
I am ALL HERE for some variety content, you're starting strong with a game like this
im very excited to see more of this--glad you're branching out!
Cheers.
Noita mentioned. Sleeper agent activated.
Well done, goose. you made me do it. you made me spend money on youtube. fav youtuber meets fav game... how am i meant to wait for that?
can't wait to see goose somehow progress skip over unsolved puzzles in the game, i mean its bound to happen
I am so excited and really hoping for multiple episodes of this
That was a very enjoyable video! Never even heard of Noita before but it looks fun! Looking forward to the next episode!
Noita is one of my favourite games and will probably be right up your alley. Very enjoyable video!
oh god you figured out the luminous drill delay reduction immediately. you're going to be building a wand that launches ICBMs within 3 episodes
Nice I just started noita few days ago and u figured out the Secrest faster than me. It's nice to branch out with whatever u wna play keep it fresh goose
"We'll just make that problem worse, shall we?"
I love this game. I can imagine you cracking open reality here, once you become acclimated
So, sooooooo looking forward to Your Gooseness finding out how deep Noita goes 😆
Goose and Noita is definitely a perfect combination for witnessing an amazing amount of chaos.
Please more noita! Really refreshing to see you discover a game from scratch
