As another commenter mentioned, I did have a good amount of time in the game before recording the first year. That being said, a large majority of those ~120 hours were spent before the 1.1 update. To put that in perspective, that was in 2016 when there was only 1 farm option lol

I thought this was going to be hard on its own, then I saw you fish for Sturgeon in spring and realized just how hard this was going to be. (Also fun fact - most of the special brewing is based on IRL alcohol brewing! Fermenting wheat makes beer, and hops are used for flavoring.)
Yeah I was supper pre-occupied that first year trying to finish the community center and not knowing when fish were in season lol. Personally, i'm not much of an alcohol drinker, so I don't really know too much about brewing, but it's cool that the mechanics in game are similar to real life lol
If you ever wanted to try brewing without significant alcohol levels try making ginger bugs or kombucha. They're like fizzy drinks, but a bit less sweet, and with some health benefits. Quite fun to make. :)

As someone who prefers milder beers like lagers, i dont really care for it, but it's popular bc of the hops! beer can actually be made from any grain, wine is any fruit derived alcohol.

@@JackDuckGoosemy understanding was that friendship decay didn't happen if you were maxed out on friendship, and with your spouse it's cancelled out by talking to them once. I like it, it just means I start out by talking to my spouse every day before I leave. Hardly a concern really, you only have to regularly interact with one (or however you're married to if you're using the poly mod) people to maintain it.

Tbh even with the comments, you were still pretty limited in what information you had. I remember not being able to finish a link between worlds bc only one of my friends had the game, but they got stuck on the same part I did. Getting the full 100% could've easily been thrown off by one or two items, the fact you did it without the wiki at all is incredible!

You can also click their little profile in the friend tab to see in a convenient little list. Anything other NPCs mention (such as the “if you want to be friends with my brother give him..” type dialogue), previous gifts given, stuff from the secret notes, will all be added automatically by category (cooked, mineral, etc) and whether they hated, liked, loved it. I think this is from 1.5 or before but it’s nice when you know you got the secret note and don’t wanna dig for it.

I was expecting ads to pop up anyway because youtube likes to play that way. To my surprise and I'm very grateful for it, there really was no ads at all! That is the normal range for a Scarecrow, it's 8 tiles in every direction going outwards from a Scarecrow. It looks a bit bigger though because there is a second Scarecrow already placed a bit higher

I'll be the first to say that it isn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. There's just a lot of trial and error and need for patience. 'Since I knew I was probably going to make 2-3 videos on it, I wasn't in too much of a rush lol
tip: the little tree symbol in your inventory lets you check bundles without running to the community center, when it pulsates you have a donatable object in your inventory so check often
I love how a every people i know who played Stardew allways pick the Anime Portait mods I dont want to insult the OG Portait but idk they doesnt feel right compared to how the game itself look
My first playthrough in 1.1 was with the original portraits, so I decided to mix it up this time around. I might do the animated portrait mod with the originals next time lol

Honestly, take your time. I know a lot of people want to rush to completing the community center, finishing all their quests, etc. but the game is best when you just let things come naturally lol

Did you start this playthrough on 1.5? I noticed when you completed the fish tank cc it didn’t turn into a real fish tank (which is a new addition, you can decorate it and put 5 fish in it, I like adding the legendary fish II to it and put the legendary fish themselves in fish ponds).
Great eye! I did start this in 1.5. After the first year, it switches to 1.6. The new fish ponds are my favorite thing from the update. I love the new colors for the legendary fish lol

Lol I honestly didn't know that was a mod. I even think UI Info Suite goes over the line sometimes, so I couldn't imagine using look up anything

You can also click their little profile in the friend tab to see in a convenient little list. Anything other NPCs mention (such as the “if you want to be friends with my brother give him..” type dialogue), previous gifts given, stuff from the secret notes, will all be added automatically by category (cooked, mineral, etc) and whether they hated, liked, loved it. I think this is from 1.5 or before but it’s nice when you know you got the secret note and don’t wanna dig for it.

That is the normal range for a Scarecrow, it's 8 tiles in every direction going outwards from a Scarecrow. It looks a bit bigger though because there is a second Scarecrow already placed a bit higher

tip: the little tree symbol in your inventory lets you check bundles without running to the community center, when it pulsates you have a donatable object in your inventory so check often

I dont want to insult the OG Portait but idk they doesnt feel right compared to how the game itself look
I used to use anime portrait but seasonal villager outfits won me over. I can't play without seasonal villager outfit mod 😅
My first playthrough in 1.1 was with the original portraits, so I decided to mix it up this time around. I might do the animated portrait mod with the originals next time lol

Did you start this playthrough on 1.5? I noticed when you completed the fish tank cc it didn’t turn into a real fish tank (which is a new addition, you can decorate it and put 5 fish in it, I like adding the legendary fish II to it and put the legendary fish themselves in fish ponds).
Great eye! I did start this in 1.5. After the first year, it switches to 1.6. The new fish ponds are my favorite thing from the update. I love the new colors for the legendary fish lol
