one could say that by naming that pawn "Ducky" before they actually got into a relationship with Goose, you counted your chickens before they hatched... Bird puns, yay
Im sorry but I know next to nothing about rim world so I must insist you elaborate on "Defending yourself with only chickens" because that sounds hysterical
At one point and time, all animals were capable of engaging in combat and telepathically respected area designations - including chickens. You could, therefor, create stockpiles of hundreds of chickens and order them to attack your enemies by setting their area designation over the top of an enemy raid. It was... not very effective. But it was funny.
I loved the immediate change of Ducky to Fiona, especially since it was due to the formation of a standard relationship and her new title is the gayest tiefling, colonists do be ruining your plans no matter what they are
And the cherry on top, TGT as an abbreviation can also mean target, any Ace Combat player can tell you. So yeah, I somehow feel that Fiona's days are numbered.
Oh, hey! Im genuinely surprised that my name was rolled, i never get lucky like this! Halfway through the episide as of writing this, so if i die its fine but still!

Something I learned is that rice hydroponics produce enough rice to power themselves via chemfuel. With 5, you have enough excess power for a full hydroponic system and sunlamp. This is also infinitely scalable, and provides a good amount of heat on top of it all.
Something to note if you have a new recruit or member join if you kill them/they die you get a grace thing that reduces the raid points of the next raid or increases the time untill the next raid, I can't remember which. If you can deal with the mood hit it can be quite useful
Somehow, Goose has fixed my doomscrolling. At least somewhat. Whenever I decide, "Hey! I want to watch some RUclips." I instinctively check to see if Goose has uploaded a new video. If he hasn't, I get disappointed and go do other things. If he has, I watch the whole video in one sitting and then go do something else. His content is so enjoyable that I quite literally do not find other content enjoyable enough to stay on the site (maybe the odd video essay will catch my eye, and I'll watch that). Truly makes my day when I see a new video.
what a nice coincidence, i just finished rebinging gregtech and the first 3 rimworld videos, and now another drops. edit: this expanded base is just reminding me more and more of dwarf fortress- you're even using the lingo for making and designating areas and workspaces.
a useful note if you want to avoid having to have pawns manually turn on turrets - if you put an unpowered conduit near a turret, you can mash reconnect until the turret's wire attaches to that instead. that way whenever you need to turn your turrets on, you can reconnect them yourself through the gui rather than having a pawn run out there to do it.
Goose plays Yanilla Rimworld different from any other I've seen. Though, I'm far more used to the story-based "efficiency matters not let's do something funny" kinda playthroughs
Goose, have you seen the infinite heat production geyser tech going around on the subreddit? It seems exactly like the kind of thing you'd come up with
Might I suggest adding the "Fahrenheit and Celsius" mod? Which, as the name suggests, shows the temperature in both measurements at the same time. For the convenience of your American viewers who's brains still use freedom units.
I just remember a couple, and extrapolate from there. 0*C = 32*F (Freezing point of water) -40*C = -40*F (Fun and relevant) 100*C = 212*F (Boiling point of Water) 20*C = 68*F (Room Temp) So -50*C is -58*F, and ~ -15*C is like 7*F, or a typical North East Freedom Unit schools are still open winter.
I'm enjoying this series!! Has Goose considered doing a series in Dwarf Fortress yet? I feel like that's definitely already been suggested, but just in case...!
Why don't you have chairs provided for most of your workstations? Even if the actual mood and/or efficiency benefit isn't that noticeable, I'd figure making some comfy armchairs isn't that big of a hit to your leather stockpiles.
Hi mr. Goose. love the content. Small thing; in the playlist of this series, episodes number 3 and 4 have switched places. Just thought I'd let you know :)

Really enjoying this series! Knew Rimworld _existed_ but I'd never thought it'd be my cup of tea, but this series has me Very interested so far...
I laughed at the title of the video way harder and longer than I should've. Amazing
1. I see rim rim a la goose
2. I watch
3. I enjoy , not realizing how much time has passed
4. Simple as that
5. Profit.
OMG! I love this so much! this needs to be on a t shirt!
Great Video as always! Praise be to the Goose Overlord, may your pawns behave (hopefully) accordingly (more than half of the time)!

That depends on your threat scaling settings, I believe. If you turn on adaptive threat scaling yes, but that is turned off by default.
Have you thought about dwarf fortress?
I think he did in the finale of the RLCraft series. Pretty sure he said he liked it but wouldn't play it.

What mic are you using, Goose? It sounds very nice.
Can you post your steam mod collection ?

I keep thinking Goose is talking about multiple dudes when he calls pawns they/them pronouns, I thought the pawns were just male or female?
Potentially he is just nonbinarying his pawn
