Nope, one strike under food poisoning and he is down. And vampire healing coma do not work when you are a cat food inside of the stomach.
Fii is an example of why beautiful pawns are such a hazard. If they don't start of hostile, the added social buff makes your pawns friendly to them. In turn, making them sad when they die.
I can't wait until about two episodes down the line when Goose remembers that game balance is truly only a concept and then proceeds to become a nigh-omnipotent deity to everything in this frigid wasteland.

Well, I suppose I should have expected Goose Rimworld to be ice sheet at 500% threat scale... dealing with 500% threat in (almost) vanilla... I commend your bravery and dedication to making life way harder for yourself for our entertainment

At the start I was like 'cool! A nice simple fun vanilla no dlc run to start out', then you threw out basically every good thing the base game gives you, jumped straight into randy max difficulty 500% and declared the most ludicrous end game ever! This'll be good x3
The journey from having to fend off insanity and starvation at every turn to ascending to a walking wasteland demigod who can kill things by thinking about it really hard is always a satisfying (and definitely terrifying) character arc. I have no idea what Rimworld even is and I appreciate a "mostly vanilla but everything is cranked up to middle finger difficulty" run. It lets me get the hang of vanilla mechanics, even if my first impressions will possibly be a little disproportionately, absolutely gorier this way. In fact, thats a positive.
Two minutes in and already excited. I wasn't expecting a normal rimworld run, given the other content on this channel, but also wasn't expecting that every five seconds just piles on another layer of challenge, which is especially impressive given how often similar challenges are cheesed with DLC mechanics.
I hope this series blows up. Your "Edutainment" style of commentary makes everything way more interesting to watch, especially since I've never played Rimworld before nor have I watched videos about it that weren't mod reviews. Your ability to provide witty, sarcastic commentary along with informing someone like me what's going on and why feels really natural and is engaging to watch.
My first colony died because of hunter got some kind of lung cancer. I've made a transplant from some captured bandit, and when hunter woke up, he made a tantrum because of organ harvesting and killed a doctor, plus wounded third person and himself and both died from infection without medical help. Man in black was discharged before that because of some turf war with insectoids, but that's another story. The best dark comedy generator ever. It's sad you are not using DLCs thou. I just can't imagine a game without genes, robots and totaly-not-space-magic. Well, I'll just hope we'll have more series later.

The main part I like about your videos is the narration moreso than the actual gameplay. Seeing weird and unusual tech to overcome absurd predicaments is the extra spice that keeps drawing me in ontop of it.

This is the first DLC-less 1.5 i've seen, and I keep thinking "oh why not make the ideoligion set Paste as loved? Will Goose get Psycasts?" and you're going with a good ol' "Too Cold to Survive", survival. I consider this a big positive.

if you want to use a pawn's inventory to speed up hauling, I recommend using the "pick up and haul" mod instead of using the caravan workaround. huge qol change that cuts out a lot of micro

I was excited about this series the moment I heard it was happening! Rimworld is one of my favorite games and from early on in your GT:NH series I thought your take on a series of it would be quite interesting! Needless to say I wasn't disappointed at all and very much look forward to the next one!

If you're still wondering why Goose was sad about the death of Fii, it was because she had the "beautiful" trait. It gives the pawn a +2 beauty offset, which makes all pawns have a +40 social opinion of them.(Except for kind pawns)
i have absolutely zero pre-existing knowledge of rimworld other than "i've heard the name like twice" but i am extremely excited for the inevitable and cataclysmic goosing to occur
so a fun fact about the lots of colonist opportunity is all story tellers have some sort of priority system to always want to give you a colonist until you hit three, then it goes to normal. ive never dug into the code but ive played for so long its something ive noticed. (Randy also just loves to do it either way but still has priority)
and chasing *right* on the tail of finishing Goose's RL playlist, while slowly burning my way up to date on the Nothing gregtech list, the new saga begins! Huzzahs all around! Just because it made me think of it, I still wheeze at myself whenever I think about how ambiguous amphibian handled discussing his cannibal pawns. Hurray for...Friendship!

Despite knowing nothing about rimworld, i have followed this video perfectly (aside from wondering who "Randy" was for a bit). I will choose to believe that this series will be more of an autobigraphy of Goose's own childhood, as opposed to a simple challenge run.

Where some youtubers get stuck with playing just one game or even one game mode you don't have that problem. Started watching the gregtech Minecraft to RLcraft to now this. All has been great. Granted I play 100's or even 1000's of hours on these games, still. Also still would like to see the ending song from the RLcraft series as a standalone upload here on youtube, such a banger. On any youtube channel doesn't need to be this one.

I've had my starter pawn be downed in a single hit by a single manhunter turtle. Whatever you do don't pick a sickly wimp as your starter.
