In case anyone was wondering what the Ring of Loki actually does: it lets you select any number of arbitrary points in space, and interactions will be proxied across all of them. It's the most powerful and useful tool in Gregtech New Horizons, as it lets you build several hundred of the same machine at once in the same amount of time. Outside of GTNH, it's a little more situational, both because there's less need to spam machines, and because the GTNH version has more functionality, but still incredibly powerful

So you could select a point, then build a machine, and the action of building that machine would be copied to the previously selected point. Repeat as needed.

the alfheim portal reminded me of a terrible, evil pack progression idea I had some time ago: in a dwarven-themed pack. upon opening the alfheim portal, a missive is sent through from the other side of its own accord before the portal shuts off again, telling you what basically boils down to "no dwarves allowed, fuck off." you then have to do your elven "trading" by setting up a messy tech-agglomeration thing around the alfheim portal to force it open again, and send through little drones to pilfer their stockpiles of materials, eventually escalating to the elves retaliating with assassins and you staging a full-scale assault of their dimension

So fun fact: If you want to mass-produce milk in absurd quantities, the best method of doing so is Botania's Drum of the Gathering. Insane, I know, that Botania has the most powerful method of doing something. But it's there. When the Drum is hit with a mana burst, any nearby cows will turn ALL empty buckets under them into buckets of milk. ALL of them. It's up to you how you want to handle them, but this level of milk throughput outshines every other method imaginable. It beats MFR's Rancher, Automagy's Thirsty Tank, and even by hand (probably because of this arbitrary cow milking limit thing where cows only allow themselves to be milked every few minutes). I used this milk, not only to produce Sano, but to generate a ton of cakes for my Kekimurus-based power system. All hail the Keki. If you want a real challenging endgame for this, DO NOT FUEL THE DAWN MACHINE WITH AER. Ban it outright. In the most recent versions of the pack, the Dawn Machine got mad buffs, and Aer essentia turns it from "a quaint taint-cleaning method to cleanse the floor plan of your base" to "Literally the win condition." It makes moving the Dawn Machine kinda pointless, sadly.
ackshually in the unofficial official blightfall discord i was told that how the Dawn Machine currently works is how Talonos intended it to work but didn't have the knowledge or capacity to make it so at the time, but now the person maintaining the pack did it. Also, even the first time i played the pack like 3 years ago, i saw the Dawn Machine as "the literal win condition" cuz it was still better than spamming ethereal blooms or totems of dawn, but now it's actually fit for the purpose, and easier to produce everything you need in one place and be able to feed all the needed essentias, mana and LP into the machine without needing to move your feeding setups every few chunks which let's face it, was tedious and hence, not fun.

@@ziracung I mean, I think Goose is doing things that are momentarily tedious but in accumulation novel and interesting, that's kind of the point, and that's why the episodes are edited such that we're not just sitting there watching hours of repetition. The repetition itself isn't the fun part. But if there's no novelty in the outcome AND there's no novelty in how you're achieving it, then it doesn't make sense to do something 10,000 times instead of one. That's the difference between "Blighless Blightfall" and "Void GTNH" being interesting versus, I dunno, "Mine 1 Million Cobblestone With Vanilla Tools".

I have been loving the Blightfall series so much. I think part of what makes blightfall work as a pack ties into what you said about narrative progression in packs in your GTNH post; Blightfall having a clear story and progression while still letting you approach it however you want really works to its advantage.
You can catch a Pech in a safari net using the safari net launcher. Thaumcraft overrules any other mod's right click interactions with the Pech for some reason, but the safari net launcher doesn't care. Unless they patched that in blightfall specifically

Having finally beaten the pack in the time between the first episode and now, I figured out why I never did so previously: The quest book drops off quite cruelly in the space between "-make- steal 10 ethereal blooms" and "beat the game", so one is left to figure out the tree-farming, alchemical automation &c. in the space between. Thank you for kicking me into gear to finally get it done, though. I've been playing this pack for years at this point without success.
I think it expects a ton of stuff in the middle to just be covered by working through the Thaumcraft progression and exploration. Except that Thaumcraft then has all its own documentation locked behind the world's most tedious minigame, and the exploration part is considerably complicated by it being painfully annoying just to walk anywhere. And not hard--just annoying. 😩 It's such a good IDEA for a pack but it has tried my patience a *lot*.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I once again suggest using a minefactory rancher to milk mooshrooms for soup. You can pump this into a tank and use a minefactory straw to drink from it directly, givinf you saturation 2 buff. This is infinite food. I suggest it even before I've seen the video in hopes that this comment is seen in case this is not known.

Inside is some NPC dude who feels kinda sorry about that whole unfortunate Taint incident, but also a box with a whole damn stack of Blooms and 4 Dawn Totems to boot. Also an infusion setup and a load of research to... "Borrow". He'll even give you boxes of shards and essentia bottles regularly if you drop by!

It's usually the first one I go to cause I'm a casual who likes easy gameplay lol. EDIT: also the pack is getting semi-regular updates but doing a quick discord search looks like no one has started fixing diamond spikes yet.

so the tablet just targetting xp can be fixed by using tinkers to make an unstable scythe (unbreakable and hits in a 3x3 centered on the "mob" it hits) that would up your dps too, since it hits many at once. to increase the effectiveness of that you would funnel the mobs into a 1x1 area, so they cant keep others away from the scythe

fairly certain Liquid Death(the in-game substance, not the canned water you can buy at the store) would be much more effective at farming those mobs from the wrath cages. especially as Liquid Death drops ethereal essence now and then, and that essence can be slapped into the alchemical furnace for basically free essentia.

It is still beyond me how anyone looks at endoflames' abyssmal mana output and goes "why yes, this is how I want to automate my entire mana output!" They are cheap. They do the job. They are also intentionally balanced to do the job worse than literally anything else...

if i had a wild guess why mobgriefing is off, unless theres a mod to disable it, it has to do with endermen picking up blocks and placing them elsewhere i dont know why there arent fine grained mob griefing controls but whatever
If you raise the dynamism tablet one block, would it stop seeing xp orbs? Also, you could still have a spike to do most of the damage and leave the mobs on one-shot

They are cheap. They do the job. They are also intentionally balanced to do the job worse than literally anything else...

if i had a wild guess why mobgriefing is off, unless theres a mod to disable it, it has to do with endermen picking up blocks and placing them elsewhere

If you raise the dynamism tablet one block, would it stop seeing xp orbs? Also, you could still have a spike to do most of the damage and leave the mobs on one-shot
