Goose, I think the slower pace of Nothing going forward is actually really a good thing for this channel. Seeing you do RLcraft was awesome since it’s a different side to your content that proved to be incredibly entertaining and fun to see. Now with Rimworld in high gear we can see that again. Nothing is a great series and works really well, seeing more chill and wacky challenges happening now and coming down the pipeline will keep everything amazing and fresh as we progress though Nothing. Supporting your channel financially is the first time I have done it and I can say with total confidence that it’s a great choice that I don’t regret at all. So, quick TL;DR: about multis, parallels and what they do to your power grid: Overclocking generally makes a process take half as many ticks at the cost of consuming four times the power per tick, meaning you ultimately spend double the EU to get a process done twice as fast. Inherent parallels, of which the Volcanus specifically has a flat maximum of 8 per operation, means you're spending say double the EU/t to get double the work done in the same amount of time. Or, the same EU cost per process, at the same effective processing speed of an imperfect overclock. Separately, Volcani specifically will run recipes 2.2 times faster, and at 90% the normal EU/t power cost. The end result is that an ingot of Ruridit costs a little over 2M EU in an LuV/HSS-S Volcanus, and a little over *20M* EU in an LuV/HSS-S EBF. Remember that you need 16 of these ingots per LuV motor, and you can probably start to see why rushing more advanced technology will do horrible things to your power grid circa IV. One thing you want to be careful about with Mega Vacuum Freezers, though this applies to basically all multis with inherent parallels in general: Cable loss. Yes, that mechanic that hasn't been mentioned or (not coincidentally) relevant since LV or so. Again, TL;DR: It's possible for the MVF to run at over 99% of it's maximum energy input, meaning 1A MV worth of cable loss will cause an LuV powered craft to power fail. Simple solution: Multi-amp Energy hatches can accept more amps worth of power than they provide to the multi, so make use of that. Simpler explanation: Supply 80A of power to that 64A energy input hatch, and your MVF will run fine just fine barring maintenance issues or your entire base falling to pieces. The scanning recipes are as long as they are because they're LV tier recipes, and many people don't bother upgrading their admittedly not very useful until this sudden point scanner from their first one they crafted in LV because it is needed for a few things (or at least it *was* back when visual prospecting didn't exist and prospecting kits were buffed, not that either point matters to a GoG style run admittedly). End result is that people don't look closely at the recipe ahead of time or in the moment for that matter, slap it in their LV scanner and spend the next two hours contemplating their recent life choices. Basically, welcome to Gregtech New Horizons. Can confirm, EBF coil upgrades are not optional. Technically speaking HSS-S tier coils are also optional, but remember the cost of Ruridit ingots I mentioned before? If you're using HSS-G coils instead of HSS-S you're paying about 2.1 times that EU cost per ingot in both cases, not to mention taking twice as long to cook. And when cooking speeds are measured in "minutes per LuV motor" even under optimal conditions...yeah. "Optional", end quote. There's also a GT++ better version of the Pyrolyse Oven, called the Industrial Coke Oven. Yes, it is more than just a bigger, badder coke oven. I have a tendency to call it a Pyroke Oven for that reason. Anyhow, short version skipping math, minutia and fine details: It's better. Related, remember Forestry villagers selling random Forestry saplings? The Tree Growth Simulator will produce more even more logs if given Forestry saplings with specific traits...though unless you're a fanatical believer in the church of nitrobenzene it's unlikely you'll be able to *use* that many logs for a good while. Direct plasma power was indeed nerfed to somewhere below the cheese ore dimension that you can access by using an Awakened Ichorium Pickaxe on a piece of bedrock, but the method of turning plasma into Supercritical Steam and turning *that* into power is perfectly functional. "What does that additional step really add", you ask? No clue. Frankly if you can get to a fusion reactor with enough of your sanity and willpower intact to ask such meaningful questions you've got greater mental fortitude than I. It's that kind of pack, after all.
Is there a fork that makes overclocks actually good? I'm picturing it such that machines can only ever operate at a minimum of the last tier's max (I.e. LV consumes a minimum of 8EU/T, and MV a minimum of 32 EU/T).
@@loneIyboy15 Not to my knowledge, but there are ways to get perfect overclocks (4x speed for 4x EU/t cost) for EBFs specifically, and some multis have perfect (or, at least, not imperfect) overclocks by default. And in any case there are tools that make running recipes in parallel instead of overclocking them quite simple. It's one of those "spend two weeks setting up infrastructure to get a job done in a day or spend a day setting up garbage that'll get a job done after two weeks of AFKing" mechanics. You just have to find the right balance between escalating power costs, production speed and logistical complexity.

The definition of insanity is extreme folly or unreasonableness, or a severely disordered state of the mind usually occurring as a specific disorder. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results was a famous quote by Albert Einstein that often gets misattributed as the actual definition of insanity.
Been a long time viewer, first time commenting though. Thanks for these videos. I’ve kinda developed a weird routine of watching/listening to them in the shower whenever a new one comes around. Sometimes I replay older episodes if it’s been a while. These episodes are just long enough to last through my shower and into my post-shower care, but they’re not so long that I get sick of them. You have a nice voice, and your content is funny to keep me interested without sacrificing actual quality or explanation. I can’t imagine anyone is trying to follow in your footsteps with this dedication to the modpack, but I still love that you explain everything you’re doing. Makes me feel like I know what’s going on, or that I could ever go into a GregTech world and build a machine to automate something I don’t need. Episodes being slower hurts my heart and my motivation to shower, but me and everyone here would much prefer you keep yourself happy and upload at the speed you need to. Writing this comment while I wait for my hair to dry (from the shower, if my relationship to this series was previously unclear) and I have no glasses on, so excuse any errors. Or don’t. Much love ❤
Love the how this series is progressing! Your ability to make work that I would probably find utterly tedious sound interesting to me is a wonder to behold, as always! A quick note, there’s a wand tip that can instantly replace any block with any other block in kinda an ‘Ms paint fill bucket’ kind of way. I think it can move crops around, but the big thing is that it can instantly swap out coil blocks for other coil blocks without you having to break things. I don’t remember which tip unfortunately, I just remember seeing Threefold do it a lot with his volcani and it seemed like a minor but convenient time save. Edit: I think it was ‘wand of equal trade’ but he’s got hundreds of hours of video so I can’t say for sure. Looks like botania’s rod of shifting crust may work similarly as well
I just binged this whole series and I still have no idea what's happening 90% of the time. That's on me though, I'd never heard of GregTech until about a month ago 😅
the hitman reference was goated. now that makes me yearn for a silent assassin suit only run on this channel, probably with some other bs addendum, like only being able to kill targets with screwdrivers or something
I too understand just from watching the video the time sink this endgame is and will love to see how rimworld returns to the earleir days of BMHMWN a void, or icyrock where you must aquire sucess in
Honestly, I wasn't evem sure we'd get another epiaode od this series. You would have been totally justified. Super happy with however much more we get :>

watched the first RimWorld video this morning and decided the ridiculously broken conversion of ~$0.03 for your t2 sub was worth it (and very funny, the conversion rates for my country are broken for some reason) so getting 4 goose juices in a day is definitely gonna affect my mental well being... time will tell how
it's not broken, it's just set at a rate to match the buying power an average person in your country would have, so no matter where someone is from they can support the creator with what they have
@@alyti yup! but it's been covered by spiffingBrit that Argentina's rates are ridiculous 😭 like, I can't even buy T1 because it's 1 cent. I'll probably get one of the higher tiers just cause I want to support goose anyways
I'm glad you're doing well and have members and all that. Sadly the only support I can give is artistically, which isn't an available option. So I'll just continue to comment and like for the algorithm.
I'm fairly certain Orbis Terrae needs to be in a nearby linked Crystal Belljar to have an effect, and that just throwing it onto the Master Ritual Stone like you did at 3:25 doesn't actually work Circuit Assembly Lines only need EV-tier glass, you don't need to use higher tiers You should now have access to the Gaia fight, which unlocks Gaia Spirit tools (as good as Ichorium, aka busted) as well as the Ring of Loki, which is a godsend for building large arrays of multiblocks faster Are you able to use Large Essentia Generators for power generation? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they should be fully usable within this challenge, and they are extremely broken. LEGs carried me until near the end of UEV without ever really having to think about power You're getting close to the point where you need to worry about Neutronium, which has ridiculously long smelting and fusing times. Once you get there, I recommend not even bothering with trying to use your regular smelting setup for it, and instead making a large array of Volcani dedicated solely to passively smelting Neutronium 24/7. (Volcani and not MBFs because they use less power)
Bout to greg! Oh by the way, I had a question. You once mentionned mekanism breaking the way balancing is done in mods. Do you mind elaborating? Do you think Mekanism is a bad mod? Do you enjoy it or not?
I think it is because it is not hard to make a fusion reactor that produces 300,000,000 rf/t, which is more than enough for the endgame of most other tech mods unless a modpack adds ridiculously expensive receipts.
For a long while there was something of an unstandardized 'gentlemen's agreement' where non-meme mods would conform to a certain level of power relative to each other - most only doubled or tripled ore yields from raw ore (this was pre-fortune working on iron/gold), most had energy generation options that were pretty comparable, most didn't have crazily strong weapons, tools, armor, logistics options, etc. Mekanism isn't the first to break that balance, and it isn't a bad thing that it does, but in doing so it tends to steamroll in packs with tech options that still follow those old guidelines. Is it inherently a bad mod? No. I think it is inherently a fantastic mod. I also think it currently blows most other tech mods out of the water in terms of its power curve, and if you want a modpack that includes it, there is going to be a ton of "just do Mekanism lol" inertia that you have to account for if you want players to solve problems with anything other than the biggest hammer in their arsenal.
Expanding on the mention of fortunable iron and gold - When fortune started affecting all ores in 1.17, it ruffled a _lot_ of modded players' feathers. Mainly because the vast majority of mods nerfed their ore doubling to the new unwritten standard of 1.5x. Granted, it maths out to the same 2x on average when paired with fortune. The problem is that a solid chunk of modded tools - especially those in the tech mods that people rely on for ore multiplication - are completely unenchantable. You have to lug around an extra tool now just to get the best return on time spent mining. One nice upside of this, though, is that most mods with a quarry now give some way to apply silk touch/fortune on mined blocks, which is something I had been missing since first using Buildcraft in 1.2.5. In a shocking moment of care towards game balance, Mek actually joined the wagon to nerf their ore duplication. There's one _slight_ issue with that sentence, though. It ignores the fact that pre-1.17 Mekanism allowed up to _ore quintupling_ (1 ore -> 5 ingots). They were far and away the single best ore duplication process in existence barring joke and alchemy mods, and nerfing themselves by a flat percentage to follow a new convention didn't really change that fact. You can still get up to 3x, if memory serves, which maintains pre-1.17 Mek's habit of roughly doubling the standard. All that said, I do really enjoy Mekanism, don't take my criticism as purely negative. It's a well made mod, and I've actually gone out of my way to contribute to it a couple times with random bugfixes. In my opinion, it's over the top in a fun way, and it doesn't just solve your engineering problems for you . At least, not without making you solve some new ones in the process typically, such as the mildly infuriating "there are only 6 sides to a cube, and I need at least 7 to do what I want in a single machine"
@@NeuroticGoose Thanks for your answer! Ive seen a section of players not enjoying the mod due to this and wondered what you thought of it after mentionning it in one of your videos. I do think it has a very nice progression feel and is pretty well polished, especially when it comes to the textures and systems that it has! It hits a sweet spot that gregtech really misses, though I should definitely give it a fair try sometime. Thanks for your series and perseverance through the grinds and long idling times! Godspeed!
3:25 Instead of throwing Orbis Terrae at the ritual stone, I think you're meant to link a Crystal Belljar holding the stuff to it, similar to the Convocation ritual. Not that I've used reagent for any ritual other than Convocation.

I'd honestly slurp all the polybenzimidazole you're producing on your factory, idk why people keep telling me that's unhealthy, it's just it's so tasty!
2 goose videos in one day?
this is the best $2 i've spent in my life
Found this series while sick with COVID, now that I'm almost recovered, a new episode comes out! Thanks for keeping me company and helping me get to sleep while I was sick
I'm glad I spent 2 bucks like 8 days ago. Incredible stuff
Or don’t.
Much love ❤
This is super great I have no idea what's going on anymore but I am glad you're having fun and I keep watching for fun
Looks like botania’s rod of shifting crust may work similarly as well
I am enjoying rimworld, this goose is cooking good
Wait, what?
I was eating dinner so I missed the Goose Upload. GTNH is back? AND RIMWORLD AT THE SAME TIME?!
I just binged this whole series and I still have no idea what's happening 90% of the time. That's on me though, I'd never heard of GregTech until about a month ago 😅
Two uploads in one day?!? My day went from great to indubitably prosperous
*Imaginary Technique : Hollow Goose !!!*
The thumbnail looks like its straight out of the jjk manga. Like "Imaginary technique: Juiciest Goose"
Hmmmmmm...
This is the best Nothing thumbnail since episode 21!
the hitman reference was goated. now that makes me yearn for a silent assassin suit only run on this channel, probably with some other bs addendum, like only being able to kill targets with screwdrivers or something
I too understand just from watching the video the time sink this endgame is and will love to see how rimworld returns to the earleir days of BMHMWN a void, or icyrock where you must aquire sucess in
Whenever I see your minecraft character in the inventory the armor makes you look like a warhammer tech priest
Honestly, I wasn't evem sure we'd get another epiaode od this series. You would have been totally justified. Super happy with however much more we get :>
holy hell this man has been cooking. 2 in ONE day holy hell
OMG I Love this so much!! This needs to be on a shirt!
Gregtech is the only time I've seen someone build multiblocks with a builderswand
Naquadah! (Nack-a-dah) There's stargates in this modpack???? Amazing.
Great video remember insanity is "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." Quantum mechanics does this so your insanity is validated by science.
I love being a member i love getting more and earlier
I was not prepared for "Ha(r)m aside"/"Homicide".
you can use filter card, to filter all these drops of fluid
also, you can put terminal to baubles and use one button to open it, which is super convenient
Thank you, Goose, for the video, but also for reminding me about the killer clown sigtings of 2016. I didn't really _need_ a reminder that society has a collective neuron count that rivals Caenorhabditis elegans for last place, but here we are 😂
I fear I will never understand how "two heads are better than one" when 8 billion heads does ... _gestures around at nothing in particular_ ... whatever supremely boring dystopia we've ended up in.
Nothing greg and Rimworld goose you're spoiling us today!
Goose dropping 2 vids today like "Get Flocked Nerds" and ill admit, im Flocked. On another note, Would you ever consider doing something like TerraFirmaGreg after Nothing? itd be quite the contrast and could be a good foray into a modern pack
Third rewatch of this episode! I think this is my favorite one of them all :)
jumpscared me with this one
15:50 "Now that oxygen is firmly included" i got that reference
watched the first RimWorld video this morning and decided the ridiculously broken conversion of ~$0.03 for your t2 sub was worth it (and very funny, the conversion rates for my country are broken for some reason) so getting 4 goose juices in a day is definitely gonna affect my mental well being... time will tell how
it's not broken, it's just set at a rate to match the buying power an average person in your country would have, so no matter where someone is from they can support the creator with what they have
@@alyti yup! but it's been covered by spiffingBrit that Argentina's rates are ridiculous 😭 like, I can't even buy T1 because it's 1 cent. I'll probably get one of the higher tiers just cause I want to support goose anyways
I'm stuck in my room with COVID, with not one but two goose vids today? Hell yeah.
hope ur recovery goes well!! enjoy the goose!
very nice get supplies get more supplies over supply than tier up no need to rush and mess the run up
it's not tomorrow, but I had to listen to someone talk while I ate, so... thanks for the video
i was so distracted by the rimworld that i didnt notice this notification, this was a very pleasant suprise
I love your dry humour
I'm glad you're doing well and have members and all that. Sadly the only support I can give is artistically, which isn't an available option. So I'll just continue to comment and like for the algorithm.
Hey Goose, you can bind the wireless terminal to a keybind and get it off your hotbar.
"A small quantity of half a million" is up there with "A small loan of a million dollars" in my phrase tier list
is it just me or are the one-liners getting better
I'm fairly certain Orbis Terrae needs to be in a nearby linked Crystal Belljar to have an effect, and that just throwing it onto the Master Ritual Stone like you did at 3:25 doesn't actually work
Circuit Assembly Lines only need EV-tier glass, you don't need to use higher tiers
You should now have access to the Gaia fight, which unlocks Gaia Spirit tools (as good as Ichorium, aka busted) as well as the Ring of Loki, which is a godsend for building large arrays of multiblocks faster
Are you able to use Large Essentia Generators for power generation? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they should be fully usable within this challenge, and they are extremely broken. LEGs carried me until near the end of UEV without ever really having to think about power
You're getting close to the point where you need to worry about Neutronium, which has ridiculously long smelting and fusing times. Once you get there, I recommend not even bothering with trying to use your regular smelting setup for it, and instead making a large array of Volcani dedicated solely to passively smelting Neutronium 24/7. (Volcani and not MBFs because they use less power)
Yet another goose with yet another nothing. Joyous.
Expanding on the mention of fortunable iron and gold -
When fortune started affecting all ores in 1.17, it ruffled a _lot_ of modded players' feathers.
@@NeuroticGoose
Thanks for your answer!
Godspeed!
warcrime sim and gtnh in one day? pog :D
I'm not sure if I saw it correctly but there might be an obsidian in the way of your endstone production blocking one of the paths
10:50 Wi-Fi 7*, actually
Very nerdy correction, I know, but Wi-Fi and mobile data standards aren’t the same!
Regardless, still very strong
So who is gonna tell goose that the end stone generator is gonna break once enough obsidian spawns as pistons can't push obsidian
I keep forgetting there's a quest book here
Hi guys :) welcome back to greggy
A double goose day! We are blessed!
3:25 Instead of throwing Orbis Terrae at the ritual stone, I think you're meant to link a Crystal Belljar holding the stuff to it, similar to the Convocation ritual. Not that I've used reagent for any ritual other than Convocation.
Going To Be More Assemblers Than Render Distance Brother
Nice, it continues.
I don't think it's emphadized enough that your ability to turn block game gobbledygook into compelling exposition is laudable
the factory must grow
I love you Goose but technically that is not the definition of insanity, it was Einstein's definition of insanity. Although I too love Farcry 3.
Man there has to be some dark magic in theese videos because i just watched a 32 minute video in what feels like 12 seconds
loved it as always !
great hitman reference
Oxygen finally included.
Heh.
I had a joke in my head about the temporal rift and the stargate but it wasn't very coherent. Oh well.
GOOOOSE I LOVE YOU ❤❤❤❤
Goose M.E.T.H. of the week
Its goosing time again this week sweet
Fusion power is not scalable. I’m devastated.
Honestly this makes me want to do a GT:NH play through where I source resources only through renewable means. Because why worry about making trips to get resources from other planets when I can source everything from the comfort of my magically adept base?
12:52 clean ass pun
Nice Oni reference
28:55 omg i got discord message when you were saying that and i thought what a funny guy you are. The sound didnt play when i rewinded 5 seconds and that was concerning xd
Who up gregging they tech rn
I will attempt to speak for all of us by saying: your mention of Agent 47 has been noticed, and yes, we *would* in fact watch you play the new trilogy. Or the old games.
