As an older woman my advice.. don’t focus on men, regardless of this WALL a man will always be there, save money don’t get caught up in what’s in style or what someone else has and most importantly do what you love, when you work a job you hate every day is a chore. The job may pay well but your peace and happiness is worth so much more.

What the older lady meant about “smex” is that it clouds your judgement. Which is true. If you want to think clearly don’t physically bond or get really intimate and bare with someone who you don’t actually love, much less simply care about. She’s right. Modern western society has tried to detach any meaning from the act itself and reduce its seriousness to just “having fun” while grown men and young boys conflate smex with recieving love and validation from women. Hence why a woman’s boyfriend got mad at her when she called him “marriage material”. While women take marriage to be a compliment, (the average) men seem to take it as an insult, showing that they subconsciously value smex more than marriage OR conflate the two. And see it as putting them down telling them that they aren’t “good in bed”. In summary: society is screwed and men and women are not on the same page. It’s only getting worse. Other than that I wish the lady next to her just read between the lines. This is so odd watching the “self helpification” of something so simple as living alone. I’ve lived on my own since I was 18 (over 20 years) and hearing “I had to plan all of my meals and wash my own clothes!” Is wild. Duh! Of course you had to, you chose to be an independent, self sustaining adult. Come on, not everything is a revelation.

Ive been living alone since 23. At first I let my ex/kids dad come and live with me and it was the worst thing I could've did😂. I was so miserable having to share my apartment. That didn't work so we broke up and i kicked him out. It was just me and my baby and we were soooo peaceful. We lived off a beautiful lake. We would walk around the park and look out at the Lake. My home was so cozy. I am now 32 living in a Condo off of a Lake and I love my home. My 2 boys are just like me. They are so quiet i forget i even have kids. Lol I couldn't ask for a better life.
